I know! I feel exactly the same - always have those awful dreams that I've forgotten to get dressed or something - just terrible! I don't think my school would have let me start back on that day lol!

  • That's a kind offer, as long as you really can't sell it on ebay - after all, it was you challenging me to list stuff! Will PM you.
  • Gah, my Mum just turned up with a huge bin bag full of stuff she thought i "could just put on ebay for her". Desn't she know I have to be forced into listing my own stuff??
  • Not a bad voucher day - £10 for Amazon and £4 luncheon vouchers.

Also been having a read through the reclaiming PPI thread even though that kind of thing terrifies and confuses me.

I think OH and I have had 3 loans that *might* qualify.

    1. Barclays Masterloan - 2000-2004. I know this definitely had PPI on and the advisor said I needed it to get the loan. I remember as I was quite cross about it at the time. Also, when I'm thinking back in 2000 I was only working part time and self employed as childminder so not sure whether PPI would have been appropriate anyway.Just phoned Barclays though and they claim they have no record of the loan and that nobody ever, ever says that to make someone take a loan. I don't have the loan details anymore so not really sure where to go from here!

    2. Egg loan - have had two of these as had one 2004-2005 then redid it and think extended it. I paid the second of these off last year and got the PPI removed in August 2006 but am pretty sure the first one had PPI on too as I didn't want it but thought I had to have it. Have emialed Egg to ask how to get a copy of credit agreement but again don't have loan numbers (blooming shredding habit!!)

    3. Cahoot loan (OH) - this was also settled last year but have loan number for this so have sent email to ask how to get copy of credit agreement.

We have never wanted PPI on any loans but were always lead to believe we wouldn't get the loan without it. It was only last year after joining this site when we were able to say a firm no to A+L on a loan lasting 12 months...and even then the agreement still came with PPI added and we had to phone up and insist it was removed.

Not sure if anything will come from all this, if anything - will have to see what happens.

Good luck! I've never taken it, but I know they can be extremely persuasive when they're trying to sell it! A friend of mine just got over £500 in cash refunded, plus another £800 taken off the remainder of his loan balance!
  • Well, fingers crossed. I didn't really want to take it. In fact my Mum (who I took the loan out for as she couldn't get credit, even though i ended up paying it back anyway) said "Don't get that PPI - it costs a fortune". So I tried not to but the advisor more or less said I wouldn't get the loan with out it. There again, I was probably a push over - it's only since coming here that I know my rights, lol! Those sales advisors don't mess with me now!
  • Sent out invitations for DD's birthday party next month. I'm a bit panicked as she's having a football party and the footballer who is organising it said could have a maximum of 24 children for the set price of £80, (which I thought was fairly good as it cost us nearly £300 to have her whole class to a playcentre 2 years ago (before lightbulb moment, might I add) and even the "money saving" only taking a couple of friends out last year cost well over £150!) so i'm panicking because there are 27 in her class so we invited the whole class thinking they woldn't all come. However, we have 10 positive acceptances already and the invitations just went out, aarghh!

Please cross your fingers only 24 want to come.

  • Generally I sell them on ebay. Bizarrely people pay full price (or above ) for them. I usually offer free postage as I have billions of 2nd class stamps from mystery shopping! I do occasionally think about saving them up for Asda though I'm not sure if you can use them with your shopping or just in the cafe. It confuses me with them being luncheon vouchers.

They are a good rate of pay though - £4 for the survey, then a product to test, then £4 more for the follow up. And I've had 4 different product surveys this week including one today that I'm very excited to receive the product!!
