Princess_Coupon wrote: »Hi Ladies,
I'm 10+4 so just popping over from the under 12 week thread to ask a question/get opinions as it's a birthing question. This is my second pregnancy and I've set my heart on a water birth, and I wanted to ask what is prob a weird question but do you sit in it naked? I realise I'd have to be bottomless but I hate the idea of being topless for possibly several hours. After 5 years of fertility treatment before I had the 1st, there can't be a medical professional in a 50 mile radius that hasn't seem my fairy and that strangely never worried me. But would I be a total freak if I wore a bikini top/tankini top/nursing bra in the pool?
Yu can do pretty much what you want. I was birth partner for a friend and she wore a tankini top but it started to annoy her so she whipped it of petween contractions during 2nd stage.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
I wore a tankini top with a halter neck in the pool so i could get my boobs out if needs be to feed but it all happened so quickly i was dry and dressed before she was interested in feeding :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Can I have a moan? (sorry)
Went to my house today to carry on decorating and first of all couldn't get OH out of bed, then when we got there I had to wait for the midwife to visit. My BP is still too high, and she told me off for not resting. She also agreed with the mw at the hospital that bellymonkey is possibly not growing enough and was quie concerned and has now scared the heck out of me that I might have to get it out early. They've booked me in for a growth scan for a week on Weds when I'll be 37 weeks anyway so I suppose at that point they could well want to induce me.
Anyway, I've been in pain all day and OH just doesn't seem to understand that I'm 36 weeks pregnant and very, very tired. I've really done as much as I can but I physically can't be painting. My parents have been really good coming to help but all he does is criticise their work and say it'll have to be redone. I've been in tears all day.
We just got home and while I was putting washing out, folding dry stuff and feeding the cats he went on his computer. I've just got out of the bath and told him I felt unwell and he shouted at me. He's now playing street fighter and I guess waiting for me to cook. I'm so pee'd off I feel like he just doesn't understand. Sorry for the rant, I know my problems are nothing compared to some on here but I just feel like I want to be looked after and I'm being made to feel like I'm being a pain.
Edit, 45 minutes later he comes down to ask where it's hurting and make a cup of tea (and probably to see if I have even started cooking. No, I'm not clucking going to! )Bellymonkey due 25/09/10 :j0 -
I've been away for a couple of days and so much to catch up on...
Firstly thanks to all for your comments reassuring me about reusable nappies. I really appreciate it.
Rach and Krystal - we're almost certain we're getting Mamas & Papas Urbo. We tried out loads today and the only one that's a close runner is the Quinny Buzz. The only thing I'm not sure about is the wideness.
I've found the Urbo 10% cheaper from pramcenter and it's 10% off now at M&P. We're not going to buy until after Christmas anyway. So you never know there might be a sale on again in January.
Nene - congratulations:j Glad you got the water birth - did you actually give birth in water, or just labour? Was it your first time? Was being in the water better? Sorry for all the questions - love hearing about people's waterbirths.
Lola - Thanks for posting a birth story...I'll read it after this.
Sir Monster - congratulations to you too. Thanks for posting photos - he is absolutely gorgeous.

Giz, the urbo looks nice. There's quite a few in that kind of style isn't there...
I've just washed all the covers for my Babystyle Oyster, I'll be putting it on eBay this week... I only got it in April too... (If anybody fancies it... I'm thinking £150 BIN, footmuff and snack tray available seperately lol) We need to get the money together for a Baby Jogger City Select...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Your OH sounds very much like mine at times too so big hugs! I am 36 weeks pregnant today too and I think it is sinking in to him that there are things I just can't do now but still I always always have to ask him to help! and I just feel I shouldn't have to ask or try and let on that I need help.
And he is always asking me to make him cups of tea too! Like I am not in enough pain as it is moving about - holding onto the furniture for support is not a big enough clue then!
Stick to your guns and only do what you can cope with - hugs xxxBSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
BudgetBlonde, I think your DH and mine need their heads banging together. Mine has been better this aft though thankfully and is now making a spag bol for tomorrow's dinner. I just think they have no appreciation of how tiring it is at this stage. The tears thing is difficult as it always feels like a fine line to me between showing how bad it is and p!ssing him off! Sometimes they just won't stay in though! Big hugs for you and well done on not cooking. You must take it easy and get your BP down.
sir monster if you're reading, hoping you've made it home.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Have to admit I've found the buggy we got amazing, especially with the carrycot. squeak spends much of the daytime asleep in it (she's still not awake much) and it looks so cosy that I don't feel bad taking her out in it for longer periods. Also I need it for support, and it's great that it moves so easily.
Rach and BudgetBlonde your OH's do need a good talking to. Mine was quite annoying at one point moaning but he really came through for me in the endMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
