  • pandapaws - I am 5'8 and have a Mamas and Papas Pliko Urban buggy, the handles are a great height for me. I have also heard that MacLaren buggies are good for taller people!

Thanks Mazmack - we had a M&P buggy last time and it was fine for me, but DH at 6'4" struggled with that too! Also, they're a bit more expensive, which was fine last time with Mr Visa, but this time it will be Mr Switch instead, so trying to get something under £200 including the car seat & base.
I've just found a handlebar extension - and trying to decide if it's any good - won't bore Chocaholic with it here as she's definitely not interested in things for taller people, but it's on the last post on my own diary http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=512597&page=11.

    Sorry again for the hijack!
  • Lol, hijack away! I'm not bored by things for tall people, just madly envious! Would love to be even just average height.

Now how can it be that I have spent 4 and a half hours in the loft, thrown away 3 binbags of stuff (Yay! Finally persuaded DD to part with the magic sand!!), got another two binbags for Freecycle and several things for ebay and still I have only done a tiny corner and everywhere else is still a mess? Though I have got all the toddler books upstairs and onto shelves and sorted out my bookshelves of stuff from work.

I think I now deserve a cup of tea and a sit down watching the Strictly Come Dancing results (even though I crack every week and look on Digital Spy to see who goes out!)
  • Just done an excellent order from Boots

I got a gym ball (£2.70!!! On 70% off), 4 photo albums (BOGOF) and a prezzie for my mum (extra advantage card points). The whole order should have been £102 but got it for £54 with 750 advantage card points, £10 off code from Hot UK Deals, free delivery and hopefully 3.5% Quidco cashback if it tracks.

You know a while ago I would have just paid the £102 and thought nothing about it. Now I get immense pleasure from seeing exactly how much I can cut the bill by!
  • Don't like it when the site's down. On the bright side I get lots of housework done. On the negative side every time I come here and the site's not here I end up sidling off to other sites and spending money I don't have. :( It does mean my Christmas shopping is almost all done - still need one or two things for DS that haven't been released yet - but lots of things have gone on my Egg card to pay off at the start of December, meaning less will be paid off the marbles card that I need to attack next! :(

You're right - it's terrible! I reckon that the number of times we all press Refresh when we get the 'sorry...' message probably doesn't help either!!!

Well done on getting a good start made on the attic! Don't know where you get your energy from. We've just built a bed for DS (well, DH actually did it while I was at work, and I've been left to do the bedding and tidy up the debris!), and I'm knackered! Someone is using the inside of my stomach for football practice as well - had forgotton how it very rapidly goes from being cute and nice to feel baby move to being a real pain in the backside!

Great result with Boots. I had a similar one today with Mothercare, and it feels great to have made a saving. I'm also just waiting on the Quidco 8%tracking, not sure as I also used a dodgy internet code for 10% off - fingers crossed!

  • Grr... can you sometimes be TOO organised?? DD wanted a Bratz DVD / TV for Christmas but as it was £130 I talked her into an Asda version for £65 which we bought last month. Argos currently have the Bratz one half price for... £65.

I am so cross with myself. And I can't even find the Asda receipt to try and take that one back, not that they would probably take it now anyway.

Grrrrr !

But at least the Asda one won't have those hideous big-headed, silicone-boobed dolls on it!!!

Sorry, I am sympathetic really - dead annoying when you miss a bargain like that. I saw a Delsey suitcase in TKMaxx (have actually been looking at it for about 3 months), reduced from megabucks to £22, but didn't buy it. Went back today to get it as my parents were saying they need a new case, so ideal Xmas, only to find that it has sold in the past 3 days since I last saw it there. So the little travel bag I bought 2 days ago to match it (from a different TKMaxx, £8) now doesn't match anything!
  • DS off school again today. Apparently it's "review day" so we have to go in and see his teacher to set his targets for the next year but there are no lessons going on. What with the power being off last Friday there and teacher training day next Friday, he's only doing a 4 day week at the moment!

DD is at school - in her pyjamas - for Children in need. I have sent in some extra clothes to put over her pj's at playtime - they're hardly the sort of thing you can go out in and I hope her teacher has the sense to let her put them on first (He's a man so I have my doubts!!). The school is in the middle of nowhere at the top of a hill and the wind there is freezing at the best of times!

OH coming home from work at lunchtime today, not for a good reason, unfortunately. One of his friends (OH was his best man) died suddenly last week (48 year old!!!) and it's his funeral this afternoon. It's also the funeral of OH's niece's 19 year old boyfriend who killed himself on Monday after a row - what a waste!! Hoping OH will be able to come to the school with me at 4pm to see DS's teacher. He's never made it to any appointments yet. I'm sure the teacher thinks I am a (pregnant) single parent!
