You are doing better than me on the ebay front - only 1 watcher.....no bids yet!!

Oh well, plenty of time yet - might have to make it "raise £100 in a fortnight" instead

Or even £100 in a month I think!!

Up just before 5 this morning. Been lying awake since just before 4 so eventualy decided to get up and get on! Flylady today is the master bedroom, and wouldn't you know DD is on my bed again. Don't really want her up yet so that will have to wait. Have emptied washer / dishwasher, put some washing in, wrapped an ebay parcel, done daily clicks and checked for my parcel delivery though. Parcel apparently left my local depot for delivery between midnight and one so should arrive today, hopefully will arrive early as my Mum offered to treat us to lunch out today, though if I have to I will miss lunch - I'm not having the bloody parcel going back to the depot!!
  • Thanks for the Christmas links Sea. My sound isn't working on my computer so I can't watch the videos but I prefer to read the info anyway.

Chocaholic! 0646 and you've done all that!! Oh my word. I am *full* of admiration! Take care about burnout later on today tho - a little lie-down might be indicated!
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Well, my parcels arrived yesterday in time to go out for lunch (which I offered to pay for but was refused!). I am over the moon with the baby clothes; in fact I emailed the seller to say I couldn't believe they had even been worn and she replied that she got a bit carried away buying and a lot hadn't been - lots still have the tags on. So I definitely don't need any more clothes now until baby is 6 months - please tell me off if I mention buying anything! Or even thinking about it!

My ebay-ing is going strangely. I have 7 items finishing today, 5 with bids and all with watchers. The bids aren't high but ALL the rubbish that I put on has bids - so as the purpose of putting those on is to get rid of the junk and not make money, then that's purpose achieved. Don't know why I'm surprised as it always seems to happen that the rubbish is bought and my nice tasteful items that you would really want are ignored.

I think we've come to a resolution on step-sister's wedding. My dad phoned yesterday and demanded to know whether OH had the day off work for it. I replied that his work doesn't do holidays until April. I could hear my Step-monster, erm, mother harping on in the background that April was too late so I pointed out that we haven't actually had an invitation yet. My Dad's reply was "She's not sending the invitations until she knows who's coming" Erm, ok, am I the only one who's floored by the logic of that?? I thought you sent invitations to find out who was coming!?!
So anyway, after being harrangued for a while, i just said to assume we wouldn't be there as I didn't know if OH could be off or not. DS doesn't want to go either so DD will go and act as bridesmaid and we wil collect her later on the afternoon and we plan to go away for our anniversary for the weekend (all 5 of us, seeing as baby wasn't invited to the wedding anyway)
My personal family is happy with that, even if they aren't!

Anyway, DD is desperate for the computer (no doubt to play on something highly educational like dress up dolls!) and I need to see what the flylady for today is (though I suspect kids' bedroom as everywhere else is done!). Will be back later - hopefully with a completely shiny house!

I think that the resolution on the wedding is absolutely the right thing. As for not sending out invitations until you know who is coming.......hmm

Your ebaying is a success, both buying and selling! Well done you!

I think it is the right decision too but I also think I am getting very selfish in my old age and doing what is best for us rather than doing things i don't want to do to avoid upsetting other people.

Lol...depends what you mean by a success! I'm not going to make much money out of it! Anyone doing a time and motion study would have a fit when you consider the financial returns compared to the time involved in listing, packing, posting etc. But I don't care - it gets it out of my house!!

If you go through your life only doing things for other people, where do YOU fit in?

Anyway, this is not just YOU - it is your whole immediate family - those that are closest to you, that share your every day life etc. If you think that doing things for these people is selfish then you need to think again, missus!!

You have enough on your plate with having a baby, low energy levels poor sleep etc etc. By reaching the resolution you have done, you are giving yourself and your baby a bit of positivity, good health and self love. That is pretty important right now, don't you think?

    OK, telling off over!!

  • Ouch! But thanks!

And don't get me wrong, I am sort of pleased that I have started to feel that way. Have spent far too long trying to please everyone else, especially when they aren't bothered if they please us! If I had been stronger willed years ago we wouldn't have been in (as much!) debt in the first place!
