ammilucky yes adding the end dates is a fabulous idea, the final end date if known or 31/12? if unknown followed by daily etc. like bhg said the problem is many people are saying no to even trying to make the two boards work together, i know im coming down on the side of the regulars in my replies on here...but that is in response to what people are saying, if they ahve an argument as to why it wont work (without trying to find out) and oi have a counter argument to why it might work then im going to point that out. sadly some people are not prepared to even consider that there may be other ways to make it work and make both boards work together well as they were intended to do in the first place. slight tweaks to how they do stuff, slight tweaks to how i do stuff....may or may not work for all of us but until it is ACTUALLY tried and tested none of us know.
ppd im inclined to suggest leaving the monthly thread sorting until after xmas, i dont see how you can possibly fit in sorting it around everything else. and most of us will have a heap more time in january to help out and check which links need removed etc. dont put anymore pressure on yourself just now..im sure people wont mind waiting for it to be all sorted. i like the day of sections, and possibly 2 threads.
fortuna thats something for gilla and ppd to decide as they are the thread maintainers, it has come up in here before too. i much prefer when people add the link to the end of thread because then i can see whats new (and not in the op yet) easily and because it is then available for everyone who uses the thread immediately instead of having to wait for the op to have time to check pms and add to the thread etc. which sometimes can be a few days as naturally other things take preference at times. i sort of thought the overall idea of the threads was so own lists are not necessary, but it seems alot of people keep their own lists, i use the list in thread and simply skip over opening those i dont want to enter which means that i know when something is new as it moves soething else down the list so eg i dont open fru immediatly after dorset cereals anymore because there is another one (or few now) in between them.
glad thanks for tidying it up and unlocking everything0 -
thanks cat
all expired ones have been removed now thanks to the help from helen07, wont do any more until after xmas as so much going on just now, will give me time to think how to do the sections etc

We are getting a lot of dupes of recent posts, so I have just searched "win" and it looks as though no threads since 10:05 are being found.
Can someone repeat this search and verify there is a problem.
ETA 15:44 - Appears to be fixed now.
ETA 18:06 - FAULTY AGAIN - no threads after 10:050 -
I have checked and you're right - the search facility is not picking up any threads posted after 10:05am today.
I have sent an email to the techie team to let them know.

Thanks IB.
I have also sent an email and have started a thread on Site Feedback

there are quite a few newly expired comps in regs but can't send them to GO as there is no expired button there?

Just a little point about the main threads on the regs, I'd be more inclined to use them if I could see when something has been added. I keep my own bookmarked list as don't enter all of them but if people are sending PM's and the thread starter is just adding them it's hard to see what is new and what isn't
I think maybe a system like ToniQ is currently using where she puts a little note of what date and time she added it would make those threads a little friendlier
we did discuss something like this, (I know that some parts of the discussion are hard to find as it's lasted a few weeks and is mixed up with other comps discussion)
maybe an add date when a new comp is added to the list, or new ones always added to the bottom of the list and people could remember where they were up to?I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I agree with purple and others that nothing needs to be done in a rush until after xmas about the lists, thanks for going through them though to you and Helen:T
any ideas on extra sticky threads, more lists etc can always be tried temporarily and tweaked if we need toI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I'll do these now
hopefully now the threads are opened and a lot have been moved to GO, people will be more inclined to either post on the thread when a comp ends or pm a BG to move itI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I need to ask and sorry if anyone takes offence but this goes mainly to the reg posters, quite a few comps which are advents are getting split across the board as single comps, people will dupe if they are entering from two places, If a comp has a new comp a day, new prize for the run up to xmas it's an advent and it makes life easier to collate all on a single thread.
If there is an issue please say otherwise i'm clueless to why xx#JusticeForGrenfell0
