I'm terrible at bleeding on demand so the midwife generally has 2 goes and if it doesn't work she gives me the paperwork to take to pathology... They're fantastic there and can usually bleed me on the first attempt... But then phlebotomists spend all day bleeding people so they should be good!
She will do if she can't do it. I had Trouble with the phlebotomists at the hospital last time & with the one in my doc's surgery. When I was in hospital couple of weeks ago it took 5 diff people & ended up with the consultant taking it from my hand

Hi MI3 - I can't quote as I am on my phone but I've had the anti-d. They give you a bolus now at 28 weeks straight into the vein - sounds horrid but doesn't hurt and is no more uncomfortable than having your bloods done (which they will probably do at the same time).
Ems - I'm 31 + 2 and feel exactly the same, can't put my finger on why either!! Just hope (s)he stays put until at least 37 weeks!!:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! I've had it taken out of my hand more than once... It bruises easier, but once you've been stuck a couple of times in each arm you kind of give up worrying about bruises!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Good Afternoon All
Hope everyone is keeping well. Ive tried to catch up over the last week - but so many pages!!
Congratulations on Courgette's and Bunny's babies. Such lovely names and such bonny babies
I'm 13+1 today, and officially in my second trimester! Finally! Plan is to go through the first bounty pack I got and sign up for freebies, vouchers etc.
Is anyone else doing the Bizziebaby thing? How does it work?
Ladylegs - I'm jealous you have the Babystyle Oyster!! I think that's the one I'm going for - just going to find out the sex first so I know which colour to go for - can't do black as it'll get covered in dog's hairs0 -
My Grandad is 85 with wobberly knees and a bad back, but still stands on a train or bus and offers any female hit seat, pregnant or not. what happened to men like that!!! xx

lilian1977 wrote: »There do seem to be more but I find it all VERY girly - I'm glad I'm having a boy as that much pink and lilac would drive me mad! Boys clothes seem cooler - I love the logo t-shirts you can get, they're much more fun than the girly "Daddy's little princess" ones and stuff
Mind you, had I been having a girl I'd have probably said the reversex
I have already had 2 pink ones though - so really I should be all pinked out!! with DD1 I was adamant that I wasn't doing pink so she never had much, with DD2 though I decided I should embrace it :rotfl:she is such a pink girl now!! Have to say though I LOVE dungarees so if its blue then I will be buying loads and loads of them!!
Oh and forgot to say yesterday I got my Boots changing bag for free and also had £3 of my pack of nappies, and also I got the Tommy Tippee CTN starter set from Argos for £10.99, 2 big bottles, 2 small bottles, 2 spare teats, 1 trainer cup and a dummy, very pleased, only need a small amount of bottles for expressed milk as I intend to BF again (but need some for DH to take over!).
And!!! my (o)(o) seem to be huge these days!! never noticed that before with the girls either! :rotfl:DD1 - May 02 8lbs 6oz
DD2 - June 05 10lbs 6oz
DD3 - 24th Jan 11 7lbs 9oz

Thanks to the mention of HiPG i have jsut checked my bank account and it was paid in this morning
Still not decided what to spend it on, so moved it into a savings account for now. We have got everything i think we really need on freecycle or through friends and family! Only the cot is new, everything else is second hand.
I am considering real nappies? But would welcome any guidance on these, thanksLeopardlady

Sammy, if you find out you're having a girl... A little birdie might be selling the pink one... (just the pushchair though, but with extra snack tray and cosy toes...)

Although I'm happy to be getting the grant, I do see why the Government is scraping it. If they really wanted us to use it to buy fruit & vegetables or join an exercise class they should have given out vouchers rather than cold, hard cash
Definitely. To be honest, I am spending probably the same amount of money on the exercise classes I'm taking so it evens out - it's just that I've started them already so have taken the money for them from my baby savings! My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
