Thanks Chakani. Did they go through your blood results etc as well? Or was it literally just a scan?
No, but the scan is done in a different part of the hospital to everything else here, so I only saw a sonographer today. I think I got all my blood results at my 16 week midwife appointment, but I am exceptionally straightforward, and they do seem to be very organised.
The sonographer was lovely and spent ages showing us different bits of baby, and talked me through what she was looking for, which lots of them won't do, so it might be even quicker with a grumpy sonographer.0 -

I'm 22 weeks today and still not feeling anything that I can id as baby movements. I do hope all is well.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Hi all - 37 weeks today for me!
Today I called the homebirth team as I am having a minor panic over what happens if baby comes when my friend is on holiday - she will be looking after the boys for me when I go into labour but she is on holiday on Friday for a week. So I am worrying about what will happen if she is not here and I go into labour.
So I am getting a visit tomorrow from one of the home birth team to discuss the possibility of having a home birth.
To be honest I only want a home birth really if I a) cannot get to hospital in time due to the quick progression of labour and b) if I don't have anyone to look after my two little boys at the time I go into labour and c) I have heard that in the past few weeks that the labour ward at my hospital has been so busy and so short staffed that they have actually closed admissions completely  and sent people to other hospitals which are a 1/2 hour or 45 minute journey away (I would never make it in time! )
The reasons I don't want a home birth are a) I have no idea where to actually give birth - bedroom/living room etc. I really don't want to use the living room as we have just decorated and put a new carpet down! and I am not sure I want to give birth in the bedroom either and I don't know how much of a mess things will be in after the birth b) I am worried I will wake the kids if I end up making lots of noise due to pain c) what if the gas & air runs out or I can't cope on just gas & air...
Anyone got any ideas about questions I should ask or want to tell me to stop being so silly and stop panicking and that the baby won't arrive before 39 weeks!!!?:o:o:o

Chakani - congrats on a girl
Lauren - congrats on a boy
MV - I've seen messages in my googling where people haven't felt baby move till 24 weeks. the 18 - 22 is just an approximation, there will always be people outside of this. I know that probably doesn't help ((hugs)).Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -

My friend who is 7 months pregnant now, didn't feel anything until well after her 24th week. Don't worry honey, I'm sure it's fine xxNo, but the scan is done in a different part of the hospital to everything else here, so I only saw a sonographer today. Thank you - I didn't get my blood results at my 16 week, I think probably because I've chosen a hospital in a different district to my community midwife. Have called about them though and all is fine.

Thanks Giz.
I've read movements can start later too, plus I did see bean very moving about 2 weeks ago. The sonographer also reiterated that people with an anterior placenta often don't feel movements till later along.
I guess it's just when I read that others less far along are feeling movements, and I'm not, I worry a bit.
I guess until my next midwife appt (25 weeks) I'll just have to hope I start feeling him move.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
MV, I was well over 26 weeks last time before I felt my first move - and he is fine and healthy, and was 9lb4oz, so not a small one either. It is so reassuring to feel them move, but you saw the way yours was wriggling on the scan, you'll soon be getting booted in the ribs and wishing he would stop, don't worry!0

Courgette if you don't give birth soon it won't be a little courgette, but a big marrow. Everything's crossed that this is your turn.
Don79, I've been wondering too how messy a home birth is, I don't want to be clearing blood-splattered walls, or worse have permanent stains to remind me.
MV, I've had such a rumbling stomach since early pregnancy that its difficult to identify any movements among all that, but just in the last few days I've felt something that I can only describe like something flipping over in my belly. Its all down low, which would make sense as I have an anterior high placenta.
Tried to follow up the letter from the health visitor today, but just got passed around on the phone so gave up, can't be anything important at this stage anyway, right ladies??We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
