Have just paid for Harry Potter (been in my basket for months!) - I think I'm no 3 on the list so should get it about 3 days after delivery...

You've got loads going on what with the house and everything - is it easy to rent where you are?

Have you already taught the kids you are inheriting in September?

The Harry Potter money came out of my bank account yesterday - I'm hoping that means it's on its way!

TBH, I'm not sure how easy rental is, although there's a house along the street that always seems to be up for let. Will have to be aother thing i will have to find out I suppose.

I have taught the Year 5's for a year when they were in Y2. They were a pretty nice year group. I taught the Y6 just two days a week when I first started; they were erm... an interesting year group! Plus there are ten other children in the class who have joined since Y2/3 so they are fairly unknown to me, but for whatever reason we never get uncomplicated ordinary children joining the school after Reception year, only ones who can't read / have no social skills / have "anger management problems" etc...eek!

Oh, forgot to say i have my "old" class back tomorrow. I am looking forward to it as we have had our new classes to get to know them for the last two weeks. Am looking forward to it so much! :j

We did a "Britain's Got Talent" competition with my new class today. It was great fun and the rest of the school came to watch and enjoyed it - not sure that there is much talent though, unless it is very much hidden!! ;)

Got my Harry Potter book. Finished my Harry Potter book. It was everything I hoped for and my own personal favourite characters were spared (erm...mostly!!). Don't want to give too much away though but it gave me goosebumps and tears in my eyes at one point (but oddly not at a sad point!). Also caused me to gasp out loud more than once...i think I get too involved!!!

Glad you have enjoyed the book - we are waiting until we go near an Asda next week to get it cheap - but am sure they will have run out by then!!!

Oh well, it will be worth the wait!

Have you broken up for the summer holidays yet?

Yes, broke up on Friday but it hasn't quite sunk in yet. Think will have to go in on Tuesday / Wednesday as have stuff to do and want to get it over with to enjoy the rest of the summer (or more likely to have the time to build an ark, the way the weather is going)
  • HP not arrived here - owls, bats, deer yes; postmen, white van drivers none to be seen - might have to go to supermarket today when my 2 are at their footy trials...

I wold be so mad if mine hadn't come. We actually ended up with 2 copies. DD won a reading challenge at school but didn't get a prize so DH bought her an Asda £5 copy. DS and myself have both read it now so we have a spare. Would probably be expensive to post but anyone in the Durham area would be welcome to collect it if they wanted it?

Feeling slightly more energetic today. Cleaned the downstairs of the house, did some ironing, went to local market and bought lots of lovely soft fruit very cheaply, posted an ebay parcel, went to Boots and got 2 for 1 suntan lotion using advantage card points.

Slipped up very slightly by buying a readymade tuna and cucumber sandwich when I could have made my own tuna sandwich though and didn't go into school when I should have really.

Worked out the financial situation for end of this month / beginning of next - not great! During July / August with getting boiler serviced, getting new shower installed to replace broken one, paying car insurance on OH's car and needing spending money for Disneyland Paris the debts won't be going down too much. On one hand I am thinking well, at least these are all paid in cash and haven't gone onto credit cards as they would have done in the past; on the other I am thinking the debts are seeming to remain static and aren't going down much, aaargh!

Will have to have a bit of an ebay sort, I think. Which leads me to a dilemma... When we were trying to conceive I finally gave into the madness and bought a Clearblue fertility monitor. Well, you guessed it...I fell pregnant before I took it out of the wrapper! I have kept it in the drawer irrationally thinking that if I sold it then something would happen and I would need it again. Now that I have reached the 13 week stage do you think I dare ebay it?

Off to properly sort out the end of the month update...

    Busy day today.

Took DS to the orthodontist as he has an incisor that has never grown and when it was xrayed the dentist said there was no adult tooth in the gum to replace it. The dentist also thought that there may be four other similar teeth. Orthodontist today says they are only two actual missing teeth, although two other are still in gum and slowly forming so probably won't push through until he is 15 or so. We need to go back then to be fitted for a brace which DS is not chuffed about! He also said he will refer DD as she may have same problem.

Then went to Asda supposedly only for picnic food for a day trip on Saturday to stop us having to spend a fortune in the teashop at the outdoor museum we are going to. Ended up spending £42  ...on my Egg card  . very, very naughty! Though I did buy four pairs of trousers for DS who has had a growth spurt and is now the proud owner of several pairs of old trousers that flap round his ankles! Luckily he isn't into labels as such (one was Smartprice tracksuit bottoms at £2 per pair - good enough for getting covered in mud as he and his friend do most days - apparantly they are digging a huge hole in the fields behind our house, though where and why I have no idea!!) though I have promised a pair of adidas tracksuit bottoms to wear for PE.

Then spent a happy hour playing Sonic the Hedgehog (the original version) with DD on one of those plug and play things. I used to be quite good at games so I thought but just cannot get to grips with DS's Wii or PS2 especially when playing using the funny controllers. DS just shakes hiis head and gives me the sort of look I used to give my mother when she couldn't do Pacman or the like. Obviously I am now decrepit!!
