just got back from the MW and although i saw someone new all went well. Got GTT and blood results back -all ok. I am measuring the right size for dates. Also got surestart form signed so off to post that later.

Thanks to whoever mentioned the love hearts for heart burn-i am now addicted to them even though not actually taking for the heart burn!

    Morning all

sorry to hear it all stopped courgette ((hugs))

Just wondered if anyone would recommend using a tens machine? hubby has just asked if i wanted to get one. has anyone used one during labour before or plan to use one?

Also would anyone recommend one of those anglecare nappy bins? just been having a look at one online. :)
I got a secondhand maternity tens from netmums for £25 after a friend recommended hiring one. She said it helped her loads and she only realised how bad the contractions would have been without it when she took it off to get in the pool. I've seen loads of those nappy wrapper bins unused on netmums etc, so I'm assuming lots of people buy but don't use them!

Well my mum has gone :(:(:( had a complete meltdown after she went through the gates at the station and haven't really stopped crying since. Probably worse as I'm so tired after waking early and in so much pain. Could hardly get home even though was basically only getting on the bus so I think I am basically housebound now. Have to go to hosp for my scan this aft, which for some reason I'm really nervous about and dh isn't coming. Think I have to get the bus there as no option really, I would ask my friend to drive me but it's at 3.20pm and she has 3 kids to collect from school so won't be free I know. I think I will go to the physio dept when there and ask if there's anything else they can give me to help - literally thought my legs were going to collapse under me today.

Sorry for the moan just feel so sad

Thanks Rach - so sorry you are feeling sad:( will your mum be back to stay when baby arrives? would it be very expensive to get a taxi to the hospital as it can pick you up from your door and drop you right outside? do you have crutches?
Just think about getting to see your baby again:) i got a lil look at baby's face yesterday and it was so lovely to see it :) and even though there will no doubt be issues on how my baby gets out - knowing and seeing that baby is healthy and everything is working properly has made me feel very peaceful about it all!! xxxx

Thanks Gems, I guess I could get a taxi but the bus will also take me right to the door, just less comfy I guess. I think a taxi would probably be at least £10 each way. i just wish I'd asked DH to come, but with his interview tomorrow he already has to take the day off and would have to leave work about 12.30 to be here for scan. I am going to ask for crutches at physio dept as don't have any and my sticks aren't helping as they don't really take the weight off. I was wondering whether to phone but think turning up in a state is probably at least as effective!

I think once I know (all being well) that baby is all ok I will feel better, as you say it will have to come out one way or another. They also said I can talk to a mw when there so that might help.

Rach - I dont know how much your bus fare would be, if it was me (and it almost was yesterday until my sister stepped in at last minute) i would hang the expence and get a taxi if it helped you worry less about it and was a more comfortable journey for you and caused you less pain.
Definatly go and get some crutches from physio and get them to show how best to use them for your condition, as i was using them wrongly for a while and possibley caused myself more pain. As well as helping with the pain, and making you feel more stable they also help other people to be more aware of you if you are out and offer you seats and open doors for you etc.
Let us know how the scan goes and what the midwife says. x

I have a set of crutches too but they're a bit big to post :rotfl:

Might return them to the hospital when I go to my appointment on Monday!

    Sending Hugs Rach :A

I am off to hospital again this afternoon for a scan and a meeting with my consultant.

Not sure what they are going to say so it will be a question of watch this space.

Sending labour vibes to all those in need.
If you can think it........it will happen

Today im 25weeks and have my appointment with my doctor at 3pm. Have a feeling its going to be a quick one-our surgery doesnt have a midwife? So hopefully she/he wont turn their nose up when i ask for HIP form and MB1 form... sometimes i think people think im stupid!? Also hoping for a line for a week or so. have had really sore pains 'down below' which my other pregnant friend informs me is my pelvis?? Why did i not know this?

Kinda dreading this appointment and i have no reason to but i get like this sometimes over silly things :(
