It might make it a bit easier to work through if you could put in a space or two after say every 10 comps then it could be done in bite sized chunks, those long lists are a bit daunting.

There has been no action on the facebook page this one links to since May.

it's this one about 25 posts up from the bottom on the first list

    Win Kendal Mint Cake supplies

thanks for that, was thinking of putting all the comps into sections to make it easier, will take some time to do that but will get there soon i hope :D it is a very long list over the 3 posts just now so will see how it looks once finished and hopefully easier for people to use, me included :rotfl:

big thanks go to helen07 who has helped with the expired comps on post 2, will get started on removing those comps :j

I strayed over that way at the end of last month and entered a few of those but where there were problems the post was locked so I could not add a comment.
I've gone through 40 pages of reg comps and checked every one, it's taken 2 weeks, all expired comps have been moved to GO and all threads are now unlocked to allow people to post any changes on them :)

Has anyone been entering the Daily Mirror Instant Win advent comp - i'm dubious as yesterday they had 15 laptops to give away - when the phone lines closed last night there were still 2 left - tonight they have 50 cameras - at the moment they still have 35 left!!!! And there's only 40 mins of the comp left :-(

as stated in the terms all remaining prizes go into a draw, nothing at all dubious about it, they do this with all their instant wins :D

The problem with the two boards in a nutshell
    Zimages?q=tbn:ANd9GcRs3MmHG4JrC_u5mt1zVPlPX_XxRM2jBZv_L45CX2lEfPaGIHX5

both boards work completely differently instead of complementing each other

the main board is fast moving and needs less interaction by the BG's and users

the regulars board is slow moving and needs constant interaction by it's users and the BG's to make it work

if the regulars board is to remain then some way has to be found so that the regulars board and the main board combine seamlessly with minimum interaction by the both sets of users and the BG's

most of the posters in this thread don't seem to have any ideas on how to make both boards seamless and interactive

and a lot of the posters in this thread are involved in a Regulars vs Main board tug of war and are only putting ideas forward for one board or the other :(

The regulars board needs to change so that it complements the main board

this could be done by using the same end date format that is used on the main board E: the comps could still be tagged after the end date example E: 02/12 (Daily) (Monthly) (Weekly) multiple entry comps could have the extra tag (Daily ME) (Monthly ME) (Weekly ME) comps without end dates could have there own stickies something like (Daily Ongoing) (Weekly Ongoing) (Monthly Ongoing) etc

users on the regulars board would then be able to see at a glance comps that need entering A.S.A.P and users on the main board would be able to use advanced search on the main board in the same way thus combining search results from both boards

this would require less interaction by the users and the BG's who would then be able to move regular threads to GAME OVER more quickly

sounds good to me in theory but I'm not quite sure if it would work in practise ;)

so any thoughts good or bad or tweaks regarding the above will be more than welcome but come on folks let's all try and find a way forward that is acceptable to both board users so that we can all comp and live together in peace and harmony

and lets make the competitions boards better for all compers!

I know that I said that I wouldn't post again regarding the regulars board but I just wanted to try and bring some sanity into the debate and put forward an idea that might be amicable with both board users instead of the constant tug of war that is happening now! :(
great post which I'll look at in more detail over the weekend :)
one of my suggestions was that we split the monthly comps sticky so that one thread contained 'enter monthly' threads and another had 'reg with site/sign up for email and be entered into end of month draw'

Just a little point about the main threads on the regs, I'd be more inclined to use them if I could see when something has been added. I keep my own bookmarked list as don't enter all of them but if people are sending PM's and the thread starter is just adding them it's hard to see what is new and what isn't

I think maybe a system like ToniQ is currently using where she puts a little note of what date and time she added it would make those threads a little friendlier

Thanks all for your help on that ITV one - I thought it was a new competition! And as I couldn't find a link I couldn't really search!!

Feeling a little silly now :)
Thank you to all the compers!
