:p:p
And before anyone says anything, the separation and issues with his ex and contact are nothing to do with me. Although obviously I have to deal with them... And I'm hoping that I can take advantage of flylady wisdom and experience to help him do a better job than some of the KHs you lot have to deal with. He's trying very hard, and is prepared to listen to anyone who has experience of similar situations.
Well... for him, he needs to behave with absolute integrity and maintain the moral high ground at all times. It the only way to go and otherwise, eventually, it will weaken or destroy his relationship with his kids. This is in terms of financial matters and contact which must always be kept separate. He needs to turn up when he says he will and do what he says he will.
Then no-one will christen him KH!!
For you, be prepared for a fair bit of heartache, aggro and irritation. And thrash out early days with him whether you are forgoing your right to children just because he already has some (or not).
God I'm outspoken. Sorry GB.
Mrs C its def worse for you. I'm just worried about my bottom set year 11s who I love dearly but are not setting the academic world on fire. I would like to see them ace their target grades though and flip two fingers to their detractors!!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

And why does it matter to everyone that they are not setting the academic world on fire? They are achieving their very best, from the sound of it, and you think they're lovely - sounds like a brilliant bunch of young people, who will be a credit to their parents and school - no matter what their stupid grades are. Aarrgh -- I hate league tables and the stupid nonsense they make people think.

Valli's Friday Plan
Clean Living Room (dust & vacuum)
Clean Hall (because of spilled gerbil food)
Update Bank Account (the joys)
Clean kitchen
Clean my bedroom (dust & vacuum) full of dust due to stashing of DD's stuff in there while we decorated
Change kids beds
Iron
Peg out washing IF possible (towels -they need to blow)
Set up WM for tonight
Bribe/persuade/cajole DS into washing car
Wear fingerless gloves and count heaps of gold sovereigns and ducats (sp?) while cackling (see Pigpen's post; above;))
just checking - nope - list does NOT say clean DS's room - but, having realised it is a major pit and dust haven in there that's what I'm doing. He meanwhile, has gone 'out'. Car cleaning bribe offered to DD. DD has yet to move...
so
just dropping in on way to pick up moprag (ie old towel scrap, used for deep cleaning - they are washed and three are on the line) and window stuff...
MFW has tempoarily stalled while I await bathroom installtion by the way.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Beautiful day here, being missed by all the teens who are still in bed including DD's friend who is sleeping over after they went clubbing last night.
dusty - We had tears yesterday from DD, when we worked out it was the actual exam that she got U for, not any of the pieces of coursework, and I had to spend quite a lot of time reassuring her that no, she wasn't stupid or thick - after all, the coursework is actually more demanding, and she did okay on that. She may take the module again in January, but I'm waiting for the opportune moment to discuss things gently with her. Sounds like you have had a less than enjoyable time this week - treat yourself to a coffee in the garden with a gardening magazine or bulb catalogue! Try Peter Nyssen - no pictures, but cheap and excellent quality. Hugs.
pigpen - well, I didn't think they'd be anything you haven't tried already! She's still very newly hatched, so I guess she just needs a bit more time to settle! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
