Just been midwife (35+4) and been told its breech and back to back - aren't I the lucky one
Anyway I'm being sent for a scan Monday and I've been told that if its breech they'll want to do that injection to relax and turn the baby. Does anyone know anyone that had this done??? Only that they've told me to take my hospital bag as it can break your waters, and I'm tempted to say nah ah girlfriend, until my chap comes home from Afghan late next week. He would be devastated if he missed it by days!!
Stupid thing is I feel great at the moment, just naughty baby thats misbehaving
I've had an ECV with my first she was head down till 37 weeks then turned to breech I had the ECV about 3 days later it was rather unpleasant but like me you can ask them to stop if it gets too much. It was unsuccessfull so I was booked for a section 4 days later. Section day came i was all booked in sitting in my gown signing the constent forms while the anethsetist sorted his equipment and some bright spark decided to do 1 last scan to check, and of course you guessed it the little monkey had turned again and was back head down again. So clothes back on and home i went everyone was like "where's the baby":rotfl:Sammy_Girl wrote: »
Official baby question - how many bodysuits/sleepsuits do we need? I'm building my collection up nicely but DH is freaking out that we've got too many - but we've prob got about 15 ranging from newborn to 6 months. How many do you have?
that depends on if you have a sicky baby and how often you wash, if you have a "clean baby" you'll use 1 vest and 1 sleepsuit a day if you have a sicky or leaky nappy baby on a bad day you could make 4 changes so 4 vests and 4 sleepsuits in 1 day. Of course if you find you are struggling to have clean stuff you can easy pop to somewhere like Asda and get a 3 pack of suits for £5.AKA: PC

They couldn't turn her whatsoever!! When I say they tried 3 times... I mean 3 times in the afternoon we spent on the labour ward. If/when you have it done you might like someone to go with you to hold your hand. I was holding some poor student midwife's hand before DH's!!BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120

Hi there, with DD I tried an ECV but failed due to stupid consultant forgetting to give me the injection beforehand. If you want to try and turn baby yourself low risk here is a good website. I wish I had found this website whilst pregnant with DD as I was very anti Csection (first time I have been in hospital since I was born lol).

Wow i am moving up the list fast now. Only 6 and a bit weeks left should little one appear on time like my other 2. Very Happy today as got confirmation that i will be getting my sure start grant money in my account tomorrow. When applying i was unsure if i actually qualified and as it had taken so long to come through i had given up on the idea. We have been strugling the last few months as OH hasnt been getting any overtime so only basic wage. I feel like a weight has been lifted
Mother in law gave us several bags of stuff that she has been buying when on special offer. I should be ok for wipes and nappy bags for quite some time. Also before going to see her i noticed Asdas value wipes have been reduced to 17p per pack from about 50p. These are what i use anyway so took a box off the shelf.

Hey all,
Newbie here, I've been on and lurked a couple of times before, but was overly neurotic about announcing to the world!
Anyhow, we're expecting a boy on 24th January 2011, making me 23+2. It's our first and we're ridiculously overexcited- although I'm also terrified!
Hoping to be a regular contributer from now on- especially as I'm going on maternity leave ridiculously early (22nd November) and expect to be incredibly bored- despite the long list of tasks I've been saving.
Tinkwings: you have my full sympathy- I'm so sick of work politics since letting them know, but in the end I decided that it was me+1 that mattered and I wasn't giving in to the abuse I was getting. A clear, concise, professional email like yours should go a long way.
Dustystar02: I was due on April Fools' Day and born on Good Friday! Have never lived it down in the past 25 years!
Hope everything is well with everyone else.
Ash
