  • Good luck for tomorrow MS12!

I had my 20 week scan today and all is well - which is such a relief - and it looks like we are Team PINK !!! (well she is about 70% certain - it had its legs quite tight together - LOL) DH did not want to know so he left the room, but its quite difficult to keep it to myself! Also have an anterior placenta so that explains my lack of movement feeling.

    Hope everyone else's went well!!
    DD1 - May 02 8lbs 6oz
    DD2 - June 05 10lbs 6oz

    DD3 - 24th Jan 11 7lbs 9oz

  • Thankyou 2girlsforme and congrats on team pink. Im feeling quiet emotional and anxious at the moment. Dh has ordered indian for our dinner which is lovely of him.

  • Hi All,

Hi MS12 Hope all goes well tomorrow. Try to put mum out of your mind, I remember for weeks before ds birth I was in such a state about my parents being at hospital at the same time as DH's parents and their partners as my parents had been foul to us for years and I didn't really want them there and the last time they had been in the same room as dh's parents was10yrs before at our wedding where my dad just swore at them and my mum was just plain rude! They still came to hospital when they wanted to, but didn't coincide with dh's parents. What I'm trying to say is, parents seem not to listen to what you want or need at this time in your life as they see it as a important time in their lifes! My Mil was the only one who did what we asked! But once in hospital I couldn't change it and it was as bad as I thought and I had a gorgeous little man to stare at!

Rach I'm so glad today was more positive for you.

Well girls on a different subject I booked myself in for a brazillian bikini wax today and Oh my goodness I wasn't prepared for whats left or should I say whats not left! It was quite uncomfortable but not too bad, but now I'm thinking hey maybe thats not enough hair left, ooops! Obviously I want to maintain it to a degree but if I went into labour now I would be embarrassed! Anyone else have theirs done to this degree and not bothered about what mw's/dr's might think, I suppose they see all sorts! Oh but DH is so excited, what was I thinking, he id on late shift tonight, but given the chance he would wake me when he got in so that he could see it! Men! Anyway its still stinging a bit so its off limits for now! Maybe I should have done this last time when I was overdue as he wouldn't dtd to try to get baby to come, must remember this!

Anyway will be back soon ds to put to bed!

I went last Saturday. It seems that they are all run differently so I would say it's worth going once to see what it's like. I would say be there for the minute it opens.

Ours wasn't separate stalls like a boot sale, everything was organised into sections/sizes/sex and you grabbed what you wanted and paid for the lot at the end (so no bargaining). It was definitely worth it though. We paid £1 each to get in, then £6.50 on "what to expect: the first year", about 4 winnie baby grows, hat, cardi, 4 bibs, vests. It would have been better if we knew the sex as the clothes were excellent and really reasonably priced. We'll definitely go again when baby is born.

Thanks Giz - thats interesting. I think I will pop along. Its only on for 2 hours so I will get there for the start. Better set myself a £ limit though lol

Good luck for tomorrow MS12. Oooh - mummy cuddles this time tomorrow :)

twoflower - I love a nice Brazilian :D But I'm not brave enough to have it done on a regular basis. I always get one before I go on holiday so that there are definitely no stray spider legs :o:D

Congratulation on team pink 2 girls. I wonder how the others got on.

Rach/delain, Yup bloody american birth programs. It costs 10k to deliver at portland. The tea and toast you get after birth is the best ever last time OH took in a little pot of jam to have :)

Crazytink - atmospheric pressure is supposed to contribute to waters popping. My MIL is a midwife so :eek:

Speaking of MIL she has been on duty both times when I have delivered. With DD1 it was quite handy because it was her who spotted that i was not quite right and they discovered the PPH. My MIL had three female still births herself then two male live births and we kept DD1's gender between just me and OH then when she arrived OH went out to make calls, walked right past his mum then turned around and said oh you can go in to see your grand-daughter if you want. I could hear her screaming at him to get his butt back there over most of the delivery area then the door flung open with her in tears repeating over and over thank you thank you and kissing everyone. :rotfl::rotfl::T

With DD2 the MW delivering kept telling craig that it was a proud day as she had delivered him as well then when DD2 arrived said she was perfect and didn't take after her daddy who had a hernia in his groin at birth. OH was very disturbed that this woman had seen his 'bits':rotfl:

So basically our surname is unusual, MIL has worked in that hospital for 35+ years and is one of the senior MW so everyone knows who I am, literally everyone. When on the ward after DD1 and 2 lots of random MW's used to specifically come to my bay/bedside to look at the baby and I just used to just think ok are you staff checking on her or are you just nosying they all used to speak to OH like they were family friends so fair enough then OH used to say things like, I think i met her in tescos before or i recognise her face no idea who she is though :rotfl:Surreal.

Rach I'm OK now, OH seems to think I'm going pale again so I rang the docs and had a blood test today to check my blood count to see if it goes down again :rotfl: I feel like a new woman honestly, I was walking around town today with OH and he was pushing the pram, I was walking normally without looking drunk or needing the pram for support even in open spaces for the first time since squeak arrived, and did it for ages before I realised :D and he bought me some perfume too, which was lovely, I didn't even ask :D:D

Although I imagine losing enough blood to end up in hospital again (and lord knows where it all went, I'm not bleeding from anywhere :o) would take a while as they only just gave me 4 pints at the weekend lol I've got an appointment to see the emergency medical consultant again on Monday. Not sure why, I think the 2 ladies at the clinic on mondays and tuesdays just like the baby :D

Lilac that must be really odd for you, one of my old school friends who I lost touch with, his mum works at my GP surgery and it's really weird thinking that she can probably see all my weird medical issues and she's known me since I was about 11 :rotfl: That story about your OH's mum bought a tear to my eye! :o Great that she was so happy :)
