I'm in a bit of a dilemma, I'm 3 days overdue, lost my plug yesterday and I normally go to a bootsale every Saturday but don't fancy my waters breaking in a field on a plus point it's only 2 miles from the hospital I'm planning to go to and I have all hospital bags packed into the car. I've had terrible trapped wind all night, very painful - never had it this bad before, don't know what I ate or did differently yesterday but I was in so much pain last night I could hardly sleep, I took two tums which helped a bit but I was wondering if anyone else had any tips ?Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0

I'd go to the boot sale, the walking around would probably help. I lost most of my plug with DS at 38 weeks, but he was still 8 days overdue no guarantee loosing your plug is the start! Good luck!0

I seem to wake up every morning with very painful trapped wind. Like someone sticking a knife in me! And last night for the second night this week I lay awake for about 3 or 4 hours with pain in my lower back and hips. Like someone said yesterday I think the pain in my hips feels like the growing pains you get in your joints when you are a teenager.
I had to get up at 5am to eat a bowl of cereal, because my tummy was rumbling!
I used to think that you would only be in pain/discomfort when you got to about 36 weeks and that a lot of pregnant women were just putting it on for sympathy. How wrong was I!!
Moan over. I hope everyone else had a better night's sleep than me and we get lots of weekend babies.
Any news on Delain?0 -
I'd go to the boot sale. walking will help the baby put pressure on your cervix. My waters have never went on there own so no idea if they are likely to go fist but maybe wear a pad to feel a bit more secure. I also had trapped wind while watching the A team movie last night ( can you tell it was OH's choice).
Also last night while watching the film i felt 2 things that felt like big kicks, OH felt them on the outside too, it was about 3 inches above me belly button but no idea if it was the trapped wind or not. The was also a gentler tap just below belly button the OH felt slightly. I am not quite 15 weeks so it seems early for movment but i really have no idea. Playing google Dr and some have said 15-18 weeks other places 18-20 weeks and other say no movment until 24+ is totally normal so pass.
Apparently baby is called teapot according to DD1 who told her nursery teacher i was having a baby called teapot. totally bizzare.
I keep thinking of the birth and I think i want induced. its alot easier to sort childcare etcMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Morning all!
I woke up at 5am in a complete panic about the baby. I was worrying about anything and everything - triple test, size of bump, the fact I don't feel pregnant at all!! Weird, weird, weird!!
Then it took me an age to drop back off to sleep because me hips and back started hurting! I was woken by DH at 8 as he was taking DD swimming. I then got cramp in my left leg and now I'm hobbling!! Isn't pregnancy great!!
Hope Delain is doing well!!Virtual Sealed Pot 2013 #41 - £69.27OJ born 25/01/110 -

Any news on Delain?sir_monster wrote: »Evening ladies
Enjoyed my NCT class this evening, although some of it wasn't relevant (well you never know!) like when to go to the hospital etc as I will already be there. She was quite positive though about standing up for your rights and doing things the way you want etc. She also said not to go to hosp until contractions are 3 mins apart (for first), but if they do turn you away you don't have to go home maybe go for a walk as soon as you get home then you are bound to accelerate. She also said an epidural would be good for me with high b/p but may need something for early labour.
Rach re water births she was really encouraging for that and said at the PRU there is one pool and one big bath in the disabled room to go for, also that for some reason there is a good chance you could get access to either there as not so popular. Also can you give me some inches pls as I was still measuring at 31cm on Monday and I'm 36 weeks soon!!
A full day at NCT tomorrow, is good but a lot of stuff to be honest I have read in other places but is nice to be able to ask questions as not been able to ask m/w this stuff.
I'm working from home next friday if you fancy a coffee? DH will also be home but he might be going out with his family as sister visiting, I'll have to stay around home as meant to be working!
And one more thing to those new mums... Heres a tip... Dont throw all your boxes away if you buy new baby items, especially the steriliser! lol Im regretting it now... It would be useful to put away for next time or even to sell on ebay as you get more if its in the original box with instructions!
Just one tip ive never come across! ;-P
don't think we'll be doing much today, I was meant to be meeting a friend up in london for coffee later but can't face travel on a non work day. i need to finalise the church magazine (why did i take this on with a baby coming??) and do some normal washing and baby washing!
Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Congratulations Xmas! How's Alexandra doing? I was telling DH about your birth story and he was asking if there was any chance it was your first. I had to tell him not to get his hopes up. We won't be having this one as quickly as you had yours! I'm really jealous!0

Hey girls sorry I havent been on I have had a rough time the few weeks leading up to the birth with painful contractions that wouldnt budge.
Anyway.. my gorgeous baby boy Bailey was born on the 5th of AugustSo I will post my birth story.
The Friday before I had gone in with painful irregular contractions, as they were like braxton hicks but really painful. Anyway they sent me home after giving pain killers. Saturday I went back because again paracetamol wasnt helping and I needed something stronger... same again I hadnt dilated etc so after being monitored for an hour they gave me pain killers and sent me home but wouldnt prescribe.
By Tuesday I could no longer cope.. since Friday morning my contractions have been all over the place from 3 mins apart to 10 mins apart constantly changing. I hadnt slept since Thursday evening and couldnt cope with the pain so 4am Tuesday morning I went back in.
They checked me.. I still hadnt dilated anybut they said because Id been in twice already they were keeping me in now until baby came. So they put me on post natal ward with 3 women who has just delivered. They gave me strong pain killers alongside paracetamol 4 times a day and I tried to sleep inbetween contractions and had regular baths.
I ended up getting no sleep and pacing the ward even all through the night. Weds morning the midwife promised they would check if I was dilated but they then had shift change and the next midwife refused. I tried baths etc and pacing the ward again, was in so much pain but my contractions were still irregular. Theyd be 3 mins apart for an hour and get my hopes up, but then they would go to 5 mins or 10 mins again.
Anyway by lunch I was in tears as I really couldnt cope any longer and the pain killers were no longer working. I had thrown all ideas of vbac out the window and asked to see my consultant about a section.
They bleeped the consultant.. and because they are busy told me it would be a long wait.
Anyway 3pm came for visiting hours and my mum came to see me... I had just had ANOTHER bath lol. Was in tears at the reception desk because I needed something stronger.. and they couldnt give me anything else until I was in labour.. then all of a sudden the contractions came at 3 mins apart.
So they put me on a monitor for 20 mins and checked me.. I was 5cm dilated!!
So was in tears of relief lol. Anyway down to labour ward given gas and air and pethidine. 5 hours later the pethidine ran out.. but I hadnt noticed so they didnt give me more.. I couldnt even speak sense from the gas and air and was struggling to stay awake lol.
I loved it.. just lay on the bed chilled... until I was fully dilated. And even then with gas and air felt chilledwith my first Id had gas and air and pethidine before I was even 4cm!!!
Anyway got to the pushing stage and I couldnt feel when my contractions were coming.. kept pushing too soon etc. And they couldnt tell on the monitor when I was about to contract, because my contractions were still irregular!! so Id get them a minute apart... then 2 mins.. then a mini contraction.. then a big one and so on.
They were going to give me another hour of pushing as I was doing really well, but babys heart rate went down to between 60-80bpm. So they took me to theatre and gave me a spinal.. and I was told they would try forceps.. if that didnt work the suction thingy.. and if that didnt work Id have a section
I was given a very bad episiotomy and bailey was delivered thursday morning at 1.47am on the 2nd forceps attempt weighing 6lbs 10oz.
I was allowed home from hospital on friday evening. have been back to the hosp since because my stitches burst but am now recovering very well and finally allowed out yay! poor bailey has conjunctivitus in both eyes and has had colic for 4 days, but we are getting so much better now.
sorry my post is so long!! i am not sure i will ever have more kids in the future if i get the chance, as both have been slightly traumatic for me. but now its over i dont regret it one bit.
congratulations to all who have delivered and good luck to those who haventlolly im going to find you birth story now and have a read
xx
