Hi Chocaholic - Have only recently come back on the board after about 7 months absence and have spent the last hour and a bit reading your journey.
CONGRATULATIONS on all fronts! You have done amazingly well - and you already have such a busy life!
I must admit that when I read that you were feeling dizzy/nauseous one morning I found my self talking to my computer "you're pregnant again!" (Good job I am in the house on my own! :rotfl: ) Anway, resisted the temptation (which I can't usually do with a book!) not to F/Forward to see if I was right! (Honestly, I was tempted!).
Anyway, selling the house............ I think the EA is right, let her fall in love with the house a little bit more and maybe offer the asking price for fear of losing it to someone else! - You already know that she wants it so, if she hasn't made an improved offer by close of play on the day of her 2nd viewing, get the EA to give her a call on the following morning to see what happens. It may be that she will stick with her original offer, BUT she may up it... :j :T0 -
Thanks for all your comments. Feeling a bit guilty that you have wasted 60ish minutes of your life reading my diary though! (Having said that wouldn't like to count the number of hours I've spent reading diaries. Am a bit addicted or nosy I think!)
Look forward to seeing you around the board in the future.0 -
UPDATE: Have trawled through cupboards and DS does have another pair of black shoes for school (They were actually mine bought for an outward bound course, but they were boys shoes so it's fine!)
Luckily he won't have to go in wellies as one of my uncles had to do all through one summer or just stay off school as my Mum claims her siblings sometimes had to do when their shoes fell to bits!0 -
Well, hope I am not speaking too soon but we have accepted an offer on our house. As have never sold a house before am not sure what happens next but hoping everything goes smoothly. Not sure where we will live then. but one step at a time, eh?
Thought had found solution to this week's money crisis. Child benefit goes in Monday (well actually it usually shows up on Saturday) and whereas I usually use it to pay Student Loan, because loan is paid monthly and CB paid 4 weekly I get another one before loan is due. So was thinking Woo hoo, we have £100 extra, until DD reminds me her next phase of gymnastic classes are due to be paid for - £40 and the newspaper lady dropped a bill for £35 through the door. We only get a paper on a weekend and seem to pay a fortune for it. Keep telling OH to cancel but he hasn't so will post a cheque with a note cancelling it myself - from what I can work out we are paying about £1.30 for the papers and £1.70 for delivery! OH can walk to the shop himself!
Also not going for meal tonight as am off work sick. Only saves £10 but £10 is £10. Can put that money towards cinema this weekend - ill or not, broke or not we are determined to go see Harry Potter (and I wonder why I'm poor!)0 -
I know how you feel - there is always something! I was doing really well, and then today I got a phone call from Karate. We pay a fixed amount monthly, and back in February the amount went up. Didn't think to do anything about it, because it sort of looks after itself. However, the phonecall was to remind me that the payment is made by standing order, not by direct debit, so it is up to me to make the amendment!!!
So I now have arrears of £124!!! And the monthly amount has gone up from £39 to £61 a month
Well, it has waited since February, it will have to wait a few days more.
Regarding Harry Potter, could you go on Orange Wednesday and do BOGOF?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hmmm...not sure we can wait until Wednesday as would need to be Wednesday in the school hols. See, that's why I'm broke, I can do abstinence until it's something I really want then I just give in!
Also, just phoned the company building houses along from us. They started on the site a while ago so I thought they might be releasing prices soon, but she said phone back this time...next year!!! I still want our house to go through quickly but we will be homeless for a year! We were going to stay with my Mum but don't know if she'll want us that long. Think might have to start looking at rentals in a month or two.0 -
'Spose we should be debt free by then...with savings!0

Well, over half way through the month and only two days away from the six week's holiday which seems to have been a long time coming this year. I am completely shattered and ready for a rest - I think because I have been so tired and sick for the last two months. I will be 13 weeks pregnant at the weekend and someone please tell me that I am going to enter the energetic, feeling fabulous phase soon!
Also we have been given our new classes for next year and I have Year 5 and 6 which is half exciting and half terrifying! There are a lot of troubled children within that class, though luckily a lot of lovely ones too. Will keep you posted as to how that goes but think will have a challenging Autumn Term (I am keeping myself calm with the thought that it is only one term hopefully!)
My whole house is in a state of excitement over the new Harry Potter book due on Saturday. :j :j :j (This is us!) Myself and the children are ready to battle each other for first read when it is delivered on saturday. I got told at work today I was mean for not buying a copy for each of us. Mean maybe, but not stupid!
Think it will be a spending weekend though. Very naughty but I think I will be putting a little bit back on the Egg card in the Next sale. Am justifying it by thinking of the bargains I got in the Winter Sale, and Next always has good resale value on ebay when they are outgrown. Hoping I might be able to pick up some maternity trousers. I have tops from ebay but there aren't many petite maternity trousers around it seems.
Two days to go, two days to go....0 -
Have just paid for Harry Potter (been in my basket for months!) - I think I'm no 3 on the list so should get it about 3 days after delivery...
Finished school today (yay!) so have got to catch up with accounts tomorrow before sliding into holiday mode. Had to teach using sign language this morning as I 'd lost my voice overnight. No-one was up when I got ready this morning so didn't talk to anyone - it was only when I started singing in the car that I realised - good job it was year 3 who - whilst they thought it was highly amusing - fell over themselves to help lol!
You've got loads going on what with the house and everything - is it easy to rent where you are?
Have you already taught the kids you are inheriting in September?
Take care
K
oh and you are going to enter the energetic, feeling fabulous phase soon!0 -
Hi choco, I am sure you will be "blooming" very soon.
I had promised DS that I would take him to see HP on an orange wednesday yesterday, but because I have hurt my back I cannot face the thought of being in a cinema seat for 3 hours or so, so had to postpone the visit. He is gutted, especially as DD has already seen the film with friends, but she is v happy to see it again, so will take him next wednesday instead!
