Congrats Smartie and Horse yayyyyyy!Oh, !!!!!!. I have decided I actually do not want this baby anymore :mad::mad: Oh, what a horrible thing to say
:(:( Contractions were coming on nicely, then they stopped and they have stayed stopped. Back to hospital for me in the morning
:(:(
Thanks for all the good wishes, ladies. It's just starting to feel like my body doesn't work or something. I'm lucky that this is number 2, if this was number 1 I'd be seriously thinking there was something wrong with me:(:(. 14 days over tomorrow, 21 by date I got them to change. I have officially lost the will to live
Courgette you offficially have the naughtiest of naughty babies in there! Sorry it's all stopped for you - that must be so frustrating! Sending you massive labour vibes for today. Thanks Gems, I guess I could get a taxi but the bus will also take me right to the door, just less comfy I guess. I think a taxi would probably be at least £10 each way. i just wish I'd asked DH to come, but with his interview tomorrow he already has to take the day off and would have to leave work about 12.30 to be here for scan. I am going to ask for crutches at physio dept as don't have any and my sticks aren't helping as they don't really take the weight off. I was wondering whether to phone but think turning up in a state is probably at least as effective!
I think once I know (all being well) that baby is all ok I will feel better, as you say it will have to come out one way or another. They also said I can talk to a mw when there so that might help.
I don't know what your situation is Rach but I would say stuff it and get a taxi - at least there so you arrive a bit more comfortably. You shouldn't have to be putting up with this pain. On the plus side, I suppose you only have a few weeks left but it must be horrible for you.
I woke at 3 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I think I started having contractions at about 6am they were different to what I've had before: back pain constantly which then got worse until was really intense, then it was like bad period pain and a slow cramp in my abdomen and pressure pushing down on my pelvis. I also had crampy pains in the tops of my thighs. Does that sound like a contraction? They were about every 10 mins but I took some paracetemol and went back to sleep and they've stopped now. I have my mw this afternoon so I can ask.
Bellymonkey's leaving hospital outfit has arrived! It was £4.50 from M&Co and I used my topcashback and had a 10% discount voucher (also got some scratch mits and some other little sleep suits)

Just a quick update for you all who would like to know
Congrats smartie and everyone else who's popped. I can't believe my gorgeous baby girl is 10 days now. Everyone seems to love her name which is good. We've decided on Scarlett Lucille. OH was happy that he chose her middle name Bless him. She is such a gorgeous girl. We're doing so well with breastfeeding which is saving us so much money. See, she's MSE alreadyShe's also giving me a 4hr stretch then a 3hr one
Alex seems to like her new sister. But she is also feeling a bit jealous me thinks bless her. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -

Rach, can you not get the hospital transport to help out. It might be a bit late in the day for today but unless you call and ask you'll never know. Also use the porters when you arrive at reception to take you to the appointment. I succumbed last week to using the porters and as silly as I felt I didn't suffer as much afterwards because I hadn't over done it.
I suggest you call the physio dept before hand to check there is someone to see you. You don't want to have get there and find they are all busy. They might be able to meet you at ante-natal with some crutches.
Whoever asked about TENS. I borrowed one from the hospital for last pregnancy and found it was really helpful, it gave me something to focus on before I got into the pool. I also used it for pain relief from about 35 weeks. When I remember I'm going to take it with me to physio and get her to show me how to position it this time and start using it now (am only 27 weeks). The consultant midwife said last week that there is no research to confirm that they bring on early labour, and backed it up with, if it was that effective at starting labour they would use it as a none medicial way of inducing ladies when they are term.
Courgette - I so hope you are having mummy cuddles now. Sorry to hear it didn't happen yesterday, you much have an incredibly comfy womb.
Congratulations to Smartie and Horse. Hope you enjoy your mummy cuddles.
I didn't bother with RLT last time, what is it actually supposed to do?
Have had hydro and physio this morning and just finished lunch. Feeling a little tender, (more so than usual), but that's expected after physio. A quiet afternoon on my bum, with my hot pack will hopefully sort me out.
DH has gone to see the Estate Agent about what we do about selling our other house. Its been on the market almost 6 weeks and has had one viewing. We've looked at the other houses in the area and ours seems to be overpriced so are likely to reduce it. We only put it on for that because the EA recommended we did. I really want it sold before Christmas as I hoping the money will allow me to have an extra couple of months off with baby before going back to work. I don't want to have the stress of sorting out solicitors etc after baby arrives.

I'm sure Alex will come around...must be a big change not being the baby anymore! I'm sure you do this already but just getting her involved when you're feeding can help, ie 'can you pass Mummy the muslin?' etc I know when I was born my sister got a new doll(pressie from me) and when I was being bathed my sister was bathing her baby too:) worked a treat apparently, although mum got slightly weirded out when sister decided to breastfeed the doll instead of bottle feed:eek::rotfl: Slightly odd to see a 15 month old toddler attempt to breastfeed:rotfl::rotfl:1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

Kat there is absolutely no need to worry about your appointment it is one of many that start at this point.
They will most likely just take your blood pressure, listen for a heart beat, ask if you are well having any probs.
They will also give you your matb1 and hipg form.
Don't forget to take a urine sample xxxI don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
Thanks ladies, i think the reason I'm getting myself worked up is because its the doctor im seeing and not the midwife... i imagine that im going to walk in and he'll say to me "and you're here because..." why cant our surgery just be normal and have a midwifeNow a mother to my beautiful daughter OliviaBorn 10th Dec 2010 weighing 7lb 1oz

one more thing... in my surgery they wont accept samples after 2.45. My appointment is at 3 so if i go down early i can leave it in the box, but is this where i leave it or does the doctor test it there and then? i dont want to send it off if he needs it?Now a mother to my beautiful daughter OliviaBorn 10th Dec 2010 weighing 7lb 1oz
