Then we say Nayyyyyy!
You must have said you were resident in Norn Iron for them to entertain your application :silenced:

Not sure. I put down my address which is in the UK so didn't say I was in Northern Ireland.
I think that it is a bit cheeky. Northern Ireland is part of the UK. Bank of Scotland don't say you have to be resident in Scotland to go with them.
Mind you some building societies say you have to live in their catchment area to go with them.0 -

Not strictly true though is it?
First Direct is certainly not second best and your own credit rating/score is far from 'the bollox' and I quote from one of your other posts
QUOTE=karatedragon;35714001]I don't really understand how this can work for me. I have nothing on any of my CRA reports as I have NO mortgage, credit cards, loans, mobile phone agreements and my bank account is not reported monthly.
I have recently checked all my files and all I have is a closed NTL account on Equifax that is due to drop off in about 16 months time.
I also have no intention of having any of those types of things. If I buy anything I generally use cash.
With a blank or sparse credit file, home-owner or not you would be very much in the sub-prime category, hence why the Coventry turned you down, accepting on appeal.
First Direct are not quite so lenient :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Maybe.
But I have done a Credit Score total with Equifax and scored 780/900 and fell into the Excellent category. This is despite my sparse history.
Not sure how relevant that score is but as I have no intention of going with First Direct I won't know if they are lenient or not.
Edit - Maybe I will apply - I could make £100 for joining and £100 for leaving.0 -
Although perhaps Coventry want people with no signs of debt or history of debt - basically someone with the profile of always having been so responsible with their own income that they've never needed to borrow against credit cards or loans in the past - given that they don't offer these products - perhaps they want current account customers and savings account customers who always have a good positive balance, without fail, to subsidise their mortgage customers.karatedragon wrote: »Maybe.

Equifax gave you 780? Are you sure that was Equifax? I thought their score only went upto 500? Given that 450+ = Excellent on their scale...Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
