:rotfl:My OH has been tinkering with the s0dd!ng car for months, using the 10 minute run to the hospital as an excuse for getting new parts.:p
I might ask him tonight about the "messing up the car" thing...perhaps I'll have to sit on a top weave drysheet custom designed for the car.
70 miles? Are you on the Isle of Skye?

We live in Lincolnshire near Spalding and because of various complications at the start of the pregnancy I was referred to Cambridge Addenbrookes and they decided that they want me to have my baby there, took the option out of my hands really but on the positive side its a fantastic hospital and they have been monitoring me and baby very closely so may be it is for the best.

I may just rent a hotel room for a few weeks so I'm right on the doorstep!

I think I have a sheet of tarpauling (correct spelling?!!) to sit on!

My mum would be there too, I know with my sis she was sitting on her hands at home as she knew it was hubby's time but wanted to help! Your MIL can f off I'd say, what's it got to do with her. I am v lucky with my in laws, FiL has done 2 return hosp runs in the last 2 days and has his mobile on constantly now in case i need him. fortunately his job (church minister) is v flexible so he can help, stand by is my friend who is also a minister but her car is high up so it's harder getting in!

That is how I feel about her now Rach. Just don't bother with her anymore. We have decided that Christmas we are having as just us and that id people want to see us then they come over but we are not cooking for anyone etc etc. I know my parents will be over & want to help out and that it will upset MIL as she is big on family & christmas but after all the !!!!!! she has given me this year I don't care anymore :o:o

beckyandjack - that helps loads. My other hip issues are a bit unknown as are mainly under control now and no one knows if SPD is linked. Sounds like your SPD was much worse than mine, friend also said that she found kneeling to give birth helpful. I am hoping to manage on G&A too, would prefer to avoid epidural if poss! I need to get DH to measure my leg opening, partly depends how I'm sat i think, it's better if I'm propped up than completely flat as takes the pressure off my back i guess.

lilac - are those the american progs? sounds ridiculous. I am actually finding walking is getting easier, think head is dropping further, keep getting pain down there which i can only presume is head bashing and can only wee about an egg cup full at a time! I am therefore hoping that MW has just freaked my by worrying and that i will be able to walk, bounce etc in labour.

by the way do they provide the balls or do you have to bring your own?!

Here they have the balls in the hospital(s), they have them in the antenatal ward and delivery suite even in the big hospital where I usually end up :rotfl:

Oh and those american baby shows make me cringe too! I had very limited mobility and had a brilliant labour, even though I was out of my tree with the G&A :o

Rach I'm glad you'll try to avoid an epidural, it did me no good, I had 2, one ended up a forceps delivery, the other one I said before had me on my back for three days and had to be 'patched'!

I'm also glad the hospital are getting their act together and that you're getting seen now and they are taking notice.

ok yesterday i wrote an epic post then the forum crashed and i lost it :(

    Here goes again...

feels like ages ago it was discussed now but AMH used to let you know the sex until late 2005 mid 2006 as i found out with DS2 but remember they stopped it not long after

Back (well left ribs) has been really bad past couple of days have been spending lots of time in the bath to ease it off but hey i'm now full term was 37 weeks on monday :j feels really strange seeing everyone discussing 20 week scans 16 week appts etc as it feels like not that long ago we were all discussing that now i'm one of the almost theres!!
Still don't think this one will make an early appearance but i have been bouncing on my ball a little bit more and i have my maternity mat under my sheet secretly hoping it will be needed...

speaking of those, i bought some huggies changing mats when they were half price at sainsburys to use in the bed in car if my waters went bu after opening them i really do think they were more made for a more how shall i put it petite posterior :p so i bought the boots maternity mats which are much more up for the job i think, i have put 3 huggies mats in the glove compartment if needed

Bags are all packed and now sitting in my bedroom tormenting me that they are not being used and everything is bought (except the stand for the moses basket which could be picked up on way home from hosp if need be)

saw midwife last week at 36 weeks and she doesn't want to see me again until 39 weeks which will actually be 4 days before due date was a bit miffed as even though the appts are a bit pointless they make the time pass by

Right, will try to post more often that should reduce the need for huuuuged posts:T but i do lurk everyday x

Forgot baby shows... love them although portland babies hate how they just whip them out willy nilly, would love to have the celebration meal after the birth there though! saw on another forum that on iplayer is a show called special deliveries which is a northern ireland based show 3 eps available on there, have watched 2 and they were fab x

BB you can try all fours to move the baby, but if it's head down i guess you need to be careful not to let it go breech!

Where are krystal, dreambirdie and fuzz? are you all of having a party somewhere without me?!

Sorry ladies I feel like I've monopolised the thread recently :(

re the portland, DH's new job has private medical insurance, not sure what level but we were joking last night that next time we can go to the portland:rotfl:

Your bound to be feeling vulnerable and your hormones are going to be up and down for a bit so make sure you talk to someone about this situation openly- health visitor, OH, midwife, friend...just don't bottle anything up. It is an exciting time yes, but it's perfectly reasonable to feel sh!tty once baby is here and depression affects many new mums so just see how things go. Good luck x

Thankyou ladylegs. I recieved a text from my mum saying that she was orginally only having them till the saturday but my brother is having the plasterers (sp) in and all the furntiure needs to be removed, (don't know which rooms he is having plastered) so now she has said she will have them to sunday and she said that also she had wanted to bring my nieces with her so they could meet their cousion. As much as i love my nieces and like to see them, i would have perfered to have been asked and also they are quite young and get giddy so not what i reallly need when i will have had a op and will be recovering. I have already had my niece a few weeks ago smack me in the stomach in front of her parents and not much was done about that. Why she couldn't have said that she could have them but she wanted to visit me in hospital as she said she would i don't know. She would never do this to my brother or sister, if this had been the other way round she would have made sure she went to visit them in hospital.

Rach that sounds like a much better plan, so glad you are happier after this appointment.

Moneysaver I'm the opposite I don't want anyone coming to visit me in hospital and for about a week afterwards, I've told OH I want to do the announcements this time because in the past he has done it whilst I'm in recovery and I'm really tempted to not do it till a few days later, I wish. I don't see why your mum asked to visit then volunteered to look after the nieces, is there a reason she is having them cos it sounds like they could go back to brothers earlier than planned so she could visit.

Growth scan is booked for 7th oct at 11:40 and I need to pick up DS at 12, I need to find someone who can get him for me, stupid half days.

Thankyou merfe I found out the reason for her having them, have posted above. Its not just this with my mum its been lots of things from been a child till now really, where she always puts my brother and sister before me.

MS12 - Sending you HUGE hugs and my thoughts and best wishes for you and your section. Mummy Cuddles :j:j Sorry to read about your troubles with your mum.

My mum is fine she would be with me in the delivery ward if she could be again ! She was there when DD was born as I was on my own. MY mother in law however is a B1tch and has finally now admitted to DH that she is upset with me and not happy at all that I am PG :eek::mad::eek:

Just remember that you DH & baby are the most important people now and your mum is just cutting off her nose to spite her face by the sounds of things.

Thankyou Tink, gosh that is really horrible of your mil, its between you and you dh having a baby. Im lucky with mine that she is really nice, unfortunaly she lives 200 miles away from us.

Rach - Glad you had a more productive appointment at the hospital today and feeling better about the birth plans.

MS12 - Sorry your mum is being difficult again. Quite frankly I would firmly tell her to come and visit another time if she is going to have your nieces this weekend. You really need your rest and having young children visit is far from ideal.
