LilacPixie wrote: »Only thing I have heard from hospital about bloods is I'm not immune to rubella. I feel a battle on my hands as I plan to refuse the immunisation
I'm with Krystal on this one. Just say sweetly "no thanks".
I had the bloods to test for immunity with DD2 and (as the midwives are used to me now) they said they would just use those results. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Krystaltips wrote: »It shouldn't be a battle Lilac, just tell them you don't want it and you've read up about risks etc... (Although, do read about risks too... Obviously) The midwife I saw last time said she'd rather see a hundred women who have informed themselves and made a personal choice than ten who just blindly follow protocol...
I know I'm immune, I had rubella as a newborn... I refused the blood test to check for immunity...
That is why I think it will be a fight TBH, i have had all my innoculations, but when pg with DD1 they said i wasn't immune and I had an MMR before leaving hospital, with DD2 they again said i wasn't immune and I had it put in my notes that i was refusing the MMR and the *insert expletive* gave me it without my knowledge with co balamine for my dodgy blood and the anti blood clot needles(fragmin??). Now I get the 'letter' and it says you will be given an MMR Innoculation before discharge from hospital after the birth. Like ell I will. Battle will commence.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Can you prove this? I believe they call this "assault" you may like to point that out, maybe in your birth plan?
Gonna check it with DH when he gets home. You could just write "if I am given medicines/vaccines without my consent, then litigation for assault will follow", then if they mention it, tell them to check the birth plan.
I'm incensed at the very thought! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
I can I have a letter from my NHS trust apologising for the 'oversight'. I should of gotten 5 once daily fragmin injections every day fllowing birth for 5 days and one cobalamine injection just before release from hospital. I got my fragmin then a student came around with kidney dish with a made up syring for my 'injection before discharge' which i prsumed was cobalamin then as we were leaving a nurse was oh you havendt had your cobalamin yet I said I had she said no and pulled out the chart which showed they had given MMR. I had already had a ding dong with a certain member of medical staff over my refusal to have it and I personally think it was deliberate but can't prove it.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

DH was a solicitor, so if you don't mind, I'll ask him, but am pretty sure it's assault.
That would solve the argument problem then, wouldn't it?Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
That really is stepping over the line Lilac!! I agree with GFH, definitely make a note of it all over your green book... I would also make a point of saying "and what's this injection for?" to everything they offer you, might get boring but it will get your point across...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

DH says...it is definitely assault, that the CPS wouldn't bother, but that it would be appropriate for a civil action.
Not that I would normally recommend people get litigious, but the threat of it may be enough to get 'em off your back. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

That's not on....I work for a hospital and if you refuse to have an injection or you state that you have already been tested/treated they are not permitted to give you any jab....you have to be consented...ie sign the form saying you are aware of any risks that may be associated with said jab etc.....I would definitely speak to a solicitor on this one if they go against your wishesThe pod landed and produced baby Timothy on 10th March 20110
