  • Hi everyone. Hoping someone can maybe put my concerns at bay. I am 16 +1 and I just dont feel right. I had really bad morning sickness for the first 15 weeks of my pregnancy - this is the first week that I havent been sick every day. I have been having cramp like feelings in my tummy for the past couple of days and whilst I am not crippling in pain, it is very uncomfortable and I am just not feeling at my best. I am so thirsty drinking about 4 btls of water + a day and I am still so thirsty. I am going to see my MW tomorrow for an appointment but I'm just wondering if anyone else has went through this at this stage or if there could be something else? I know you cant give medical advise but even if someone can either put my mind at ease or tell me to shut up.

    Thanks girls and gents.

@Sir M - ((hugs)) Good luck for Friday :) Just think of mummy cuddles you'll be getting.

@ejecoms - good luck for your 3d scan :) Will we get to see photos?

    @fuzz - I can't find refreshers either :(

@krystal - I reckon they'll be alright. Sweets don't really go off do they? I don't think violets will work - they aren't fizzy (I am of course assuming it's the fizziness that is the magic ingredient lol :o)

Well I just got back from a successful shop at Mamas and Papas. Got some over the bump jeans that are just so comfy but fit perfect around the bum, so happy as I've been really self conscious in my bigger sized normal jeans. Also got a dress for the hen do which I reckon will do for xmas as well. And a couple of tops that should (fingers crossed) see me right through the pregnancy. I know it's not MSE, but I'd rather be a bit more confident in my clothes.

While we were there we asked about buggys and car seats. They are sooooo helpful. I know they aren't the cheapest but the service was excellent. They've also said I can try out the car seats in my car, but I said I'd come back later as it is raining.

Sharkey, tell your midwife everything you told us tomorrow.

I don't know what your cramps are like, I've been having like a bruised feeling across the underneath of my bump (I'm 17 weeks). I also get what I think are round ligament pains - usually when I change position or get up too quickly.

My symptoms literally disappeared overnight back in week 9. I was so worried. I went from constant nausea (was only sick once) to feeling great and it worried me a lot, but everything was fine at the 12 week scan.

    ((hugs)) to you.

  • Yeah I think I will discuss with her tomorrow although she is very dismissive, so will see how I get on. GOing tomorrow for those antenatal tests for spina bifida and downs syndrome. The cramps feel like period pains, but sorer! I am probably worrying about nothing, but I feel for the next 6 months that all I will do.

Have just written out a big long reply and lost it all, not writing it all again.

Briefly have been signed off for another month, need to come off my codeine at 30 weeks as it can cause breathing problems for baby, had a referral for the pain clinic hoping they see me before 32 weeks, if not I can go straight in at 32 weeks.

Bets wishes to everyone who needs them, can't remember what's been going on for who now as too tired and sore.

I'm suffering from insomnia again... Nice to be listening to the rain while lying in bed though.

Welshlassie - sorry to hear about the pain still going on. Make sure you chase up that pain clinic appointment if you don't hear anything soon.

Sharkeybabe - sorry to hear you are worrying. I worry all the time! I think we all will until we have bubs in our arms. (and then probably will go on worrying... Think my parents still worry about me now!). The MS settled down for me too about 16 weeks but I don't know about the crampy pains. Good luck with the appointment and let us know how it goes!

I'm awake too ejecoms, though I'm hoping to go back to bed soon! Went at 11, up at 2 and 5 for the loo then mind was racing....mainly work stuff :( and was hungry, so have had some cereal, will go to the loo again and then hope I can get a couple more hours as I'm exhausted!

I think worrying is normal, everyone worries...albeit to different extents!

Think I am not going to call in sick today. I figured that being at home I can just do a bit of work, it's got to be better than none at all! I don't think anyone is going to be checking up on me at this stage!

    Morning all,

Sharkey - are you sure it's not trapped wind? I'm a martyr to it and it can be incredibly painful and last a while. Good luck at MW's anyway and let us know how you get on.:)

Labour vibes to all overdue/due ladies, and sleep vibes for you insomniacs. :D
