Back from consultant and growth scan. highlights include:- Bubs currently weighs an estimated 3lbs 7oz. Is this normal at 28 weeks?
I'm just about 28 weeks too and have my appointment next Thursday. From reading www.babycentre.co.uk I was expecting them to tell me the baby would be about 2 lb 3 oz. What is the average weight at this point? My mum's first was 10 lb 8oz  so she keeps asking if I know yet if the baby is on the big side or not.0 -

LilacPixie wrote: »WelshLassie - rant away. Sorry but i am with you, I have a deep mistrust of interventions despite having an induction with dd2. I don't mind G&A but i dislike the other drugs like spinals/epi and pethedine. I personally feel they slow things down and our bodies were designed to birth. Do what you want to, if you need drugs get them but give it a go if thats what you want. Your SIL does not count and once your OH can pee a watermelon then he gets an opinion until then his job is to support YOU and YOUR choices about what is happeneing to YOUR body
Thanks Lilac, at least someone understands. It annoys me even more that SIL did her first one completely naturally without anything, I was with her until 1 hour and half before baby was born and you would have barely known that she was in labour!!
I can understand DH's thoughts because he's worried about how my hips and pelvis will manage and recover and doesn't want to cause me any long term damage, but the thought having no feeling of my pain in my hips etc because of an epi scares me more than the section (which also terrifies me). I have no idea how I'm going to get this baby out! I'm more scared of this birth than I was of the first.0 -
Evening ladies
Enjoyed my NCT class this evening, although some of it wasn't relevant (well you never know!) like when to go to the hospital etc as I will already be there. She was quite positive though about standing up for your rights and doing things the way you want etc. She also said not to go to hosp until contractions are 3 mins apart (for first), but if they do turn you away you don't have to go home maybe go for a walk as soon as you get home then you are bound to accelerate. She also said an epidural would be good for me with high b/p but may need something for early labour.
Rach re water births she was really encouraging for that and said at the PRU there is one pool and one big bath in the disabled room to go for, also that for some reason there is a good chance you could get access to either there as not so popular. Also can you give me some inches pls as I was still measuring at 31cm on Monday and I'm 36 weeks soon!!
A full day at NCT tomorrow, is good but a lot of stuff to be honest I have read in other places but is nice to be able to ask questions as not been able to ask m/w this stuff.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

And one more thing to those new mums... Heres a tip... Dont throw all your boxes away if you buy new baby items, especially the steriliser! lol Im regretting it now... It would be useful to put away for next time or even to sell on ebay as you get more if its in the original box with instructions!
Just one tip ive never come across! ;-PFirst baby born 10/06/10:heartpuls 6lb 10z:heartpulsI love my little family0 -
Evening all (or whoever's not in bed yet) been out all day with my best friend - have been putting off telling her my pregnancy news as she is a single gal who is running out of time and would love to be a mum, so was a bit worried about her reaction, but she was very excited.
So to catch up on a few subjects covered today!
Hngrymummy - don't worry about your weight, especially as you've been so sick, I am still 2lb less than my pre-preggers weight - I'm sure our time will come - although I hope it doesn't happen too fast as that sounds like stretch mark city
MV - wondered where you were all week. You bump looks very similar to mine and I have felt absolutely no movement yet so please try and relax over the weekend and I'm sure all will be fine at the scan
Ticklepenny and all other True Blood fans - sidereel is definitely the way to go, caught up all of the second series there after it transfer to Sky (which we don't have) and now can't wait for each episode to air in the US and be posted up.
And finally, whoever was asking about pregnancy yoga, my teacher makes sure she asks each week how we are doing physically and actively says not to push ourselves in particular areas we have any aches or pains, telling individuals how they can adapt the movements accordingly where they need to.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
I didn't go in last night:o I went to bed with paracetomal but can't say I really slept much - little bits here and there. Been proper awake since 4am.
DH is at work until 9am and I did think yes I'm def going to phone up labour ward when he gets home but I'm not feeling as bad as I was. I have that kind of flu like feeling but my temp is fine. I'll see what the next few hours bring. This time as soon as I really feel bad I AM GOING IN!! My head is in the "right place" to go hospital and as I know once I'm in that's it... and I know DH and DS will cope must put some washing on and do a tidy up, write a shopping list....:rotfl:
See... I also blabber on and moan 1st thing in morning as well;):DBLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120
