  • Wow Xmas, I want a labour like that. Take it easy as I'm sure it's been quite a shock.

Kk I think I only got a sweep as it was the consultant I was seeing today, and he said as I went early last time and was so favourable it would speed things up. I'm booked in for an induction on the 27th if bubs hasn't made it by then - I keep laughing at the thought of talking to the doc for 2 minutes, next thing he had two fingers up there giving them a good old jiggle, I'm used to females doing smears and stuff, good job I had tidied up my lady garden:eek:
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:
  • Blimey Xmas that's a speedy one! Hope mine goes as quickly. Well done it sounds like you coped brilliantly I'd have carped myself well and truly!
Good luck everyone else expecting cuddles soon.
    Hugs to those feeling pants.
Hello to the delurkers (seem to be a few) :D:T

Someone asked about movements - they reckon at least 10 a day should be about normal but as someone else has said it depends how active your baby usually is. Don't forget thought they do have quieter days - mine usually goes quiet just before I have a massive growth spurt then it starts up again.
Dream - I think your 35 week is just a regular appointment, your bp, baby's hb, feel position, urine sample etc. They might start to see if you have your bag packed/ birth plan ready. Tell them you didn't like the iron tablets and can they suggest an alternative eg spatone.
BTW, I don't eat meat and EVERYONE was getting on at me about "your iron levels will be low" blah blah. Actually, mine are excellent and I put it down to eating lots of spinach - I have it raw instead of lettuce in salad, on sandwiches and a handful in any rice or pasta dishes I make (added last minute so it just wilts). Buy the baby leaf stuff and it's much tastier. I probably have about a bag a week - not very MSE but it saves me having to have iron tablets then suffering constipation.
I think my baby has engaged now- feel a definite waddle and the last few nights have been agony on my pelvis. Need baby to stay put another few weeks until the painting is done and carpets down though.
Does anyone know how many maternity pads I'll need? I've got 2 packs of 10 for hospital bag and then I just have 1 pack of super mahoosive nightime ones. I'm guessing I'll be getting through a fair few packs so any advice would be fab.

38 days to go ...

  • HUGE CONGRATS XMAS!!! Alexandra Elizabeth is a gorge name, cant wait to see a pic!!

Tigtag, its prob just due to position of baby, but if your worried ring the midwife theres no harm done! when i was about 20/21 weeks i went to maternity unit as i was concerened about movements and they done a quick heartbeat check and a scan it really put my mind at rest.

Krystal cheers for that, so not really much diff than the normal midwife appointments. i wasnt meant to be gettin blood taken but they said they want to check it again as the last results showed i was anaemic.

MSLS I rem last time i was at hosp they had to do an internal as they neeeded to double check my waters hadnt broken, i had thee hairiest foof and legs, so now i try to always be prepared :rotfl:but now i actually cannot see it at all!

Last time my mw measured bump she was checked she was at my pubic bone and then said "I'm trying to be careful I don;t want to pull your hair":embarasse
I was mortified and am determined to never get caught our again! OH thinks it's very funny how I have gone "retro" :rotfl: but it's just too hard to sort out properly. Just a quick whizz with a trimmer is all I can manage now - have NO chance of seeing it! :rotfl::rotfl:

DH told me it was a bit like a mohecian down there with a stripe as I'd tried to hack away with the scissors but had clearly missed bits! I told him he'll have to trim it for me!

Yeah I've used the veet sensitive, tend to use on bikini line. smells evil but does work. I am super hairy which doesn't help. May just get a wax nearer the time but with hormones and all it will be so painful!!
