MOTM - my brain isn't working too well and it's a fair few years since I did my statistics at school but i think chances of a boy are 2 in 3. I.e. you could have 2 girls, or 2 boys, or 1 boy and 1 girl - so in 2 out of 3 of those possibilities you would get a boy hence 2/3 or 66%.
Just seen your latest post - good luck for friday, come and tell us all the details afterwards!!!!

I'll take your 66% as a better calcualtion than mine.

    I'll let you know re:Friday :o

  • Maybe a silly question, but what are the chances? I mean, is it my 'super swimmers' (term used on another thread) or is it to do with the female?

I watched a programme last night called 8 boys wanting a girl or something like that, and it's the male sperm that determines the sex. Of all the couples with loads of boys all after a girl only 1 couple managed it cause they were rich and went to the US for PGD (sex selection) still took a few goes though, the rest all had more boys, one cried her eyes out when she saw the little winkie on the scan screen. So according to the doctors last night with your history of 7 girls your chance of a boy is very slim I'm afraid, but not impossible.

  • Congrats Kitkat. How come your have to buy your sample bottles dream, your doctor or midwife should give you them for free.
Went to the gym earlier, baby didn't like it, he was hurting me. I find out a week tomorrow the date of my c section. Also a week tomorrow its my wedding annivesary. My nieces are coming round tomorrow for a few hours, will be nice to see them.

    Evening all

Long day for me, though have been careful physically. Didn't get in from work til 7.30 and had to go out again at 7.45. Anyway, it's done now and I don't have to rush in tomorrow (though I tend to wake early at the moment.). No way am I going to get everything finished but to be honest I don't care. As long as I've made clear notes about what has and hasn't been done it's not my problem that they're not getting cover in etc.

kitkat - sounds horrific, BUT he is gorgeous! Lovely name, I like Theo too.

Sorry I know there were other people I wanted to comment to but am braindead and need some toast then my bed!

My daughter is having her third son, due Christmas week. Her husband is one of three boys. We all had it in our minds it would be another boy and we were correct. Yet both his brothers have one child each...and these are girls.

I don't think I'll be doing this again - statistically its unlikely I'd get the opportunity anyway. Even though I'm feeling fine now, I just don't feel like my body is my own to do with as I wish!

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with having an only child - certainly won't be spoiling it.

I'm also finding all the medical attention a little overbearing. Seem to get told one thing is fine and then something else isn't. Yesterday, all was good on my 20 week scan, now today the midwife has called and I need more blood tests as I have enlarged red blood cells. So back to the surgery again tomorrow.
