the takeaway secret

Hi Peeps
I've purchased the book as a Christmas gift for my Sisters partner, after reading the rave reviews on here & knowing how he loves his takeaways and is a pretty handy cook in his own right.
I'm after a favour could someone, who is using the book, post the spices that I should also purchase as part of his gift? Only if I thumb through book it won't look new but used especially as I'm heavy handed & clumsy I'll get marmite or some food on the pages as is the norm when I read a book
TIA

You're all such a bad influence on me, I was ready to buy the book after the first couple of pages of this thread, but I was good and held out until at least page 37 just to make sure I really needed it.

Book is on order and today I've sourced and now got garlic powder and dried onion at the ready. Very excited at the thought of some of my favourite UK style takeaways, as we don't get good ones here. I'll be spreading the word to other expat friends.Mortgage

Hi elf06, I'm confused. I've marinated the chicken, ready to cook for tonight, but are you then going to put it in a sauce or something?0 -
Sorry peeps, scrub that last comment! I've looked in the book and I take it you're making the Chicken Tikka Masala! Sounds delicious, I think our Tikka for tonight has just become Tikka Masala. :j0

I'd definitely recommend the Tikka Masala or the garlic chilli chicken. Both are really quick to make once the chicken tikka has been cooked and they taste as good as any takeaway I've ever bought. I usually cook at least double of the chicken tikka and freeze half."Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

Right I am now a member. I picked up my copy from WHSmiths today, I arraged collection at the store.
I have had a quick glance and wonder if I am missing something here?
My book starts at pages 1-80 and then starts again at page 49-173. Deffo a duplication on the first sector of pages 49-80. Seems a print run mistake.
Anyone else got this?0 -

Might be worth posting what you think his favourite recipes would be so people can list ingredients for those recipes. Otherwise it would take all week to recommend ingredients for every recipe in the book.
