Morning ladies
SirM - I'm not surprised you feel tearful. Just giving birth is a big deal, then you've got all the normal post-pg hormones sloshing about then you've got the much bigger deal of your boy being in SCBU and you missing him and being worried about him. I've been thinking of you quite a bit over the last day or so. All will be well and you'll be home before you know it :A:A:AUpdating soon...0 -
my last birth was actually really easy 3hrs start to finish small tear only used gas and air but i just keep thinking what if?
But i do remember the contractions were sore (!) but luckily it progressed really quickly
I realise this rant is totally irrational and all will be fine and hopefully i'll get to the hospital on time (another worry) but in the back of my mind their is a slight panic and lots of people say that 3rd births are totally different
x
This is exactly my worries too, last labour 2 hrs 20 mins with gas & air - very sore but very quick. Also getting to hospital in time & how long I should wait before deciding to actually go to hospital, whether I will leave it too late and not get to hospital - lots of irrational thoughts in my head this morning about labour/birth & its my 3rd birth too.
Hugs to SirM, hope you can get your little one home very soon & make the family complete...BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Morning all!
I dropped ds off at nursery at usual time so I have an hour to myself before I have to get showered and to my MW appt, then off to work! I have to have a meeting with my manager today (informal) HR has flagged up my sickness level, I had no idea I had been off that much, haven't been off for ages, its usually migraines that do it, cos I can't even drive, and not being able to take any meds now doesn't help! Makes me nervous!
I'm going to mention my pain in my hip/bottom to MW today I've been ignoring it for weeks now but its getting worse, its not unbearable or even all the time but it feels like my hip gets stuck and when I get up from laying down or sitting down it is painful and I don't feel I can put all my weight on it as it might give way!
Don79 - Hope your ok now
Tigtag - Hot flannel definitely, sorry you were up so early.
Rach - ope your journey to work isn't too painful.
Hitchins - Enjoy your scan!
Merfe - I've been having weird baby dreams the last couple of weeks, freaks me out in the morning when I remember them!
I'm sorry if I missed anyone, I was chatting to my friend in New Zealand so got a bit distracted and can't remember anyone elses post.
Right I must go eat and get to MW app!0 -
Oooh Emsywoo! Who is it who has given birth? That's very exciting! We're having a real rush of babies!0
-
Funny that we can get through childbirth pains but shy away from dealing with things like this!
- another thing I haven't been for ever is a cervical smear! that really does scare me which is totally stupid!
Pls promise me you'll go! The potential consequences of not going are SOOOOOO not worth it!!
*Rant Over*:p:)
Was gonna remain in lurkdom today but the above made me de-lurk:p And with this flurry of babies I just couldn't:D SM....bubba Monster is GORGEOUS:D You must be so proud:D Fingers crossed his levels get sorted and you're both home before you know it:D
To all the others(inc SM) who have popped :T:THUGE CONGRATS AND WELCOME TO THE WORLD LITTLE ONES:T:T
I'm also jealous of all these new arrivals:) Can't wait to meet my bubba:o:D
Can't think of what else I was gonna say..((((HUGS)))) to those that need them and appropraite vibes to everyone:D
Right back to lurkdom..I'm not the most sociable person today:o:( Best mate is having the big op at some point today, problem is...we don't know when! an emergency has come in so we're all in limbo atm...not exactly something you wanna have to wait for ....so please everyone keep everything crossed that emergency is easy to sort out and BM can have her cervix & half her womb whipped out in no time at all

Yes Sir Fuzz!
:o:o:o I know I am bad and don't worry, the midwife is aware of it so I will have to go and get it done. I just don't like the thought of my own doctor doing it and need to find out what options there are for getting it done. And I know! I can go through childbirth three times (soon enough anyway) but can't face that - its a totally irrational fear....

Oh my God - how is it that my friend's baby is now a month old (after being 15 days overdue) and yet I'm STILL only 18 weeks pregnant?! I seem to have been 18 weeks for ages!
Anyway. Sorry. Good morning everyone - hope we all had lovely BH weekends? I've forgotten everything I was going to say so hugs, labour vibes and smiles to everyone that needs them! xMy debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

DON you are not alone, me neither, everytime it has cropped up I've been pregnant but is on my to do list after this one is born. No need for lecture Fuzz I promise I will go get it done before next summer. It used to scare me too but after so many internal scans I'm not as worried as I used to be.
Fuzz hope your mate isn't kept waiting too long xx0 -
Sir M – don’t stop posting, we need to know you’re doing ok (or even if you’re not doing ok). Really glad you got to spend some time with the little one and get some photos. I love the name you said in birth story you’re thinking of (I was keen on it for us but doesn’t sound good with our surname!). Interesting re DHs and coming good in the end, I think you’re right. When my sister was so ill her dh was the main caregiver like yours for the first few days and he amazed us all. He still has a lovely bond with his son, more than a lot of dads so there’s definitely an upside! And on another positive note my sis would say that even though she was literally out of it for 48 hours after giving birth and has no memory of a lot of it. It hasn’t affected her relationship with her little one at all and even after everything she is pg with no 2 now!
Krystal – take it easy, can you skip the trip out and just put your feet up today?
Lilac – great news that you’ve got it under control at the moment.
Don – at my practice the nurse does smears. You can def ask for that I’m sure.
Fuzz – don’t lurk babes, we miss you. Thinking of you and your friend today.
Hope smartie is ok too.
Journey to work was fine, though ended up sitting on a cold platform for 10 mins as train was delayed and no seats. Not ideal but actually once I’m here the seat with back support and footrest is better. I am getting a lift home tonight as the carseat is here for me to take and a guy who lives quite locally is going to take me home with it. I know I should have gone off sick but at this stage it really seems less stressful to do what I need to and then I can rest to my heart’s content. But courgette be assured I am heeding your advice!
Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Wow, congratulations to all you new yummy mummys out there, and big hugs sir m, it can't be easy for you at the moment....we're all thinking of you and your beautiful little boy xx
I'm off for my 1st scan this afternoon, i'm excited but a little scared too. One of the girls i work with recently went for her 12 week scan to be given bad news, so it all worries me a little.
Anyway, labour vibes to anyone who needs them :-):)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)
