    Morning ladies and bumps

Labour vibes to courgette, hope things happen for you soon. Smartie good luck for tomorrow, it will hurt afterwards but a week on from my section I am feeling not too bad just a bit sore and struggling a little to pick things up but DH has been great.

Can someone update the EDD list as we have called little man Thomas and he actually weighed 5 pounds and 4 ounces (hasn't lost a lot only 500 grammes in a week). We are all finally home (did on Saturday), getting used the sleepless nights (we were up for 3 hours last night trying to settle him) and I seem to be bfing every hour!! Also the staff in the SCBU were brilliant, really looked after us all made sure we knew what we were doing - even showed us how to bathe him, not sure you get that from a normal discharge.

Hope everyone on mat leave enjoys it before their lives change forever!!

Congratulations on baby Thomas, Sir M :j

We took a 7 hour trip to Bermuda for my BIL's wedding in July with an 11 month old and have been taking shorter trips since the beastie was 4 months old. Feed the babe on the way up and the way down (maintains ear pressure so no screaming), check in early and for a long flight make sure you have a bulkhead. You can have a cot there to make sure the baby can sleep or a bouncy chair so you can entertain him/her and not cripple your back.

The only problem is that the bulkheads have space for two babies, so there's a chance you'll be sitting next to someone else's horror baby (we were on the way out) or if the baby beside you is younger, your OH might be sitting in the row behind. We were sitting next to the worst child ever on the flight out, they had the father in the seat behind and the baby wouldn't stop screeching and trying to kick the feet of mine till I told the woman if she didn't do something to stop her kid kicking mine I was going to tell the cabin crew I'd heard her talking to her husband about how she hoped immigration didn't realise they planned to stay indefinitely :A
    Thanks for the tips

I had my 20 week scan this morning, even though I'm only 19+1 - all fine, and it's a girl:j:j:j

I didn't mind what we were having, I thought it was another boy because the two pregnancies are so similar, but I was wrong. Very pleased that we have one of each. Especially as it means I can get rid of a whole load of outgrown boy's clothes before we move house.

MIL will be happy as well, she has 3 sons and a grandson, so she'll be over the moon with a little girl to add to "her" collection.

I've just done all my car boot bargains washing - I know I've still got 4 and a half months to go but someone mentioned on this thread that it would be easier to dry things outside now than in the winter - which is a very good point! So now I have a washing line full of incredibly tiny clothes and I can't imagine anything ever being small enough to fit into it all!

It was me!! Ever the practical one here, getting DH to get all my stored away DD baby clothes soon so I can do this too.
Nappies all washed and put away.
well I am off work today, due to evil SPD keeping me up all hours last night, am 15+3.... it shouldnt be this bad already....I think I am going to have to chase up MW for physio referral and accupuncture referral that they now offer. I may also have to findout what painkillers I an take as paracetamol just isnt cutting it at the mo.

When I visited doctor he prescribed me co-codamol which takes the edge off a lot more than the paracetamol did.
I find the best treatment for the SPD is rest, rest and more rest which I know is easier said than done!! Good luck with your appointment with the physio.

Last day of the school holidays so I'm letting DD have a leisurely day, she is all ready apart from her school bag which she promises to do later!

As for baby movements, I'm definately feeling movement now too, not all the time but on occasions I can feel bubbles and shifting about, very nice feeling :)

    Congratulations on Thomas, Sir M!!

And congratulations on your pink bump Chakani!!

Good luck for tomorrow Smartie, can't wait to hear news! Also looking forward to hearing your babies name, I know you were looking fir something unusual!

Good luck Courgette: book in for induction, it worked for me; I got myself so worked up I started having contractions 4 hours before I was booked in!

Sir M: glad to hear your home! Feel like I'm over feeding my baby he has gained 5oz since Tuesday!

Tip to new mums (or anyone!) my hosp was like Sir M's, they would show you how to do EVERYTHING! I had no idea about feeding/ washing/ changing but some of the MWs were amazing, they showed me everything without making me feel stupid. Always worth asking if your unsure!

Congratulations on Team Pink Chakani! I want my scan now - mine is next Tuesday when I'll be 20+4 - apparently, although that's medically impossible so am expected to have my DD put back again (if that's something they do at the 20 week scan?) How long did it take? OH wants to know what time he might be back at work.

Sarahangel - well thank you for the tip about the washing - it was the cutest washing line I've ever seen :)

  • Afternoon ladies... hope all is well!

Im sick of constantly lurking on the board and have decided to become an active member of this thread... i love it! Everyday im on reading everyones stories and advice...

Im 24+5 today and am really fed up... Every so often i start to freak out that Im going to get nothing done for the baby arriving (22nd Dec) and anytime i ask OH or my mum for advice im told "dont worry it'll all come together!" its really starting to get to me!

Ive been having really weird dreams too-had a dream my baby arrived 8 weeks early and that it was too ugly to leave hospital!! This is my 1st so am probably just exaggerating!

Im off work at the mo as from last Thurs Ive had a sore throbbing back-went to the docs on Thurs who said she'd refer me to physio but think this was just a general thing they all do and prescribed paracedamol!!

Sorry for the rant, but i promise i will be more active that before on the thread!

Labour vibes and love to all that need them xxx
