Well, the best laid plans and all that...
OH and the kids went swimming yesterday and DD came home complaining of a sore tummy. She spent the rest of the alternately vomiting and dozing on the sofa. So no meal and fireworks for us.
She's looking a lot brighter this mornng and has managed some toast but is missing her dance / drama /singing lessons today.0 -

Thanks Sea!
Several things finishing on ebay today; ony two with bids although all but one have watchers. Means I need to get myself into gear today and list some more stuff that is lying around. I'm becoming very unmotivated again, but need to get going as have spent a fortune over the last few days.
Finished the shoeboxes for school so they can go in tomorrow and then I won't be able to steal the sweets out of them this week.0 -
We're doing the shoeboxes at my school too, although we've not started them yet - need to think about what to put aside for them and try to spread out the buying - thanks for the reminder!!
I've got a tesco voucher to list on Ebay - I'll challenge you to listing at least one thing by 9pm tonight lol - start small, eh?!CCCS DMP:Feb 07

Lol...ok I think I can manage that! Maybe even two items if I really push myself! (Having said that, it's nearly 11 o'clock and I'm still not even showered and dressed so who am I trying to kid??)
RE: the shoeboxes - Asda had some felt tip sets in a couple of weeks ago reduced to 29p for 50 pens, also nice fabric covered notebooks for 30p. Don't know if they still do, but they had masses of them in our local store. I also got a sort of lucky dip bag from Poundstretchers that had allsorts of erasers, stickers, sellotape, little cards etc and a set from a pound shop with a purse and fluffy pen and lots of hair accessories that was half price, so 50p. I also had scarves that I've never used and flannels etc from toiletries sets we've been given and not used and gt some soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste at wilkinsons. Finally we had some unused macDonalds soft toys so added them. The shoeboxes look great but I probably haven't spent very much on them this year. Probably the sweets were the most expensive items!0 -
Thanks for those ideas!
I'll let you in on a little secret - I'm not dressed or showered yet either - shhhhh.....don't let flylady know! Very unlike me!

DD seems better now. I certainly hope so as she helped me make shortbread this afternoon - she washed hands thoroughly so hope she doesn't pass on whatever she had to all of us! She's now thrashing OH at dominoes so must be recovered!
Listed half a dozen things on ebay although one was a relist so cheating slightly there. All items finishing today have sold, though not for huge amounts - will clear a BIG corner of my attic though so not all bad. Bit disappointed that one thing I have on there with 30 mins to go has 7 watchers but only one bidOh, well, that's what happens with ebay, I suppose (but not when I'm bidding - everyone comes out of the woodwork and sends the price soaring!!)
Was VERY naughty today. I ordered DD's Santa letter (I know, not MSE - just wait...it gets worse!!) and the company was doing a phonecall from Santa on Christmas Eve so I booked one of their final spots. She really strongly still believes in santa still (she will be 9 just before Christmas) so I'm hoping no-one shatters her illusions between now and then.
I do think I need someone to take my Egg card off me though. So far in the last few days I've booked high school musical on ice tickets for DD and 2 nieces (Christmas prezzies), bought DD and DS England shirts (reduced at kitbag) and ordered 2 Wii games and 2 CDs from HMV (when they were having 15% off day). I DID remember to go through Quidco and they were all bargains but the credit card bill is going up and as I pay it off in full every month it means there won't be much to put towards debt paymants in December.0 -
Hey choc, don't know if I've posted before but I noticed on your spends that your contacts are £15.50 which is the same as what my mum was paying, are they monthlies with Specsavers? If so, you can get them half the price and still from Specsavers I discovered the other day!No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Thanks Gemmzie. I checked on the specsavers website and I think the £8 monthlies are the ones you have to take out and clean every day? Mine are ones were you put them in and sleep in them, only removing them a month later to throw away and replace. I love them as it's like not even wearing contact lenses most of the time and when I wake up in the middle of the night I can see the time on the alarm clock!! (Non-glasses / contact lens wearers won't understand the sheer joy that gives me!!) Specsavers have reduced the price for £25 when I first got them to £15 though, so here's hoping for more price reductions!0
