    cereal bars
    energy tablets
    mini fan & spare batteries
tens machine, new pads & spare batteries
mobile charger (fits both our phones)
cotton wool (won't fit in baby's bag!)
    breast pads
    plastic bag for dirty washing
coming home clothes - loose top & trousers, knickers, socks.
    lasinol cream
just need to add in pyjamas for after (need washing) and light dressing gown, plus nursing bra

    baby's bag
    10 nappies
    vaseline
    small pack wipes
    newborn clothes - 3 x vests, 2 sleepsuits, 1 cardi
    0-3 month clothes - 2 x vests, 1 sleepsuit, 1 cardi

  • will you need change for any extra drinks or for hubby to go to the hospital cafe/restaurant if they kick him out for a bit???
IIRC you won't be needing change for parking, that right?

OK, I don't understand travel systems! I give up!

For example, if I was going to buy this (I'm not, I'm just browsing):

    http://www.boots.com/en/Petite-Star-City-Bug-Travel-System-Yellow-Grey_922734/?exploreAttributes=-_--_--_--_-Mother%20%26%20Baby%20%3E%20Pushchairs%20%3E%20Travel%20Systems-_--_-List-_--_--_--_-Left%20Nav-_-

It says it is suitable from birth but doesn't say anything about a lie flat position.

    This one does: http://www.boots.com/en/Graco-Mosiac-One-Travel-System-Orbit_1035526/?exploreAttributes=-_--_--_--_-Mother%20%26%20Baby%20%3E%20Pushchairs%20%3E%20Travel%20Systems-_--_-List-_--_--_--_-Left%20Nav-_-

But doesn't include the car seat base (the other one doesn't even mention whether it's included or not) - are car seat bases universal or would I need a specific one to fit that seat (http://www.boots.com/en/Graco-Junior-Auto-Baby-Base_53591/)?

If the pushchair has a lie flat position, do I also need a carrycot? Or is that just for ease of moving them when they're asleep and as an extra cot for downstairs?

Also, are the pram bits removable and replaceable with the car seat that comes with it?

Argh. Sorry ladies, so many questions - this is just something I don't understand!

if the pushchair lies flat then there really is no need for a carrycot unless you want one. Not all car seats have bases and even some that can come with them can be fitted without the base ie for use in a second car so again its a preference if you want one. We have never had a base in the car but never had an isofix car if we did we would get an isofix carseat with base.

I have to say Lillian that it is best to go to Mothercare/ John Lewis and ask for advice based on what you want, as it is something of a minefield :D
  • lilian if it lies flat then you won't need a carrycot, if it doesn't lie flat then it's probs no good for a newborn. Saying that, the travel system we got does lie flat and also has a carrycot.....I'm assuming that this is so baby isn't disturbed when moving them from pushchair to hosue if that makes sense??
Also means I don't have to buy a moses basket;):)

and if it all comes as part of a package then the safe assumption would be that its all interchangeable with one another

  • Also try ToysRUs they were fab when we went, explained what we wanted, gave aus a demo and a trial around the shop and the girl even let me try the car seat in her car coz it was the same model corsa as mine:T Although felt a bit odd that an 18yr old knew a hell of a lot more about buggies than we did:rotfl::rotfl:
