Made the Lamb Donner Kebab tonight and thought it tasted great, was a lot nicer than my local takeaway!
Forgot to take a pic was to busy eating0 -
Made the Mega Burger (Big Mac) last night anf it was EXACTLY THE SAME as the McDonalds version... spot on and so easy to make.
Also made the Fillet of Fish burger but the coating didn't really turn out too well so was just like a piece of fish in a bun really... not horrible, just not like McD's0 -
Where is a good place to buy cinnamon sticks ? Tried my local Morrisons and they didn't have any.
Edit: Found them in Tesco0 -

hopefully in the ethnic aisle in tesco, as they are way cheaper there - 99p for 100g, whereas in the normal spice aisle they are 84p for 12g

Sure I got some in Asda for about 50-60p for about 5 sticks, need to get more actually, the hot choc recipe with them is DELICIOUS!
Thought of all you Takeaway Secret lovers when shopping in Netto last night, they have an offer on herbs and spices at the mo, 3 jars for £1, had loads in my local store including many of the ones used in the book's recipes, I've bought them previously and found the quality to be fine (know some people can be dodgy about Netto stuff!), so if anyone's looking to stock up on spices for cheap, get yourself down there!0 -

it's darker & looks like bits of tree bark as opposed to the pale brown rolled quills that are genuine cinnamon0 -
These last few weeks I've been snowed/iced in and this book has been a God send. :T
I'm loving the egg & sausage muffins. Mcdonalds only serve until 10:30am, but Lou only serves after [about] 2:30pm - that in itself is worth it. :rotfl:
I made the bolognaise recipe the other night, was a bit disturbed that it didn't use garlic (my staple ingredient) so had a wee taste and it was awfully bland.I tweeked it a bit - garlic & herbs, and it was nice but not as nice as my usual recipe.
Has anyone else tried this recipe and finds it works?
