there's a lot to be said for not having your OH under the same roof. In my case after 6 years of being in charge I really do think it would be hard to be with someone 24/7.
Too right it's hard. I've lived on my own pretty much since I bought this house (he's the first person I've allowed to move in) and after a month (a week of which he was on his own, as he house sat while I was away) we are both feeling the strain! Although the actual moving out was harder than we thought it would be, we both know its the right thing to do. Bear in mind we also work together... so if we're under the same roof, we're together 24/7 for real  I suspect that we'll spend part of the week at mine and part at his, depending on what we're doing at the weekends.

And you are right, your new OH needs to spend some 1-1 time with his kids anyway, as they sort out THEIR new relationship - you're an extra in HIS life, not theirs IYSWIM. They also need to be 'comforatble' and feel they are still a priority. And I am looking at this having been the child in this set up by the way.
And staying out of the limelight until agreements/arrangement have been thrashed out and put into place is probably best.
Definitely. I don't want the kids to be confused as to why he left. Or his ex for that matter. And he needs to build what I hope will be closer and better relationships with his kids. Where he spends time with them and gets to know them as individuals (one is 15, the other 10, so I think he probably needs to see them separately regularly as well as together).
    Valli wrote: »
And I also beleive that people should have a 'break' between relationships anyway, not go from one person to another.
me too. He needs to learn to be himself. He's getting there. he's used to doing what he's told and not making decisions, just going with the flow. I keep refusing to make decisions for him :D It can be VERY painful (supermarket shopping for example...) but he needs to regain his independence and I have no intention of giving up mine

OH said to me he isn't just interested in me for just my body BTW

I looked at him all innocently, put on a disappointed expression and told him that was just what I wanted;)

well - many a true word and all that

I have just realised I CLEARLY stated I am not ready for him to move in.

So I am showing my true colours really.

That is one VERY lucky Yorkshireman...

She must be... all those MSE habits she's acquired - I bet she barely spends a thing. There must be a fortune stashed under her mattress

I've done some work. Not much, but I might actually have finished some of last month's work :o. I could start on this month's tomorrow ... except... oh yes, one of my colleagues 'left' rather suddenly last week, so I have his work to review and publish (under my name, so I think it might get a major rewrite ...). As his leaving was related to the quality of his work I'm not exactly thrilled at the prospect!

Morning campers, am up and about just checking bits and bobs and sorting out my lists etc for the day..

Thought you would like to see a piccie of my sparrows feeding this morning, unfortunately I couldn't get the doves as they were eating while the door was shut and I didn't want to scare them. :)

Now bearing in mind this piccie was taken at 6.30am and my Olliecat was also wandering around the garden at the same time.. We have some very brave birds..lol

    Off to write my lists..

On the flying front I have put my ironing board up in readiness for the ironing.. And I have made the bed, mainly because Ddog Jet wants to go to sleep on it :)

    More later xxxx

I'm going to start today and see what happens. This will be my tester day. :) I've got a visitor coming round at 2.30pm anyway, so that should inspire me to clean a little. The top bathroom was done the other day and the living and kitchen were done yesterday, so i'm reasonably prepared.

    Okay... ::deep breath:: :D

    :)

ETA: It's now after 11am and i've decluttered the landing upstairs and done one wash (inc. bedding) and put another one on. TD is on. I've also made dinner in the slow cooker - beef & guinness. Mmmm... Plenty to freeze too. :)

I didn't update yesterday, DS2 was back to school for 1 day (wed) came home with a bad headache and was off the next day:mad:! He's such a drama queen whenever he's ill, but nothing was going to move him from his pit, where he spent most of yesterday, and I had an appointment at 9.05 so let him stay there. He's off to school today with a flea in his ear and some paracetamol in his bag, with the words "they don't work unless you take them!!"
He's had this kind of headache before, and I'm sure its a combination of the heat, dehydration and his attitude to the pain because if you can get him to take a painkiller with a glass of water AND catch his attention for 15-20 mins the painkillers "work" and he feels better, but if he just takes them and mooches around feeling sorry for himself then he's still sore. There's no placebo effect with him!

Well, rant over, peace descends over the house, I'm going to have my breakfast and catch up on here, and enjoy the next few hours alone:).

    It's only a game
