It explains here on the twitter help pages how to do it. This explains it better than I can:-

the way i see it having to open one more link to check subforum for new comps would add a couple of minutes at the most to time taken
That in part is my point, for the average user to enter the number they currently do would take longer, there is no time saving by splitting things up and more chance of the average user missing comps as well.
At the moment there are 745 viewing the comps section and it can go into the 1,000s. I have not counted how many different people have commented in this thread about the set up re regulars but it is almost certainly well under 5% of the people who use the comps board and of that very small percentage there is nothing like complete support to move comps away from the main section.0 -
Hi will soon be sorting the monthlies out so its easier for people to manage etc but in the meantime am going through the whole list to find expired comps, if anyone wants to give a hand then it would be great
looking for comps that no longer work or have finished, im currently going through the first post, so if anyone would like to help out then let me know
hopefully when its finished it will looks loads better0 -
the likes of the sci fi comps work as threads on main linked in dailies
Yes, that's fine, in the main and linked from dailies.
The point someone had made was they had been moved off the main board and stuck in regulars (don't enter them myself).0 -

if all the regular comps posted on main got added to gillas thread then that would be fine...but that doesnt happen. gilla depends on people telling her when there are new ones that need added which the majority of people dont do (thank you to those of you who do add links in the thread), in the same way a lot of people dont bother to request merges....it takes too much time to find the other thread and pm a bg so people pretend they havent seen (thank you to those of you who do take the time to pm merges).
the likes of the sci fi comps work as threads on main linked in dailies, but those that require daily answers get complained about becuase they are bumped everyday and get missed by people who dont manage to keep 100%on top of new posts...i dont know what the compromise is...but i cant see the problem with trying it another way then another if necessary until something is found that works for almost everyone.
take the advents for example...should each of those be posted as an individual comp every single day? they almost all require daily entry but thats nearly 200 comps on top of the normla 200odd comps usually added as new comps. i see doing that as doubling the length of time taken to go through main for everyone whereas them all in one thread people can ignore them completely if they wish to or enter them and ignore main.
the way i see it having to open one more link to check subforum for new comps would add a couple of minutes at the most to time taken...but thats the way i see it and mayube im missing something incredibly obvious to those of you that enter by methods other than end date?
anyway can anyone tell me how to get a link to a specific tweet please? instea dof just to the twitter profile.
I know I'm posting again and I said I wouldn't but I think you might have the wrong end of the stick, if competitions were posted as seperate entities there would be no need to add those ones to the sticky threads as everyone would come across them either as they are posted or by end date. It wouldn't work as well for the dailies as they wouldn't be there for very long, but I guess if dailies were the only thing on regulars it would only be a page or so over there.
The advents are a different animal altogether, not only because they are only on for a month, but because everyone is helping by posting them in the thread (toniq is doing a fabulous job keeping the thread updated when people post to the end) so none are being missed from the first two posts, and it's very easy to see which ones are new since the last time you checked because of toniq's colour coded added dates, which was quite frankly, a genius idea!
If everyone communicated to Gilla and PPD about the regulars as well as with the advents then the only threads in the current format that would be causing problems are the ones where say there's draws ending 01/12, 07/01, 16/02 and they are all posted in the same thread on the main board with 16/02 as the end date as people who enter by end date would miss the first two, and the ones which require early entry to be in all draws that follow, which is where the 'enter once...' sticky/section on dailies would come in.0 -

I strayed over that way at the end of last month and entered a few of those but where there were problems the post was locked so I could not add a comment.0 -

I meant to multi quote and reply to this in my last post too, I think the problem with using in here to discuss things is that not many people will read this thread.
There's a quote from toniq somewhere in yesterdays posts saying that some people don't even notice the advent sticky , so it's unlikely that people will read this thread seeing as it doesn't actually contain any comps! :rotfl:0 -

It might make it a bit easier to work through if you could put in a space or two after say every 10 comps then it could be done in bite sized chunks, those long lists are a bit daunting.
There has been no action on the facebook page this one links to since May.
