Ok, maybe not jumping in the shower - I think that may bring the ceiling down!
How old is your littlest one now?
And I thought number 3 would be enough but I don't think it is. It took 7 years to persuade OH to have number 3 though and I will be 40 if it takes another 7 years. Plus OH is adamant we are finished. Hmm... maybe a new OH is in order...?0 -
Work was quite good actually - isn't it lovely when you can just walk out when you want to?!
We walked back later on to pick DD up and saw lots of the parents too though I have got a really achey stomach tonight - not sure if pushing the pram there and back was the best of ideas!0 -
OK, so you listen to midwives and health visitors about putting babies on the sofa, but took not a tiddly widdly bit of notice when they told you to take it easy for 6 weeks after a section

My youngest will be 5 months on thursday, can't believe it really time has flown by. Weird as my eldest seemed to be a baby forever!!!And I thought number 3 would be enough but I don't think it is. Ooh so glad its not just me then!! Darn those maternal hormones...
And yes I agree with the others, take it easy, you have been through an ordeal physically and emotionally. Feet up, tv on. choccys out!

Having a much quieter day today. Weather is miserable so we aren't gong far. I'm trying not to do too much but it's hard when you see things that need doing and I keep forgetting that there are things I'm not allowed to lift. It's also hard to know how much is "too much".
Midwife is coming to take blood tests this afternoon to see if my liver is functioning normally again and also to see whether anaemia has improved. I think I will be fine - my skin has regained a pinkish colour, not the white marble colour it had in the hospital.
Very naughtily bought more Boots bargains. They had an offer on of Johnson and Johnson baby products £2.47 or 2 for £2.50. They also have an offer where if you spend £10 on baby products you get 200 advantage card points. So I bought £10 of products - however, it must go off the original prices as it gave 400 advantage card points therefore got 8 bottles of baby bath etc for £6. I also got a few sales items - cheap wrapping paper, two photo albums for Tom on BOGOF, some other BOGOF and reduced baby wipes, facial wipes etc and a 6-12 months baby sleeping bag for only £6.50! Total came to £72 but had £18 (website also giving 500 points on a spend of over £50) back in points so £54 altogether and when I added up the RRP it was just over £150. Must stocktake on wipes and baby products now though as I'm sure we have loads! Also kicking myself as I have a voucher for £10 off a £50 spend on the website (though I'm sure I'll use it at some point) and I forgot to go through Quidco. *slaps hand!*0 -
chocaholic, i have watched several c-sections, as well as many other surgical procedures. I know you can only see your scar but believe me it is major abdominal surgery and you have to be cautious for 6 months after it. you will have stitches inside as well. It really is one of the most brutal ops ive ever seen.
Look after yourself and get others to help whenever possible. there is so much pressure on women just after they give birth but you really have to be careful after a c-section.
Hmmm do you feel sorry for my patients, im a real bossy madam some times! As for being broody, im not suprised, hes so cute. you best start on hubby now if you dont want it to be another 7 years.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
Lol, I think I have NO chance of persuading OH into another one. I suspect i will just have to be content with three, although I did mention fostering to him yesterday (his only objection to more children is that one or the other of us may die in childbirth and he claims we have used up all our luck - man logic!!
)
Just been to Tesco's - not somewhere we usually shop but had stacks of clubcard vouchers for baby stuff. We just spent £59 but got 4 packs of nappies, 10 packs of wipes, 2 bedtime shampoos, 2 bedtime oils, 2 moisturising creams, top-to-toe wash, fairy washing powder, fairy fabric softener, finger paints(!), olive oil, dishwasher tablets, paracetemol, 2 Carex hand lotion plus a free Huggies nappies basket with (yet more) wipes, tissues, teddy, talc, baby record book and money off vouchers. We got £30.71 worth of clubcard points which I'm not really au fait with but I believe the value is quadrupled if you use them for deals so approx £122 of deals which should be enough to do some things at Blackpool. I'm not exactly sure how to convert to deals though - would anyone be kind enough to explain in words of one syllable how it works??
Also (and I'm just popping over to Parent board to ask this) is it normal for a 2 week (nearly) old baby to sleep nearly all the time? Tom has lots of sleeping time and very little awake time. Even when he does wake up as soon as you pick him up or feed him he drops back off to sleep. OH says we should be grateful but I can't remember DS or DD sleeping as much as this!0
