Hi all - still pregnant and they couldnt do the sweeep as my cervix isnt low enough??? wondering if the midwife just had short fingers!!
Very fed up and cant talk to anyone without crying - (need to get over it, but not sure how??) Im booked in to be induced on Monday.... wondering if there is any chance of baby turning up in next three days by itself if the cervix is still high?? I hate not being in control!!
At least hubby is off work today and trying his best to distract me with old sonic mega drive games on the playstation!!

Apparently being on all fours rocking is good encouragement

Hi dee hi campers
Gems that sounds poo.......you psyche yourself up for these things, then you don't even get a sweep
I went to the opticians for a check up today and to get a spare pair of specs, and according to some snazzy photography of the back of my eye, my BP is apparently "significantly raised":eek: So have had to book an appt with nurse in half an hour to get it checkedI know it was good last week, not sure how suddenly it can go high? I assumed it would be a gradual thing? Was 120 over 85 last Thursday...........

Gems, have you got a birthing ball? One of my mates swears that bouncing / rocking on hers got her labour started, if you don't have one they are cheap at tk maxx or I think big supermarkets have them.
Another friend's midwife advised some type of essential oil in a bath, can't remember the name but sure you can google it. Not medical advice, but she used it and labour startedthe same day. Apparently the chap she bought it from said it was only ever bought by pregnant women.
Sure you have had loads of suggestions already, I know that if I go overdue (which I expect to) I'll tryboth the above0 -
Kept meaning to say 2GFM, do you use an electric toothbrush or a normal one? I find I can do more cleaning before spewing with the electric one as I have a bit more control over where the end of it is. When I use a normal toothbrush I can't clean my back teeth at all, but with electric I can get most of them. Hope you're not feeling too bad today. If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:0

Afternoon all.
(((Hugs))) Gems, sorry to hear the sweep didn't happen.
Plymouth, my midwife mentioned using the rebozo technique for turning a back to back baby (mine's not back to back, but I woke up with awful pain in my back one night which was most likely Flump lying on a nerve and she mentioned it as also good for getting the baby to shift from that position). You need a long shawl and a willing helper, the shawl goes around your back and then your helper pulls it sharply to one side to hopefully flip the baby around a bit.
I'm off to look at a nursery this afternoon, which is scary as I have no idea what I'm looking for. We are having a nightmare trying to find childcare, childminders seem to be like gold-dust in the small town where we live. Plus most only work 3 days a week anyway, whereas I ideally need 4 days. The nursery is in the next town and currently only has a vacancy for 3 days, but I'm hoping we could eventually get an extra day as their existing babies move up to the toddler age group.
Nearly forgot - is anyone else still waiting on Vertbaudet orders? I placed an order on 14 September, using the discount and free delivery code. Still no sign of it so I logged in and my order has been replaced with one dated 22 September at the full price plus delivery!! Bloomin' cheek! You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. Anyone know where I might be able to get a suitable back support for my chair at work? I've got to do a bit of research and then tell work how much it is and where from.
thanks

Sammy_Girl wrote: »Crikey - vests as well?? So are these worn every day or just when its cold and they need to layer up?
They tend to have vests (bodysuits with no legs) under bodysuits with legs as when tiny they get cold easily. And hats.
gems hugs. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
