  • Me neither......I'm willing it to happen soon.

    Welcome pawpurss

    ***Weird question alert!***

Does anyone else (obv those with immenent due dates excluded) forget they are PG?? My bump is no different to my pot belly, I have no sickness, tiredness, symptoms, I dont feel baby moving. I literally forget I am Pg. It worries me at the mo that I feel so detached. Surely as it is my first it should be my number one thought all day??

Yes I am still like that and I am 39+4 today

Dusty, I have felt detached from my bump both times, it doesn't feel like a baby to me. I'm really looking forward to meeting my little girl, and can't wait to start planning lovely things (have banned myself from shopping til we've moved house), but I don't really associate it with my fat tummy, even though she is a real kicker :)

I was the same with DS, but it didn't affect me, once he was here it was totally different. I did find that our bond grew over the first 6 weeks or so rather than the instant rush of overwhelming love that some people describe, but I think that's less unusual than people admit to. As long as the end result is a happy child with a strong bond with their parents, it's really not important how you get there. No matter how you feel about a fat tummy, or a scrunched up newborn, your child will be the most special, wonderful, perfect person you've ever set eyes on, I promise :rotfl:

Anyone know what I should expect from my 25 week appointment? Was unable to get anything with the MW until 27 weeks (28 by the time I'd tried to call her, failed and then called the Drs back, and I have one at 28 weeks with her anyway) so have gone for a GP appointment instead. If I know what to expect, then hopefully I'll be able to make sure the Dr does everything.

    Thanks

Hi - not much to be honest. My urine was tested, and she measured my bump for the first time and then listened to the heartbeat - that's all. Just make sure that your 28 week one is the one where you have your bloods, and that Dr tests your urine and does some measurements and it should be fine.

EDIT - yes, thanks Ladylegs, I forgot to mention that you also collect the application form for the HIP Grant and your MATB1 form if you need it.

    6 months tomorrow - eek!

Merfe You don't hang around. Better start packing the bag. Not long til the 10th. I have a confession. When I get the all clear on my urine samples, I deliberately celebrate after with a choc bar.:o I should have Diabetes.

    Pawpurrs
Nice to see you over here. When do you find out results of the Nuchal? Worrying is compulsory on here so don't er, worry! - just a sign of our nurturing and caring maternal instincts kicking in already.

    Hngry
Did you get your HIP grant sorted at 25 weeks? That's the only other thing I can think of for that appointment.

    Plymouth
No fear. I'll be here dragging my heels into November. Emsy and Fuzz will be pushing in (or should that be pushing out?) first:p

    Emsy
Sounds like you're in prelabour to me.;) You'll be fine in Labour honey. If that b!nt Danielle Lloyd can do it...we all can.:D

Sammy - odds on favourite is Mrs Bufger - would be just his style to pop on any minute with a casual birth announcement.:D
    Yay for 1st movements too:T
I'd love a Halloween baby for all those future parties full of zombies and witches:)

Catwoman..Before I forget, I'd seriously order one of your teddy Bees if you start making them again. ;)

    Coops
Best way to get baby moving? Get poking your belly often - you'll soon get an annoyed elbow telling you to stop,:rotfl:

MrsTine /Ailluro Thanks for sharing your birth experiences. I agree...baby will be out when THEY want and not before.

    Krystal
Poor you - I remember thinking October was way off back in June but it has gone super quick so Feb will be here before you know it.

    Dusty
I have often forgot I'm pregnant in those 1st minutes of waking up...when I take a full-on stretch and cause agonising leg cramps. No wonder I have stretch marks.

Fuzz Hold your legs together and wait your turn.:naughty:

Can't retain any more info so sorry for not mentioning others. Nowt personal. I just have limited capacity.:rotfl::rotfl::o

It'll come out when it's cooked, just like all buns in all ovens...;)
DD was 41+6 they had wanted to induce me on the Friday but I managed to persuade them to book me in for the following Monday, as I really didn't want to be induced and had managed to convince myself the baby would appear over the weekend...

Well she did, she arrived on the Saturday night at quarter to nine, still time for the midwife to get home for a late dinner.;)

We joke she was an MSE baby, with her being born on Hallowe'en, we were out of the house, so missed the guisers and didn't have to hand out free sweets to them.:rotfl:

Lovely to see you over here.

GFH - Thanks love, the job is going great. Tbh, I've worked there before but left on good terms and always stayed in touch - and got offered the current position part time - so it's all worked out perfectly!! I meant to post the other day when you said about your wine on the weekend - made me laugh as I :eek:when I take holy communion, I'm that paranoid :rotfl:

I'm more worried about the risk of infection:eek:

For Gaviscon? Why didn't I think of that? Shame both times I've needed it it's been late at night and if I didn't have some then and there I would have cried! x

morning all. well its getting closer to D day. Still think this little one will be sightly early but also thinking that is just wishful thinking. I am having more and more times as i go on when i feel less pregnant and when i remember i feel less prepared for what will happen!

We have no transport at the moment as my car has given up on us so if i do happen to go into labour soon it will be a ring round to various different people to borrow a car - either that or go for the homebirth (OH still noy keen).

Baby has been moving over last few days but certainly a lot less than previous weeks. Am guessing that there is just less room to move. Also feeling more uncomfortable in foof area so maybe getting lower? - again maybe wishful thinking!

from what i have read (only really skim read past few days pages as this thread moves so fast) we havent had any babies for a while. Think we will have a splurge of them soon. Well hope everyone has a good day x
