Well, OH back from Boots and bizarrely the woman there said they wouldn't take the extra stuff back because it's not on the invoice (that would be because I didn't order them!!). Not only that but he took the photo albums back (I ordered one on BOGOF costing £8 and received 4) and the woman refunded him for all 4 - strangely 3 on a giftcard and 1 on my credit card. I asked OH if he told them they were BOGOF and he claimed he didn't know. Oh well, I suppose Boots will recharge my credit card if they want the money back? If not, we got
- 8 x Johnson and Johnson bedtime bath
- 4 x Johnson and johnson top to toe wash
- 4 x Johnson and Johnson moisturising bath
- 4 x Boots baby wipes
- 8 x wrapping paper
- 8 x Huggies baby wipes
- 2 x 12 condoms (not for now, planning ahead while BOGOF!! but OH and I have very different ideas abut how long these should last! :rotfl: )
- 8 x Boots shower gel
- 5 x Boots facial wipes
- 4 x Johnsons moisturising shower gel
- 2 x cotton wool balls
- 2 x newborn nappies
- 2 x boots baby bath
- 2 x kandoo toilet wipes
How have Boots not gone out of business?0 -
Just ordered a £12 HMV voucher from OH's Toluna account and £10 Argos voucher from Ipsos. Will both go towards the Christmas savings0

Bet your OH worked hard doing all those ToLuna surveys, but I'm sure he'd be very grateful that you saved him the hassle of ordering the voucher!:rotfl:
I'm a few days behind and just caught up, but those pictures are absolutely gorgeous. Makes me feed quite broody (quite handy, given the circumstances!), and once again I was welling up!
I think you're doing absolutely brilliantly to keep up with everything, but like an echo, I do think you need to take it easy - there's no point being supermum if you're going to wear yourself out.
About the sleeping babies - when my DS was born, I don't think he slept for more than 20 minutes at a time for the first 8 days or so, which was torture to us first-time parents, who were in the process of moving house at the time (we never learn!). Then when he was 10 days old, he slept through all night (well, about 5 hours), and it increased each night after that until he was sleeping about 12 hours a night by about 3 weeks old, usually all the way through. The downside was that he was fully awake most of the day, and screamed the whole time to be fed - I think the gradual improvements we were both making with the breastfeeding helped with the sleeping, but when he was awake he wanted 100% attention. So I wouldn't worry about Tom and his sleep - just be extremely grateful that you're getting a bit of peace and quiet as unfortunately it's unlikely to last!!!
P.S. Stop being so bloomin honest - I'd never tell any shop that they'd delivered to much stuff. Different if it was a real person sending me something, but if a large faceless organisation is too stupid to control their stock properly, then they have no sympathy from me!0 -
Well, I think the honeymoon period of being helpful is over for OH. He is currently asleep in bed because "he didn't get much sleep last night" and I feel like saying Yes, you bloody did and I know you did because I watched you sleep while I was awake with Tom the whole night!! Tom was also asleep incidently but would only sleep while he was being held and cried the instant he was put into his moses basket - not that OH heard him crying either! This is the second night Tom has been like this, (not two nights in a row luckily, the night before he slept 12 -5 whcih was lovely though I did wake up twice to check he was ok) both on nights when the room was freezing (in my opinion - or at optimum temp according to the grobag room thermometer).
So OH has done nothing today, because he is so tired. Meanwhile I've stripped our bed, done the ironing, cleaned the kitchen, including moving all the crap that OH leaves everywhere, took washing out and put more washing in. The floors need hoovering everywhere, including the bedrooms which haven't been done since I went into hospital but when I mentioned this the reaction I got was "I know, I'm cra p at housework, aren't I"
Also he has man-flu. Well, actually all five of us have cold, including the baby, but whereas the rest of us are just getting on, albeit with more snuffling, sneezing and coughing than usual (and wow! it hurts to cough or sneeze) OH seems to require hot water bottles, hot juice, paracetemol and time lying on the sofa watching old westerns, grr!!
OK, rant over. Normal service shall now be resumed but I had to write it somewhere or I may explode (and presumably no-one would clean the pieces of me up afterwards!!)0 -

Yup, like he has £40 to get from Quidco this month and when I mentioned that he looked at me blankly and said "Just remind me, how did I get that?"0 -

How did you do that???0 -
OH Chocaholic - sorry to hear he's reverted to usual man behaviour! Not sure what to sugget - just lots of sympathy!
Also if it seems too cold for you - turn the heating up a little - if you're concerned about the temp then being too muhc for Tom, perhaps you could just put in him a long sleeved bodysuit rather than a sleepsuit etc to keep him cooler?

lol, it's ok, I just wanted to rant. I don't think he can help it - he's just a man!

I did get up and put the heating on. Tom seems to sleep better in a warm room with less blankets than a cold room with more blankets - even if the room is warmer than the grobag thermometer suggests. it's difficlt to tell before bedtime how cold it's going to be though. The last few nights the temp has been fine but last night was cold - probably because of the weather outside. We've had snow all day and DD was sent home from school again.0 -

I have no idea!!! Pure luck I think - I promise you there were no illegal baby drugs involved!
The first week or so were awful, without any sleep. I'd find myself doing what you are now - holding him all night, constantly on and off the boob, and getting nowhere except near to insanity. Then one night I was just so ill, bursting head, totally drained, that I lay down and when he started screaming that I couldn't physically move to get him. He screamed for about 10 minutes, then gave up and fell asleep! From then on, I would just let him cry for a bit before picking him up, and gradually he seemed to fall asleep by himself and stay asleep for ages. But, he was unbleievably hard work through the day to make up for it. At 3, he sleeps until between 8.30 and 10.30 every morning and gets really grumpy if we wake him up.0
