Anyway, thank you to everyone who, helpfully, contributed.
He has seen this thread and completely understands how I've felt and what he's done - it's just a case of takings things slowly now.
Well done MSE! :T0 -
I never used to have a problem with anyone watching pr0n, live and let live and all that. Then one day, got a job as a practice nurse, led on to work in an outreach clinic for the ladies that work in the large red light district near my work place, then ontothe criminal justice system.
I have met, over the years, hundreds of women that work in the sex "industry". I have never met any like the poster on here who just work the internet, but have met many who did the films, pose for pictures, that sort of thing, and have gone on to work the streets, or escorts, male and female). I am sure, that all the men who watch (women too) like to think that all the participants know exactly what they are doing, are all over age, get well paid, have a safe work place etc. If you think about it at all.
In truth, most would do anything not to be there, many have not known any other sort of life and were given up to it by family. There are drugs, abuse and lots of money. The working women get two thirds of this--the drugs and the abuse.
If this is such a cosy,ok, choosen lifestyle then I am sure that any of you with children would not mind them doing a job in this sector. Maybe watch???? Every man and woman you see should have had a choice, should be protected and paid. They do not have any of the work protection which you take for granted. Do not for one moment, think that they really want to be there. For every one story you hear of the worker saying they love their job and its the punters that are idiots, there will be dozens who are just trapped and making money for someone else.
I am not against p0rn as such, I am very much against it being out of the workers control. I would like to see it decriminlised so that theworkers have the ability to use legal channels to get money owed, proper protection and safer working environments. Its nice to think,,,isn't it, that all the ladies you are watching on the internet love the work. That just is not the truth. And each time the sites are used/paid for on the internet it just makes the situation worse.
I know that I will get shot down in flames for this post because every one seems keen to say that they don't mind anyone watching p0rn. Just please dont forget that there is a price to be paid, and I don't mean the odd £50 here and there.
One of my co-workers said that the sex industry now is a bit like child workers in the 19th century--most middle class people knew that children worked in dreadful conditions, but it wasn't thier children and SOMEBODY had to do it. Besides, if they hated it they would leave and do something else. If they didn't--then they had only themselves to blame if they were unhappy.
I am sure that if you enjoy p0rn you will continue to use it and just have me down as an interfering do-gooder who just wants to ruin other peoples harmless fun. If it makes you feel better to think that--go right ahead. I know when I next go to work not many woman will agree with you.LBM-2003ish

Well said Churchrat. I too am a nurse and have done lots of outreach with sex workers and can echo what you have described. Lots of people caught up in this are trafficked for this specific purpose, and so things not always as they first appear.0

Mmm....strikes me that this is the opposite side of the thread in the Up your Income section of the Forum under the heading "A saucy new job"
(which has always struck me as being extremely tacky!) 0 -
Well, what a very strange relationship to be doing that OP !0

Yep strange indeed. A right turn off for me. Takes some confidence to be able to be OK with that. Not for me... though some have an open relationship I know.0

Whilst I am sure you have seen circumstance where !!!!!! and the illegal sex industry cross over, you seem to suggest you would like !!!!!! to be decriminilised!
Last I checked it was a legal film industry.0 -
Paying for !!!!!!, what a noob, there is free !!!!!! to suit everyones tastes out there.carolinejane wrote: »I have no problem with !!!!!! sites really but paying for them is madness.
This is moneysavingexpert but that is not a valid point.
At least he* is paying the women rather than leeching.
Or perhaps you would prefer it if piracy drove them from the net and on to the streets where they could demand payment in person?
*Okay, it seems to be his partner who is paying.0
