Lilac - just had a nosey at the house on TSPC, it looks really nice. These style of houses are so much nicer than modern matchboxes!0

Cat - asked my MIL about the cleaning of the birthpools in the maternity unit. They are cleaned between each birth by a team of cleaners using the same cleaning methods and products as they use to clean the delivery rooms/beds/stirrups etc. She says the risk of cross infection from a birthpool would be similar to the risk of cross infecton delivering in a room/bed/ball. SHe is a delivery MW in the labour suite.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

Thanks for that Lilac, sometimes, I think I should just not listen to anyone offering helpful 'advice' it just makes me worry;)0 -
That makes you worry. Try having a MW as the mother in law.
ETA oh and getting flung into hospital and pretty much the whole maternity staff know i'm her daughter in law and strange and random midwifes telling your husband they remember them at aged 3/4/5/potty training or whatever while a head is crowning!MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Dream - Yes I'm with you on the discharge. I've had to start wearing pants again due to this as I end up with a snail trail otherwise, ha tmi I know  Funny as I mentioned this to at my midwife appointment and ended up at the hospital on Wednesday with suspected waters broken, but it all turned out fine! Not too pleasant it has to be said!!
Great time with my mum, lovely curry and chat. She came armed with a massive bag of stuff from my sister, so thoughtful - smellies, chocolate, a small fan for labour, lipbalm and some baby clothes which they never used which will suit a winter babe. Plus mum bought a growbag swaddle blanket, some little towels and slippers and scratch mitsMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Rach - I didn't go commando prior to being pregnant, but I just found it more comfy once I was. Thats had to stop again now!! Have invested in some more comfy pants....
I can't remember who was asking about how far gone I am to be sleeping on my belly still?? I'm 32wks. I do have my leg out to the side in the style of a murder scene chalk around floor kind of position!! I've always slept that way, so I'm glad not much has changed. Occasionally if the baby changes position I may have to go off to sleep on my side, but I usually wake up on my belly again. No I can't do any pillows/props either. Apparently my fundal thing is only 28wks though so that may have something to do with it. I get the feeling this will change very soon :cool:0 -
plymouth my fundal was 28cm at 25 weeks and it sounds like your position is similar to mine, seriously its not gonna squash the baby, babies just grow at different rates. If however it is uncomfortable then deffinately change.0

I ended up sleeping more or less right on my belly towards the end last time, I was far too uncomfortable any other way... The baby is in a big balloon of water so it's not going to get squashed...
My pelvis clicked yesterday rolling over in bed... I thought that wouldn't happen for a few more weeks...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

morning all, am looking forward to a day of sorting the nursery today (with me sitting and directing my mum of course!). Lovely to have my mum around. DH did the grumpy thing again last night, 'you've got what you want, a baby and 9 month holiday'...oh yes, it will be a real holiday I'm sure!
Just receoved a lovely bundle of stuff in the post from pigpen - very lovely of you xxMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Morning all,
Courgette - you had me all excited for a second then!! Fingers crossed for you.
Regarding sleeping - I've been lying in the recovery position, in fact was recommended to me by a physio at a parentcraft class I went to. I did wonder about squishing the baby, but apparently that's not possible due to all the fluid etc. surrounding it! I've managed to get some really restful nights in that position (bar the numerous wee trips) but it's starting to get uncomfortable as bump is so big so switch from it to lying on my side with a cushion between legs and another under bump.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one leaking like a sieve down below - I go through a couple of panty liners a day, and have totally trashed all my undies because of it, but don't want to buy anymore until after bump arrives. However I am going to go and get re-measured for bras today so may treat myself to some nice underwear ready.
QQ - has anyone been practising hand-expressing ready for their bump's arrival and had any joy in expressing? Started BF classes last week and am practising as recommended but nothing is coming out (she said it might not but just to practise, but finding it all a little frustrating)
