OMG I'm watching last weeks episode of Don't tell the bride. How nuts is the mother?!!!

Speaking of mothers....my mother in law was on about these amazing 3D scans today. I found it soooo hard to not tell her I'd booked one last night and paid a deposit for her to come with us at 26 weeks. Will be a nice christmas surprise for her.

Happy due date to those lady bumps due today and past due. I've turned in to a bit of a lurker on here so will make the concerted effort to be better. I've been busy cooking and making a roast today to be bothered about the humoungous pile of ironing....tomorrow night. On my todd as DH off to Germany. Have a girlie night planned on Tuesday..mate coming around with wine....when I'm going to break the news to her. Love telling people :) although, not looking fwd to telling work tomorrow.
  • I'm 5ft 7, so guess that's about an average gain?

I think you're on the low side of average gain, but don't worry, babies are such effective parasites it will get what it needs regardless.

Sorry, what he/she needs, not it.

That mother on don't tell the bride was hideous. Loved the couple though, especially the girl when the Collie jumped up on her dress and she didn't bat an eye.

Fanta that is such a lovely gesture, she will be over the moon I'm sure, good on you!

Evening ladies. Had late lunch at MIL's today which was lovely full roast beef dinner yum. We went through a rocky patch when i was pregnant with DD (partly my fault, partly hers but I let it go on too long :o) anyway we are mostly back on track and she was saying that she is going to ask work, when I'm ready to go back to work from maternity leave, if she can not work 2 of the days that I work to look after the baby. This is going to be a huge relief if she is able to do it as I will ahve 2 in nursery which will cost a fortune. I obviously thought about this when TTC and we would manage but it would be a bit of a struggle, so if she can take bubs it will be wonderful and it would just be for about 8 months until DD went to school. Keeping fingers crossed that her work agree to it.

Feeling a bit put out today as all of ours friends were out over the weekend for halloween and we never got an invite :( I was always a bit of a party animal until I had DD then we used to go out every now and then but it seems that now I'm pregnant again everyone has forgotten about us. (boo hoo yes I am feeling sorry for myself :o).

Anyway you ladies in bold hurry up and have your babies I want to move up the list now LOL.:p:D

    Welcome alamaya!

    He's a he GFH :D

Can I just ask, does anyone in the 3rd trimester still get horrific and sudden bouts of tiredness?

I've been completely whumped this evening, I can hardly move! I wonder if when babies have sudden growth spurts they knock the poor mum for six??

  • Evening all

Just caught up with 5 pages, so appologies if I don't comment on anything.

Congrats to those who have reached EDD. :j

Not had many kids at the door tonight. Probably something to do with the appaling weather :D

Last night sproglet was booting me, so I grabbed DHs hand and put it on my tummy so he could feel the booting too. Sproglet decided to use the moment to show off a new trick. Foot (well, I assume it was a foot) was jammed into my tummy which made a little bump. He then moved said foot accross my tummy, so the little bump moved too. Not sure who was more freaked out, me or DH  It was just really really weird. DH hasn't dared come near my tummy since.

So much for the 'flutterings' that my pg book describe.

In-laws have not long left. They brought us a yummy yummy cake. Just had a slice and I can feel my teeth melting. It's the kind of cake that could bring on GD in a single slice :)

Anyone know what the 28 week bloods are for? Wondering if I can either not have them, or get em done at the hospital. I'm sure the MW will be fine doing it, I'd just rather someone who does is every day takes it. Preferably the woman who did it last time. She was great and even offered to sing to me if that'd help. :rotfl:Didn't bat an eyelid at my hysterics and inability to even roll my sleeve back down because I didn't want to touch my own arm :o

Was going to say more but my brain has stopped working again.

Bubs does the same thing to me, right out my my belly button, making my bump triangular!! I love watching this!

I keep putting Dh's hand on my bump but he doesn't have the patience to wait for the baby to move lol...

Hngry, you can have the bloods done at the hospital no problem, just ask the midwife for the forms when you see her and take them straight there...

I can't seem to shake heartburn at the minute, I get it whatever I've eaten, I've been chugging on the gaviscon and eaten about a million love hearts / refreshers and it's still there constantly :(

Evening ladies. Sorry to bring a downer to the thread but I'm having a moan.
Had a row with OH today. I caught him smoking after he has been so good and stopped for 4 weeks. I went in a sulk and told him he had really let me and the baby down (remember the baby got him a thank you card and a bag of sweets a couple of weeks ago to say well done for quitting?).
He responded with a torrent of abuse, some of which was just too far.......oh this was all in front of his friends and family at a family christening. I ran out in tears, got home, packed a bag and am now safely tucked up in my mums spare bed. He hasn't been in touch but I don't reckon he would anyway til tomorrow thinking he's giving me time to calm down. The weird thing is, I'm totally fine, I'm not upset in the slightest, i feel numb. That's not right is it?

I'm not looking for advice or sympathy, just somewhere to moan and maybe a (hug) if anyone had some spare?

I do love him dearly I just wish he wouldn't lose his temper in such a dramatic fashion.

    Xx

Krystal, does milk help your heartburn? It helps me. I have a glass every night before bed and it keeps it at bay. If I don't have the milk I get hb really bad.

Hungry - not sure what the bloods are for. Midwife just mentioned it's for checking iron levels..but surely it's not just for that?

MV, I was having a stress about weight a while ago. At the time I'd put on 13lb, now I've put on 18lb. I'm 163lb now. I think I've been averaging 1lb a week recently, so keeping this up it'll be 32lb which is a bit more than the recommended 2 stone.

I'm really really moody at the moment :( I feel like screaming at OH for the smallest things. I'm trying to get to the bottom of it. I think I'm really worried about money and finances.

It doesn't help that our boiler is still playing up, so looks like we're going to have to fork out ££ for it to be fixed. And the leak is still happening even though roof man fixed it :( Just don't have the funds for these sorts of problems right now. I'm trying hard to budget things and keep food bills down and making the effort to cook from scratch etc and then OH goes and spends £12 on wine. And I just feel like why do I bother? I'm the one making an effort to sell things on ebay to make some money to pay for the cot etc. And he just seems to spend on silly things. Sometimes I want to just let him deal with all the finances and have him work out how to get 20 meals out of a measley budget, but I know if I did that we'd just end up in debt. Rant over.

It probably would, but with both the girls I was getting through two 4pinter bottles in 3 days, I just couldn't get enough of it... Then I found out it was probably the reason for my iron dropping towards the end of the pregnancy (milk is inhibitor) Although I think even if I'd have known that I wouldn't have been able to stop...

This time though, no inclination to drink it at all!! I might have a glass tonight though, see if it helps...

28wk bloods are (I think) full iron count and a platelet check...

We also had a bit of a barney about money the other week, I'm desperately worried about how much we're paying out and then Hubby "needed" £30 for an xbox game he'd pre-ordered then spent all the money out of his account... I got really upset about it and we had a big row... It's made no difference though... It might when his birthday comes around and he realises I actually meant it when I said I didn't have any money to get him anything...
