Woke up starving at 5.30 this morning so had to get up and make porridge. Just got back in from taking DD to school and decided to have a second bowl before I go shopping (again) with my mam. Justifying having two breakfasts by the notion that it's cold out and I need fuel inside me, not just the fact that I'm a pig!
Need to go shopping again despite the fat that I bought most of what I needed yesterday as practically everything my mam wanted was out of stock everywhere. Looked on Argos last night though and 3 of the things she wanted are in stock where we are giong today and even better, they're half price. I reserved them for her but haven't been able to tell her yet.
Also i really need something to wrap up for OH. Got him a magazine subscription but there's nothing to open on the morning apart from his £1 diary. Need some inspiration though:think:
Also need to get some housework done as the flying has gone by-the0by this week. Hyono is doing some "bursts of activity" later today. Hoping to be inspired by that.
I would like to at least- wipe down kitchen
- wash kitchen floor
- throw away last remnants of party food from fridge and wipe fridge out
- damp dust living room
- hoover living room
- mop living room floor
- hoover stairs
- clean toilet, sink and bath
- mop bathroom floor
- do two loads of washing (one is already in
- put away the billions of baby clothes that have taken over the house
- write work Christmas cards (staff) to send with DD tomorrow
- wrap OH's aunts' presents and write their cards
- make a shopping list for friday to include ingredients for meals to freeze and sweets / reindeer droppings for DD to make.

Wow! That's a hell of a lot to do
What kind of stuff is half price at argos? I have a gift card and could do with using it before wasting it on myself!!
How abou some toiletries for OH? Avon hve loads of offers at the moment and using quidco, could end up quite cheap - there is a gift set of men's minis.
And I know I've been spending too much time with teenage boys at school as have just found that last sentence very funny!!!Oh dear....CCCS DMP:Feb 07

There's quite a lot as I got an email about it yesterday. Lots of games - my mam's after the Harry Potter Scene it which is £18.50 instead of £37 (and it's the 2nd edition one - she was nearly going to just get the first edition for £15), erm, some Power rangers stuff and a Nintendo Wii game is what I've reserved but there's lots of other stuff. I think there's a link from the main Argos webpage.
Also for one week only Quidco are doing 6% cashback on Argos toys and gift sale items (though no good for my mam as she is using git vouchers).
DD has got a gift set of smellies for OH - don't want to steal her thunder!0 -

how do you make the raindeer droppings?
I don't know exactly - it's in a book we got. I'll send you a PM when I look it up.
Well, have so far achieved nothing, not a thing. Idled the day away with my mother, then have just come home to start work and fell down on my drive! Not a dramatic fall, sort of a slow slide where one leg started to slide and I just got lower and lower - probably quite comedic if anyone was watching! but have really hurt my back and pelvis, ouch!
Going to rest here half an hour. DD is going to my mam's after school. DS should be in from school abut now; think will try and persuade him to make another cup of tea and I'll see how I feel then.0 -
that sounds really painfull, you should take it easy at least for the rest of today, never mind for half an hour!DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0

Woken today, not by the need for porridge (though I've had some anyway) but by the carbon monoxide alarm. I think it just needed new batteries though as it was an intermittant rather than constant beep and it has shut up now the batteries have been changed. Typical that it started beeping 15 mins afer OH went to work though, so it was me who had to darg ladders out and find batteries. Still, last time it decided it needed batteries it was about 2am - never needs them during the day.
Feeling a bit better this morning, aches rather than pains. I must, must, must do some housework that I planned yesterday. OH refused to allow me to do anything last night claiming he would do some cleaning up. Did he? Did he heck! He made it ten times as bad. I've woken up this morning to spills on the worktops, dirty washing abandned beside the washing machine, rubbish piled by the bin (not in the bin, you understand, as it's full but onviously it would be too difficult for anyone to empty!), a half bowl of congealed beans left in the microwave, fat splashes and dirty pans all over the cooker top - and I've only dared look as far as the kitchen!! The thought of selling him on ebay gets more appealing each day.
I wouldn't care, as he went to work he said "Don't do anything today, just rest" and when I said I needed to clean up he said "Oh, it'll be ok for one weekend!" Not, well, I'll help, but we'll just live in the filth!!! Argh!
So need to do some of those activity bursts suggested yesterday, though rather than bursts of activities they may be bursts of slow shuffling around gently pushing cloths, vacuum cleaners and mops!
And woe betide the two boys if they mess it all up while DD and I are at the panto tonight!!0 -
So here's the plan!
In order to have a semi-tidy house by the end of the day I plan to do half hour bursts. I have 6 rooms so I'm going to do half an hour in each room to at least make it presentable. Obviously things like windows, doors and skirting boards will have to go by-the-by this week and hopefully no-one will be inspecting these areas too closely!
In between the half hours I will try to do sitting down jobs - or maybe spend time here
9.30 -10 Kitchen - surfaces, cupboard fronts and splashbacks wiped, ironed clothes taken upstairs, DD's birthday presents put on stairs to go up, table wiped, floor vacuumed, sink shined, cooker top cleaned, bin emptied washed and replaced bag, microwave, kettle and storage jars wiped. Cheated slightly as boiled kettle at 10 and vacuumed while waiting for it to boil and tea to brew. Haven't mopped yet but will when do living room. Looking better already!
10.30-11 Living room - put away DVDs and toys that go in living room toybox, carried loads of baby born/ baby annabell stuff up to landing to go back in attic (therefore making more work on landing / DD's bedroom!)dusted, emptied magazine rack and put out for recycling, cleaned TV and DVD player etc, shone mirror, vacuumed (including under furniture), mopped floor, mopped kitchen floor
12.30-1 Main bedroom - put baby vests, babygrows, hats etc into drawers, hung baby outfits, coats, snowsuits on hangers and hung as many as poss up, remaining ones in bottom of wardrobes on hangers to hang when OH puts another rail in wardrobe, sorted bottom of my wardrobe, removed all Christmas presents, which are now on bed as bedroom not finished.
1-30-2 DD's room - taken all Baby Born / Annabell accessories to attic / playroom, ironing put away, vacuumed bedroom, vacuumed landing, wiped window ledge, changed bed
2.30-3 DS's room - surfaces and window sill wiped, including electronics, bed changed, floor vacuumed and mopped, stairs vacuumed, main bedroom vacuumed where it shows (ie without moving bags of presents!)
3.30 - 4 Bathroom - toilet, sink and bath cleaned, windowsill wiped, soap dish and toothbrush holders washed, splashbacks wiped, floor mopped
Parcels for Dad, stepmother and stepsister bagged, cards written and whole lot sent to my sister's house where he will collect my nieces tonight.
In between jobs - [STRIKE]write cards,[/STRIKE] [strike]put washing in[/strike], [strike]take washing out,[/strike] wr[STRIKE]ap parcels, [/STRIKE][strike]sort purse and put change in sealed tin[/strike]
Also need to go to local PO (where I hate going) to collect a parcel the postman couldn't leave yesterday. - done, grr!
If you spot my green light when I shouldn't be here you have my permission to shout!0
