Oh wow, that book sounds AWESOME! I am such a takeaway addict, every month we agree not to buy any, and come week 3...
It's just a shame I've agreed to be Ebay/amazon/etc neutral and need to make money before I can spend money!Paying off CC in 2011 £2100/£1692

OK I have to ask is it really worth getting or is it better value for less experienced cooks? I am trying to work out if I can justify it or if I should pass on it. I would try the library but ours has closed.Put the kettle on.0

Def buy it.
There are lots of easy recipes in there, in fact the majority are for the novice cook, go for it.0 -
Thanks so much for the recommendations on here. I bought the book as a christmas pressie for my OH and he's enjoyed making everything so far. We have adapted things slightly, (he made sweet & sour sauce with a few drops of worcestor sauce instead of soya and left garlic & some of the spices out of the curry sauce) and the kofta kebabs were not done on skewers but fried like sausages in the griddle pan, but it's all been very tasty so far. And surprisingly easy!
We don't eat pizza very much but i fancy having a go at making a pizza base sometime.

:j Woo hoo, my book finally arrived and I can't wait to try most of the takeouts.
I think this will push up my food budget this week as there is a lot of herb & spices I need to buy. But after the initial spend, looking forward to having saved money and a full tummy.MAR GC £92.43 / £100 NSD 16 / 31

I've been lurking on this thread for ages and finally managed to get the book at my local library. Yay
So far I've only tried the Doner meat, which was a success but it came out looking a bit like haslet once it was sliced , and I'm not sure I really got the 'loaf' shape right, but it tasted quite good, almost like proper kebab shop doner but nowhere near as greasy! And it's great knowing what's going into itIf I could cheat, I'd skip to the end and decide if it's worth going through with0
