  • Well, got to say I hadn't heard of it before this pregnancy. It does have a proper name but not entirely sure what it is (something pubic or pubis dysfunction). The midwife explained it as the ligament between the pelvis stretching and causing pain. It particularly hurts when I get in and out of car or bed, turn over in bed, stand up or stand on one foot (I know, I know - My mum looked at me bizarrely and said "Well don't stand on one foot!" but I forget when I go to put on trousers or bend over to look in a cupboard etc) but I can also feel it now when I'm walking or driving the car. Have learned to do a lot of things with my knees together - very elegant - I now get into the car like a lady - wouldn't flash my knickers if the paparazzi were there!!)

Got DD's shelves and floor under bed washed last night and put her booksback but there's still piles of toddler books glowering at me under the steps to the attic. Even worse, to get them on the shelves up there I have to clear out a load of recorded form the TV 80's and 90's VHS videos that have sat up there unlooked at for years. Wish I would think through the consequences of my actions before I start!!

DS is completely better today but his school have had a power failure and closed so he's still off. The others were sent home at lunchtime yesterday so at least he didn't miss much!

DD's school photo today. Sent her off looking sweet, clean and groomed. Sadly she takes after OH and comes home each day filthy, dishevelled and with hair all over the place. Hope the photographer gets to her early - if it's after playtime we've had it!
  • Ok, so how guilty do I feel when big bouquet of flowers has just arrived for me from work?

Mind you, slightly weird timing as I have been off sick for 5 / 6 weeks and baby isn't due for ages yet!

Now...does that mean I have to ...gulp...actually go in to the place to say thank you?

Nah, you're too poorly! Send them a nice card instead.

Your dysfunctional pubis (!) sounds quite nasty, and I don't think I had heard of that before. But I'll probably have convinced myself that I've got it by tomorrow morning! Will try standing on one leg for a while and see how it feels...! Poor you though, it's hard enough work without that added extra to contend with.

I nearly did what you did a few weeks ago, and found myself in Mothercare looking at travel systems today! Would have bought one too if we could find one tall enough, but hubby is 6'4", I'm about 5'8ish, and quite clearly we're both far too tall to have a child. Why don't the manufacturers of these things realise that just occasionally someone over the height of 5'4 falls pregnant? Going to have to do some research on t'internet into any with slightly higher handles! If anyone comes across any, let me know! (Sorry, hijacking your thread for a bit of a rant!)
  • Lol, sorry, only 5'1 here so can't help. I'm just happy if I can see over the top of the pram!!

Blimey Choco, your thread over the last few days has made me feel absolutely exhausted!!

Snaggles suffered badly from SPD through both her pregnancies, I am sure she can give you some handy hints to get through!

Hope DS is completely recovered now, and that the rest of you have not shown any signs of the same bug.

  • Did she? Thanks, will ask when next bump into her on here. Weird how I had no problems with pregnancy one and two...maybe being 10 years older doesn't help!

DS is fine now; DD had same bug last Saturday. OH and I are fine so far, touch wood! We are attempting to go out for the meal we missed last week when DD was ill though so something is bound to happen - very MSE though if can't spend any money!

Lol...I don't know how you can say anyone's thread makes you exhausted. You do more than anyone I know. And I make sure I build in plenty time for MSE breaks!!
  • God, I love my postman!

    Today he brought
    • tickets for High School Musical on ice for DD and 2 nieces (Christmas prezzies)
    • Now 67 CD (Christmas present, bought on HMV's 15% off day)
    • a product to test that I'm very pleased about (see username!!)
    • a product to test that I'm not that excited about but it is practical and will save me buying it this week
    • a £10 Boots voucher from Pigsback
    • a Wii remote jacket (!?! dunno, but apparently you need one to prevent flying Wii remote accidents!!)
    • a football pack that we saved vouchers from the Sun containing bag, water bottle, towel, football, sticker book and vouchers for free KitKat chunky, Pringles and some kind of toxic looking burger!
Bet my postman hates me though...or at least is very relieved when he gets to my house and his bag gets lighter!!

Also I was very stupid as OH got a letter from Barcleycard offering 0% till August (2.5% handling fee) or 6.9% LOB (NO handling fee) and I ripped it up thinking he has no more debts to transfer. An hour later I realise he could have probably used it to pay the £3500 on my Marbles card which is going from 0% to 15% interest next month. Would have saved money transferring to the 6.9% deal! Argh! Egg is offering me 0% on balance transfers at the moment but I think the handling fee on that would probably negate any savings on interest that I might make.
  • Went to Sainsbury's yesterday where they have half price on al baby toiletries and wipes.

We got 6 packs of wipes (in every variety I could find so I know what I like best), 2 baby bath, 2 shampoo, 2 baby wash, 1 baby oil, pack of breast pads, pack maternity knickers (much to DD's amusement), 2 nappy creams and 1 moisturising cream all for £15.

Might be useful information for someone...
  • Hmmm...planning on a working kind of day today. OH is off to work at 12.30 (he did this two weeks ago and it added £170 to his weekly pay but makes it seem like he has no time off) so hoping to list some stuff on ebay for Mum. Still haven't done it and she's starting to nag a bit!!

Also I will get up the attic and sort the old videos so that there are room on the shelves for the books that are still sitting dangerously on the landing. I will, will, will do it! If you notice my green light on you MUST banish me away from the computer.

I think I will maybe drink my cup of tea first though...

    Yeah, me!!! Thanks!!!:T
Will see what I can find this afternoon when I finally get out. Can't remember how far into pregnancy I was last time before I needed the breast pads, but DH reminded me last night of my reaction to the wet patch on my top! Yeah, dead funny. (Sorry to any blokes reading!)

That green light is on...but since it is Ebay for your mum and therefore not doing you any good, you can leave it on!
