Good idea about the wedding. Does that mean your daughter will miss the day off school she was worried about? No invitations until acceptance???!!! Bizarre! Maybe she's been on MSE too much, and decided not to waste the money sending them to people who won't come!!!

Great news about your Ebay parcel, I'll need to look out for lots like that if scan says it's a girl! I've still been exceptionally good and not bought a single thing (apart from nappies and boring stuff). Was at storage yesterday and nearly collapsed when I saw how much baby stuff from DS that I'm going to have to sort through. So tempting just to stick the whole lot on Ebay as a job lot and start again, but that's sooooo not MSE!

Well done on the Flylady morning - wow! I was going to try and get the house back to its immaculate state today as it was lovely to have such a clean house at the viewing weekend, but got sore tummy, throat and head and so can't be bothered! Maybe later...
  • Yes, she will have to miss the day off school. She doesn't want to, but the temptation of being a bridesmaid for the first time was just too much! DS has decided he'd rather go to school!

Unbelievably all 7 of the ebay items due to finish today have sold...not for a lot...but sold they have. Think someone somewhere is having a laugh! maybe a "whats the worst thing you can buy for a £1 competition" or something. Even more unbelievably I have got ahead of myself and wrapped all seven items ready to post when they are completed and paid.
  • Yay! We're back!

You wouldn't believe how much I missed the site. It seemed like everytime I went to do something it was...can't, it's on MSE! Unbelievable how much info this site holds, not to mention the chat and support on DFW board!

On the bright side have listed more stuff on ebay, my home is so clean that when I told OH on the phone last night I'd been cleaning the kitchen he replied "But what was there to clean??" and spent so much time with OH over the weekend that he is happy - was almost like we were dating again!

He also found an old premium bond holder's card from when he was a child and when we checked it on the NSI site it indicates that he's won £50 - just this month, which seems bizarre seeing as the card has been missing for 30 years or so. Need to do the necessary paperwork to update his address etc then will keep you posted as to whether he ever actually sees any winnings! Also found an old National Savings passbook. After reading Martin's "lost money" guide (when it was the only thing online) will fill the form in and see if he has a few pounds to get from there too (every little helps!)

On the negative side more fuss with my dad, mainly because he took the kids for the day, said they would be back at 5. When we phoned at 7.30 my step-monster lied to OH about a few things - he was not happy! He's not a man that gets angry but I could see how annoyed he was. Anyway, enough about them - don't lets spoil a happy day!!

Off to update ebay totals and end of month debts (sad how much I have been itching to do that all weekend!)
  • My Debts

    Marbles Card: £3,500
Barclays Overdraft: £360 (Hoping might be able to reduce this further with ebay money - fingers crossed!)

    OH's Debts
Egg Card: £0 Yay! Finally :j

    Total £3,860
    Total reduced in September: £788
Total reduced since LB moment (August 2006) : £24,114.60
Total reduced since debt at highest (January 2006): £26,022.60
Target for end of October - £3,400 - not achieved
Target for end of November - £2,600

Not as much as I would have liked paid off this month but other things keep cropping up, grr! (And yes, I know I should be budgetting and I will once debts are all gone.)
Weirdly, looking forward to tomorrow, not for payday but for spending diary report!

Fingers crossed for the potential premium bond winnings, and for the old savings account - as you say, it all adds up!

Those totals are envy-producing!! My ebay things end today but won't reach my target. I have more to list and lots more ebay stuff to do so will make it up somehow!

And :j :j :j indeed for the egg card and other totals, ok so you didn't quite reach your target this month, but you are doing bloody well :T

  • After discussing free money on another thread (pandapaws, maybe?) and talking about how much could have been made in a year to provide a "free Christmas", just thought would add up what has been received since January 2007 - and to make a target for 2008 possibly for a free Christmas??

    Here goes...

    Cash

    Ciao £19.20
    Cashback rewards £102
    Free Fivers £98.31
    Mutual Points £60
    My Shopping Rewards £45.56
    Quidco £192.15
    RPoints £6.47
    TopCashBack £45.34
    Home of research £20.75

    Vouchers

Lightspeed (OH and I) £70 Amazon / HMV vouchers
Test and Vote £36 HMV vouchers
    Pigsback £40 Boots Vouchers
    Pinecone research £20 luncheon vouchers
Valued Opinions £30 Argos vouchers (only waiting for 40p clearing for £10 more!!)
IPSOS access panel £55 Argos vouchers
Ipsos TV survey £10 Amazon e-voucher (expecting another one soon)

I am also expecting the Sterling equivalent of $50 from a survey site (approx £25?) and have money waiting to reach withdrawal level in two other sites.

    GRAND TOTAL:

    Money: £589.78
    Vouchers: £261
    Overall total: £850.78

Blimey - doesn't it all add up?? I think if I could do that next year a free Christmas could definitley be possible. It's just a case of being desciplined with the money and keeping it to one side!

What a fab idea - we could start up a "free Christmas" challenge! I would be up for that with piggy vouchers and the like - might encourage me to answer a few more surveys!!

HI, i would definatly be up for a free christmas challenge starting in january, that way i could stay motivated not to spend the vouchers through the year.

  • Excellent - glad to see other people would be up for a free Christmas. Any ideas on how a thread would work? Would it be on here (DFW) or the Special Occasions board? Posting monthly or as and when vouchers etc arrived? Definitely beginning January...

    All ideas welcomed!!!
