Midwife came out and my blood pressure high so off to hosp for me, not sure if i want them to just do c-section or if i want them to send me home!!!!!
Have sooo many things to do over next two days!!!!!

Am also glad you got seen by a mw. I didn't want to scare you but my best friend came to visit me when she was a few days overdue, I hardly recognised her. Her whole body was swollen, her lips were huge. She thought it was normal water retention but it was pre eclampsia. On my advice she called the mw and was told to go staight in, her bp was scary high. She had an emergeny CS.
It's one thing i always look out for.

Hope it's not that and everything is fine.

Good luck at the hospital Pukkamum. I hope everything is ok.

(((Hugs))) Fuzzy - sorry to hear about your mummy. Sending loads of get well vibes her way and labour vibes your way. I hope bubs makes an appearance soon.

Cutterby - It may be worth asking at your consultant's appointment about the Exemption certificate, as I got mine from the MW at the booking in appt at the hospital. And that was at 10 weeks. Once you post it off, it only takes about a week to come through. RE the Hip form, I don't blame you!! Every little helps, as old Mr T says ;) In fact, my sister (due in Jan) didn't even know what the Hip is until I told her - so I hope she's got her form by now! Also, there's no need to sit nicely on the sidelines - just barge in, elbows first like the rest of us :D We all learnt from Fuzzy :p

Hngrymummy - I'm loving your synthesia (sp?). What a great gift! I would love a talent like that!! Out of interest, what colours are associated with samantha :)

Princess Coupon - Are you super au fait with the tax system? You do seem very knowledgable. My dad keeps telling me I should see if I am eligible for a tax rebate after not working for half the year, and now working part time, but it all sounds so confusing to me :( Where do I start??

Legs- Hope you're at the hospital on your way to having mummy cuddles :smileyhea

Been having a spelling bee with a colleague at work who thinks he's a better speller than me - I don't think so!

Huge labour vibes to those ready to pop - there's going to be a baby boom!!! :)

I know I've missed loads out, but I seriously can't keep up with everyone and I'm ever so slightly nervous about addressing people I "don't know" :o Everyone seems to have their friendships and I don't fancy elbowing my way in so I tend to read and send people virtual hugs without posting. That doesn't mean I don't think of you all though - especially paws - has anyone heard from her?

Just wondering... Saw one of the midwives yesterday, she said I don't need to see them again until I'm 28 weeks (I'm off to the consultant on Friday, then scan on the 22nd) but I haven't had any forms to fill in for the free prescriptions/dentist (the midwife I saw at my second appointment didn't have any) and I'm sure I've read that you have to fill in the HiP forms at 25 weeks and send them off as soon as possible - not that I'm a money grabber or anything, but I'd like what I'm entitled to. (We get royally screwed over with hubby's tax so I'd like something back!) Is there a form I should look for online, or phone up for? Or do I just wait til 28 weeks and sort it then? Thanks in advance if anyone can help :)
I would give them a ring and ask about the forms, see if they can be left for you, or if the Dr can sign them for you... And like Sammy said, just elbow your way in here... The rest of us do... I recon if someone wanted a private conversation they'd PM it... If they post it on the board then they obviously want everyone to comment on it ;)

You find your local tax office on the government website, just give them a ring and ask them to look into it... Or do what I just did and wait 2 years and hope they do an assesment and send you a cheque... (They did, I got my £26 tax back lol)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thanks Krystal. Lol, that's what I told my dad - surely if I was due a rebate they would tell me - just like when they let you know that you haven't paid enough tax???? But he laughed, and said no. I have to do it myself :rotfl:

Oh, and I have another money question. Boring I know!!! Basically, I hope to claim Maternity Allowance, as I will not have worked in my current job long enough to be eligible for SMP, plus we agreed a fixed term contract that ends in Feb. So they say that as long as you have worked for 26 weeks out of the 66 weeks (I think) before your due date, you can claim MA. How do they work out how much weekly MA you are entitled to, considering I will have a mix of unemployment, full time and part time history in those 66 weeks. Thank you :A

sammy you send off the highest payslips you have for during that period, it is loads of payslips they ask for and then I think they average it out. It's a long time since I claimed for DD but the leaflet explains it really well, it was a very easy process.

Re tax I have once claimed it back when I only worked half the year, got cheque in the post lovely and once had a random rebate I wasn't even expecting so they obviously do check but just incase it only took a quick call and they sent out a form, I sent it back and a few weeks later they sent a cheque.

Pukkamum good luck at the hospital I hope it goes whichever way you hope for, if you do have the baby now its only a few days early and I'm sure those jobs will keep, best of luck xxx

I thought MA was the same for everyone. I got £106 a week back in 2007 as I hadn't worked since having dd. Im sure it was the same as SMP. I'm probably wrong tho.

Pretty sure your right, doesn't matter if you qualify for SPA or get MA everyone gets the same.

not quite, I won't get £124 per week SMP I wish lol I will get 90% of my pay the whole 9 months though because this amount is lower than £124 more like £112. so Part time workers don't always get the full amount thats why they ask to see so many payslips.
  • Gahhhh. Annoyed now.

Bought a bright pink 'Mind the Bump' t-shirt from MC a couple of months ago. Wanted to wear it Friday when I go to the NEC so that people might bump into me a bit less. It was on a size 8 hanger, so I bought it. Just got it out of the bag, and it's a size 20. Why would they put a size 20 t-shirt on a size 8 coathanger???

Now I've got to try and get back to MC and see if they'll exchange it for me, even after a few months.

Best of luck Pukkamum. Hope it all goes well.
