Gizmodo, do you need to board the whole attic or could you just use the expensive boards for a small area and the cheap stuff for the rest of it? We had ours insulated with the cheap stuff for around £200 through one of the insulation companies a couple of years ago, its only now that we have put a few boards down to start clearing some of the junk before babs gets here, but we have only boarded about a quarter!
The reason I wanted to use board insulation is because we have rats that we are trying to get rid of. And although they can still chew board insulation my theory was it'd be easier to tell if they have come back and also to clear up after. That's the reason why we're getting rid of all the insulation in the first place. I think it's going to cost about £400 though. Not sure what to do. Think I need to work out what it'd cost to put the cheaper stuff up there and see if the extra cost is worth it.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -

So I have between now and the 27th to get my plan together to get my consultant to agree to the sun roof to get little madam out and stop my painI will be a woman on a mission.... Any tips?????

Im using my 2011 holiday at the end of my mat leave so not going back until 22nd Feb 2012 - if I go back at all.
Don't forget as well that you should also accrue your bank holidays but these can be absorbed into your holidays. If you are full time you are legally entitled to 28 days holiday which can include the 8 days bank holiday. However, you are also entitled to all your contractual benefits with the exception of salary so if you have 25 days holiday a year and work full time (for example) you should get 33 days paid if you are off for the whole of 2011. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/WorkAndFamilies/Pregnancyandmaternityrights/DG_175088
Also, don't forget to enquire about Keeping in Touch days - they are a government incentive but your employer has to agree to them. They're an easy way to get up to another 10 days at full pay while on Mat Leave, as even if you go in for a short meeting while you're off you may get paid your full days salary for that day. You may not get paid that though, you need to check with your employer. My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Evening ladies,
Wow, you lot have been busy today!
Shazza - (((hugs))) - there are a few of us due around the same date so we're all in the same boat. It is a bit of a limbo stage isn't it? Have you got your scan date yet? I'm still waiting for mine. I have to see the MW next week for my blood results - hope everything's ok!
You lot with your maternity leave are making me jealous! I started my new job today, but actually I've worked there before so it doesn't seem like new. We've negotiated a fixed term contract til end of Feb, so it will be lovely Government Maternity Allowance for me March onwards!! Unless the ConDems decide to cut that out *roll eyes* But my new job is 2 days a week as I really don't think I can cope with any more at the mo
I really can't remeber much else that was posted!
Billybobberyl - congrats on the birth of Fern - lovely name. Looking forward to reading the birth story
Dusty - I can sympathise. My hubby works nights too and when I worked full time we were like ships that pass in the night. It's amazing we even got pregnant!! It will get better - just keep the communication open and tell him to stop being a big girl's blouse:D

I think with the way things are going we'll be lucky if it increases in April.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -

Hello ladies and bumps and congrats on all the new arrivals!
My brain is resembling mushy peas so although I have managed to catch up on posts I cannot remember what I was going to post lol. I usually only get to post replies if the thread is quiet and I have nothing else to do.
Oh yeah - Maternity leave... I am going to speak to work tomorrow and advise them that I wont be returning before my leave starts. SPD is still naff, I tried walking around town for 10 minutes and now am in pain! The joys. I am really worried now as I am only 20 weeks and Know from past experience it will only be going down hill from here (pity party going on here).
On a brighter note OH felt baby move tonight, I had my hand on bubs and thought I could feel from the outside then OH put his hand on bubs and it wriggled on que!
I keep remembering things now.... diawoowoo! I have been having painful tummy cramps then windy diawoowoo, just another reason I have felt pants today (pity party getting to full swing!).
Anyway gonna stop befor e post gets too mahoosive even though when I started I couldnt remember what I wanted to post...mushy pea brain me!

Hi honey
BAD! I have been given Codine but it has NO affect what so ever she has suggested I try a tens machine but wants to check with my consultant 1st as they can bring on contractions
I too am worried about having a "natural" birth as my sister did this and as a result is still suffering with her Pelvis & back 13 years later
I have been reading up on early induction & elective sun roof given the choice I would choose a sun roof as I have read a lot to say that early induction is not always sucessful & can end up with emergency section. I would rather have the section from the outset.
I thought about saying to the consultant "can you 100% say I will not damage myself with a natural birth?" If you can;t then I want an elective section and I am not leaving this room until you agree;):o DH is coming with me to support me so he can use his sudo medical vet knowledge to help me
thats what i'm sort of worried about. i had spd both times but nothing like this, I haven't been at work for 3 weeks because even walking to the loo is agony. My physio doubts i will be back at work and I have 18 weeks to go. I was induced with DD2 and it was not too bad but this time my pelcivs is twisting and narrowing the opening for baby to pass through and as my 37 week inducment for no growth was 8lb 3 I am worried about stuck limbs and major damageMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
