Glad everything went well with your scan today MV. I wonder if I will be copying you and having a boy too??? My scan is next Tuesday, but we still haven't decided whether to find out the sex or not. I've been in two minds about it forever, so don't expect things to become clear in the next week either. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0

Hi! Can I join in too please? I'm 31 and 22 weeks pregnant. We're expecting a boy and I'm due on Christmas day. Have been lurking for a long time, even before I conceived. I've decided to start posting today as I've got a bad cold and have been up all night coughing. Hope I can get someone to cover for me this morning at work because I've got meetings with clients all morning but can only croak.
So far have had a very MSE pregnancy - have been lent travel system, Moses basket, bouncy chair, car seat (from a friend so I know it is okay) and bath. Also used vouchers (left over from wedding 3 yrs ago!) to get baby grows and changing mat and bought all the clothes we need from eBay for about £20 total. Unfortunately we need to buy a car as we only have a (very elderly) 2 seater at the moment. Don't think the hospital will let us put the baby in the boot!
Looking forward to getting to know you all over the next 4 months!0 -
morning everyone xx
MV huge congrats on team blue xx
The next verse congratulations on the birth of kai, gorgeous pic, look at those finger nails they are so long bless him x
Kitkat glad the monitoring went well and showed baby is doing ok, it won't be long now but you still have time to go before friday x0 -
Morning all
Congratulations on the birth of Kai. Sorry you had a rough time. I'd definately arrange to speak to someone, I did after DS's birth and felt better after. It also means there is information on file so if there's a next time they know what you went through and extra care can be taken to stop similar happening again (although it should be as standard, but we all know that's not always the case).
Welcome to the newbies.
KK - glad to hear baby is moving around again and you'll be having mummy cuddles soon.
Sorry if I've missed anyone else.
Feeling pretty down this morning, the pain is really getting to me now. DH wanted to DTD this morning, but I had a bad night and really wasn't feeling in the mood, especially as any pressure on my SPD joint really makes the pain worse. I said no and got upset as I always seem to say no at the moment and I know he's feeling starved of affection. He then flounced out making nasty comments about me staying in bed until Dec being a miserable cow.. He's usually so good, especially as he had servere hip pain as a teenager that required operations so as some idea what I'm going through, but everyso often it obviously gets to him and I get the brunt of it.
I've practically run out of pain killing options and have to manage on the ones I've got until 32 weeks. I could increase the dose again, but I've only just stopped feeling dizzy and fuzzy on the current dose (not that it sorts the pain out completely), upping it again will just wipe me out completely - should I go down that route???
Sorry for the moaning post, just don't know who else is likely to understand0 -
morning all
welcome ejecoms
glad the class was good sir m - I want to write my birth plan soon too.
woke up early but then came on here to upload a pic onto fb so missed the bus I would've gone for. 15 mins extra sit down won't do me any harm though
I am dreaming about the baby every night now...last night it was triplets! And I seem to always dream about breastfeeding too!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

I've always thought that boys names were trickier than girls. I've been thinking up lots of girls names!!!
I have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a battle with OH on the name though..We've got our boys name picked...it's the girls names that are causing us trouble
I'm convinced I'm having a boy but we're going team yellow.
The Next Verse: Thanks for sharing your birth story. I'm so sorry it was so traumatic. Baby Kai is gorgeous :A
Our next job is deciding on car seats...
I brought it up a while ago about the fact I have a 3 door car and believing the type of seat where you remove the whole seat (and use it on the pushchair) was impractical. But you guys had the opposite view in that it's best to bash the car seat on the door frame than the baby's head...
Well I was wondering what happens in a carpark where there are no Mother and Baby spaces and there's not enough room to get the seat out? Because my doors are so thick it'll be impossible to get a car seat out if I'm parked next to another car/pillar/wall.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
MORNING ALL
congratulations TNV on birth of Kai sorry to hear birth was a traumatic experience.
off to hospital today for pre-op then meeting husband for lunch, no point him coming to hospital as its only health care assitant taking bloods and doing checks etc, consultant did consent and everything else needed at 30wk appointment.
We still have no name decided and cant decide so will be baby no name for a bit I think!! we have Arthur as a middle name but nothing concrete for first name.0 -
giz you park far far away from the entrance and hope no one parks next to you whilst you're shopping. In reality I've only had the problem of not being able to get in the car on returning to it once and luckily OH was there and could reverse it out before we got in. Generally 3 door cars have much longer doors so could be more of a problem as ours was a 5 door 206. Otherwise if you know you are going somewhere busy without OH it might be easier to have baby on the passenger seat, so long as you can turn off any airbag it shouldn't really be a problem.0

Giz - I swapped for a 4 door cos OH is 6ft4 and refused to consider putting a baby into a car seat in a 3 door. He is a major clutz though.DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

Welcome Ejecoms - here's to a happy healthy pregnancy
TNV - what a BEAUTIFUL baby, Kai is so lovely. I hope it makes all the struggling and the pain worth it.
Kitkat - glad you're now feeling movement, I bet you can't wait for mummy cuddles at the weekend!
I slept through the night again last night and again am really groggy. Wondering whether I'm groggy in the mornings when I sleep through because I'm dehydrated, as I've obviously not drunk enough in the evening if I'm not waking up to wee in the night? My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
