How and when to claim
To claim Statutory Paternity Pay you must tell your employer when you intend to take leave by the 15th week before your baby is due, or within seven days of your wife, partner or civil partner being told by the adoption agency that they've been matched with a child.
If you change your mind you must give 28 days' notice.
Your employer might ask you for self-certificate form SC3 becoming a parent that confirms you're entitled to the pay.
Form here: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/sc3.pdf

My OH needed a photocopy of my MATB1 for work.
I have to go in to triage this afternoon - I think I've been having a show all week - just a teeny bit - and have period pains, back ache and braxton hicks. Because I'm rhesus negative I think they want to check if I need Anti D so just waiting for OH to come home so he can come and hold my handBellymonkey due 25/09/10 :j0 -

HV... we had a visit the other day. Nosey so and so's:mad: I understand they have a job to do etc but what does the father of my 14 yr old DS have to do with this baby??? So what if we have no family whatsoever??? None of their f'ing business!! We lied about several things as it was easier;) All they have to do is look at my brilliant DS to know I'm not a crap mother!!:D

DH's boss is an idiot!! DH told him his 2 weeks paternity leave will be starting week of 7th sept due to c section... we were kind enough to tell him in advance etc. DH happens to have a weeks holiday next week and stupid boss said that week should be part of paternity leave!!!!! Ummmm yes DH would love to use a weeks paternity leave BEFORE bean is here... NOT!!!! DH said no of course and will be having 2 weeks after bean is born regardless of what boss says... especially as I'll be needing help after having major surgery;)

Thanks for all the Health Visitor info!!
I just went to the hospital to meet mine and she was so lovely. My mum took me so i didnt need to get a taxi and the health visitor went and got lots of Toys out for my neice who was with my mum and gave her books to take away with her. We were in with her for about an hour and she said the midwife will hand me over to her after 3-8weeks and then they will visit at least twice and then they can carry on visiting me or I can visit the clinic.
She was really helpful and wasnt pushy at all (i know this could change when baby arrives) She gave me loads of information about a Sure Start centre around the corner that i didnt know existed and all the groups and classes they do. I have been really worried about being quite isolated living where we do in a market town 20mins or more from my friends and family. But now i feel so much happier that i can do baby massage classes, mother and baby groups, music groups etc...... cant wait!! :jBaby No.1 due 27/9/10

Hopefully I'll drop down to the bottom of the page overnight. I hope the hospital have Internet access as I'm bring my iPod with me so I can keep in touch with everyone, including you lot !!
Hope things are going well for everyone

good new tinks about bubs staying put
feeling a bit better today had a very weepy day yesterday which is really unlike me. Feeling a bit more positive today after a good nights sleep.
The plan of attack is going in to hospital at 6.30 pm getting the first gel at 10pm and the being left until 7.30am for internal and possibly breaking water but bubs head is so far down I'm not sure if they'll be able to do that !!
Sorry for the ramblingBusy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0 -

I know where we stand... what makes it worse is that boss man's wife has had a baby recently!!!:rotfl:We think there's "something going on" though as he's at work practically 24/7 and only took a week off when his baby was born!;)
Rach... we had empty beer bottles on kitchen side, boxes of beers next to fridge;) Oh and of course there was my son with a broken arm!!:rotfl:BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
My tip for ladies being induced.... be prepared for the pain!!!sorry:p Being induced is supposed to bring on more painful contractions (well in my day they did:o) and I was in agony on the antenatal ward in front of other people's visitors:eek:BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120

If I have to be induced the next time again (which I will avoid as far as possible!) the one thing I will ask for is an anaesthetic before they insert the gel. I personally found it really painful and totally irritated my erm foof! They tried to induce me on several occasions and it wasn't until the last lot of gel (and a different midwife!) that I was offered the anaesthetic first and it made a real difference (it's just a gel that they insert before the prosstin).
Sorry but smartie is right. The contractions do come thick and fast initially but I found once they settled down it was much easier (and the gas and air was fab!)
All the very best to you and all the other ladies being induced soon, can't wait to hear your stories-oh it's so exciting! x"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0
