But when someone says "news on facebook" they mean that someone on their friends list has posted to their personal page... Then we all sit in suspense until the person makes themselves known on here...
Yup I'm never quite sure who the real life person vs username on here is........don't want to be outing the wrong person  and they might well want to make the announcement themselves
I still have an upset tummy... Too risky to walk the 20min trip to church and back I think... Which I'm very disappointed about because I missed last week feeling rotten and this week I feel fine, just daren't risk it
Going to google it now, see if it's a common thing or if there's something I should be doing to help it...
I have had this on and off as well, I did with DD too0 -
Morning all. DD has the gastric bug and a temp of 104!
Talking of Tolkein, I like Arwen, but I couldn't bear to give my daughter a lifetime of "oh your parents were Lord of the Rings fans then"

GFH- How about Annwen? I have a friend with this name, and have never met anyone else with the same name.

Question for those who have breastfed already...
How many breast pads do you go through in a week?
I'm just hunting down bargains, best so far on branded pads is £3.00 for 50 Tommee Tippee in Asda, or 60 Lansinoh for £4.39 in Mothercare. Can anyone recommend any own brand ones? Reviews I've read have not been good.
Also found Asda selling 100g Bepanthen for £4.00 (normally £6.95 in Tesco).
And best price Lansinoh Lanolin so far is £7.99 from Mothercare.
Do these sound like the best offers I'm going to come across or given baby isn't due for ages should I hold out for better deals?Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Thanks tickle and Em, glad I'm not alone... Hubby's off making me toast... Although he did try and tempt me with a sausage butty... But we're going to wait until the baby has her nap so we don't have to share lol...
Giz, it's an unanswerable question I'm afraid... With DD1 I got through 100 mothercare own brand and then I stopped leaking... With DD2 I leaked for months... I was going through packet after packet (and preffered the Johnsons ones, mostly because they cost the same as the boots own but were better quality... I did like the lansinoh ones but couldn't bring myself to fork out for them... In the end I bought some avent washables... And this time around I've bought some medela washables because someone on the parent thread said they were better... And I figure I might aswell fork out for them now than spend a fortune on disposables first...
You watch me not leak at all now lol...
Oh, and I wouldn't bother with lansinoh... It's very expensive, you're never gonna use the whole tube... It can mask a problem instead of helping to cure it... And vaseline does the job just as wellA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Question for those who have breastfed already...
How many breast pads do you go through in a week? I really think it depends on how good milk production is, I only used about 4 a day but mates have used 12 a day.

Also found Asda selling 100g Bepanthen for £4.00 (normally £6.95 in Tesco). I like bepanthen but havent tried anything else since I found it. And this is a good price.
And best price Lansinoh Lanolin so far is £7.99 from Mothercare. Thats how much we paid for it with DD, and it will more than likely last you a few babies lol.
Do these sound like the best offers I'm going to come across or given baby isn't due for ages should I hold out for better deals? It really is a gamble and all I can say is that if prices drop further in the future you can always increase your stocks.
Alot of things will keep for baby number 2 (if you are planning on having more than 1 that is) so if you end up with too much now its just less to buy in the future.

I found the Lansinoh fantastic when i breastfed dd2, she's the only one i successfully bf'd. I didn't buy any tho, just used some samples i had been given, so was going to fork out for some this time round. But you say vaseline is just as good? May just use that then:)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)

I had lunch with a friend yesterday who has a 18 month old. I was asking her about creams for nappy rash and she was telling me about the Boots minor ailments service. Apparently if you go to the pharmacist and ask about a minor ailment (including nappy rash and cracked nipples, etc) they can give you a prescription without having to see your GP and therefore give you the item there and then for free. I checked the Boots website and it says this:
Minor Ailments Service
This service is for people who don't pay for their prescriptions and allows them to receive advice and medicines for a range of minor ailments, free of charge without having to visit their GP first. Examples of minor ailments covered as part of the service include headache, hay fever, coughs and colds.
This service is currently available in Scotland and Northern Ireland and from selected stores in England and Wales.
This would save you buying Lanisoh and Bepanthen and maybe some other stuff.0 -

Is it Welsh?Question for those who have breastfed already...

I used half a packet with DD2! Hard to say.
Going rate for Lansinoh seems to be £9.99 so that sounds a good price. I swear by it, but have never tried vaseline, also don't buy if you're allergic to Lanolin (that's all it is).
Random useless fact, farmers get more cash from the lanolin in wool than from flogging the wool for carpets et.c.
Bepanthen - you get a sample in one of the bounty packs, or used to. I'd hold fire for that, you won't use masses of it and a sample tube might do you.
Also, may be worth asking MW or HV when it comes to it for a sample of Lansinoh - again, as Krystal says, you'll never use the whole tube, though its good on cracked heels as well as nipples!!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Re the Bounty pack - I didn't get the first one at all, as MW didn't know about them. Apparently there's just a pregnancy guide in the first pack and the voucher for the second pack. But I signed up for the website and they eventually sent me the voucher for the second pack (which btw you get from Sainsburys - its the Emma's Diary packs you get from Argos/Lloyds). However, still don't have this pack as local Sainsbury's has been out of them for weeks.
I think OH is coming round to my choice for a boy's name and I'm ok with his choice for a girl - just worried that we should have more than one option in case he/she doesn't look like that name when it comes out.
Can't find any nursery bedding etc I like, anybody found any obscure websites I've tried all the main ones.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0
