SirM - gorgeous pics!! It must be awful for you not being near your baby, fingers crossed you can both go home very soon.

Lilac - the same thing happened to me a while ago, blood in the toilet but I was positive where it had come from and I was constipated at the time. It was only that once or I'd have gone to the doctors. I think I was further on in pregnancy though so was feeling movements regularly. I'm sure you'll be fine, but you could go to the doctors if you're still worried.
  • Thanks everyone, currently in post natal ward without baby not sleeping listening to others babies cry and woman next to me snoring, probably get no sleep for a second night in a row. Just want to be at home with our son, sorry for bringing a downer to things really hope they discharge me tomorrow and so does he. His blood was going up but dropped slightly this evening so have increased his feeds, wish I was more mobile as could just go down and see him - but even with DH as support this evening I felt really faint so not a good plan, but we did get to cuddle him for an hour.

Anyway may write up birth story . . .

SirM He's gorgeous! It must be so hard not having him with you I don't know what to say but sending hugs for you all. Hope you are feeling better today and you get to take him home soon.
I've also sent you a FB my initials are AC:o

Did anyones newborn get a visit from a pediatrician AND a midwife? I'm debating whether to ring up for an appointment like they said to to go in (as its a bank holiday no one can come out) and ideas? I never had a pediatrician with Alex.

:jCongratulations to the new arrivals!! Sir monster he is such a cutie:j

I havent been on for a few days, as ive had quite a busy week which has resulted in me being in bed for the last 36 hours with severe hip and pelvic pain. Still very sore today, but have managed to make it down stairs.
On the plus side though my friends and family threw me a suprise babyshower on Thursday night which was just amazing and made me feel so lucky to have so many lovely people around me :T also i got so many gorgeous pressies.
Im hoping hubby will get on and put the wardrobe up in bubs room today so i can start sorting out stuff and washing clothes. I guess maybe i should do my hospital bag now as well as bubs is due 4 weeks today :)

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Sir M what a little cutie!!!:D:D:D *wipes tears from eyes*:o Huge congrats and I hope you and little man get to go home soon!:)

Rach... I think I'm like you in needing to be in control (list making sound familiar??;):p) and the "unknown" is worrying. It doesn't matter how prepared you are for childbirth... the unexpected can/will happen. Have you tried natal hypnobirthing?? I found listening to it helpful for relaxing.

I guess for me "knowing" I'm having a section a little bit of a good thing BUT sadly I know I was supposed to avoid it due to other health conditions so I'm trying sooooo hard NOT to think about all the bad things that could possibly happen:(

    I have a wonky bump.

We were right down page 2!

Nothing much to report from here, recieved a letter from NHS physio for back / pelvis problems, 2 weeks after doc appt begging to be referred so not bad timing :D since then though my solicitor has been on regarding getting private physio from the insurers of the guy who crashed into us back in may, so now im not sure what to do?!? I know i had back pain with the last pregnancy but its worse this time and the docs have suggested that the crash could have made it worse. Think i'll go with NHS then wait for solicitor to get in touch and tell me what she thinks is best

    Hope everyone is well x

    Oh I killed the thread:(

I've had some really bad news... my best friends little 1 year old daughter is in hospital and is being sent to Bristol Childrens hospital either later or tomorrow. She keeps having seizures:( I feel completely useless as there's nothing I can do being a week away from having bubs. My friend was soooooo excited about me having this little one and now she probably wont be around for me... just like I'm not going to be able to be around for her:(

Hopefully they can find out what the problem is at Bristol then she can be sent back here so I can go visit:)

I'm having a minor rant over this!!

Looks like I cant do this at my hospital as the service isnt offered (gonna check with the madwife anyway) but HOW can they do this?

Does anyone else agree with me that by not collect the blood / cells but throwing the cord and placenta in the clinical waste they are throwing away the chance of life?

I'm not a happy camper about this icon_sad.gif

Tigtag are you talking about private cord blood collection or NHS one?

If private, ie the cord blood is stored specifically for the future of your child, then this sounds wrong as usually the company appoint someone to come to the hospital to collect the cord blood. If there's any problem get the company involved - they won't want to lose your custom.

If it's NHS then collection only happens from certain hospitals around the country, they've specifically picked ones where there is a greater than average mix of different ethnic backgrounds. They are building up a bank of different tissue types for future use by anyone in the UK or worldwide, but they don't need cord blood from everyone to do this.

smartie - hugs, one of the worst things about being a control freak is feeling so useless if you can't just sort everything out. Hope your friends little one improves quickly.

Not the most successful outing with DH's family, but survived! Went to a country park about 15 minutes away, but it was really too far for me to even walk from the carpark etc and there was too much standing around. Add that to the fact that I managed to wrench my pelvis getting into the car and I spent most of the time on the edge of tears. No one apart from my brother in law seemed to realised how bad it was and that it's not just part of being pregnant but that the SPD is much more than that level of pain. I was happy to just sit on a bench and let them walk around but everyone was then standing around waiting for me to be able to carry on so I felt I had to. Anyway, I survived and am now laying on the bed, will be agony tomorrow I'm sure. I feel so down and tearful which is so unlike me :(

DH just came in from the other room as he heard me snivelling!

Baby has also been very quiet since last night and bump feels soft not so hard, think perhaps bubs has turned back to back as can't really feel the back any more.

    *stops navel gazing*

sorry everyone, not sure what's wrong with me at the moment.
