Well its Friday...I have nothing planned today :) I think we will mooch into our new town, have a wonder and maybe coffee/cake and I need to go and buy some oilcloth for the table before the children arrive on sunday and all hell breaks loose! Oh and B has a swimming lesson at 5pm at the new pool she will go to, hope its okay and they don't put her off as she was doing so well at old pool with teacher she's had for last 2 years.

We are off to spend our tesco vouchers tonight...gosh we live the high life lol. I think between us doubled up we have £140 to spend so will enjoy getting loads of bits and pieces for kitchen, home etc that we need or needs replacing. Tomorrow we have to be at the old house early to tidy up and load car with remaining bits from shed and loft. Sunday morning I think we are picking up the children and then they are here until monday afternoon. can't believe there is only 1 week of the school holidays left!

The house is really starting to feel like home, and will do even more once the remaining furniture arrives and I can hang pictures and put out photographs

Oh well, we shall have a nice relaxing day

Well time seems to be flying along this week...nearly friday!

Has been beautiful weather this week and meant we have been out and about but if I am honest I am really struggling settling at the moment. I know I need to get back into some kind of routine and actually what I am living at the moment isn't normal life as we are still in limbo with schools, work etc. Just feel homesick for my old home, town and life in a funny kind of way.

So tomorrow I have the appeal hearing for beas school place...im not overly positive about this but I have to go in and give as good a case as possible so I must do some reading up tonight. The admissions team have indicated that there may be a possible space at a local school but waiting for final numbers from the school today so please everyone pray that there is a space and B can have it. I phoned the local authority for our catchment school yesterday (sch I have applied for are just over the river but fall in another LA even though they are all closer!) and found out there are 4 schools with places all are in very run down, poor and social areas, also miles away. I asked them what was the process then as they had to provide a school and they said well you would have to send her to one of those 4....and how was I supposed to get her there and her reply was that transport might be provided or they would contribute to car running costs. What annoys me most is that it would then make it virtually impossible to get a job if I have to take her there and back as journey would be 30-40 mins. The other thing that really gets me is that they deam a 55 min journey to school acceptable for a 5 year old. She made me laugh when she said don't worry we wouldn't expect her to catch a bus on her own...pmsl really now thats flipping generous of you!

anyway positive thinking for today and tomorrow that one of the schools will come to fruition.

    right better crack on

Fingers crossed for the school stuff, sally.

As for the settling in, well, it is bound to be odd until you have a routine of school etc to deal with, so don't expect miracles of yourself at this early stage!

Yes you are right....Ive lived in my old town for the last 9 years and actually its only in the last 4 years Ive really felt it was home! I know once B is at school and I can meet some of the mums that will help. And if I get a local job I'll meet some new people, just hate feeling like I know no-one. I don't think R really understands how much of a change this is for us both, literally everything has changed in our worlds where as for him he's moved back to the area he's always wanted to live, he's still going to work in the same job, still has his parents local, still sees the children and has them to stay. Apart from having us here life is the same

Good luck with the School Sally.
You've all been through a lot of upheavals but you've done it together. You and R may have differing start points but your destinations are the same now . He sounds very supportive and understanding, don't let past experience cloud that.
    It'll all come together . X
