Work has just rung, some of them got in but only with a push from guys to help them out of a drift on the hill going towards work.

They are trying to find me work nearer home now for the time being.

God, I feel so sick right now. Its all going badly wrong, and I can see all those old horrid times coming back to me.

what a !!!!!! day this turning out to be,

One of my beautiful little pigies has died, Garibaldi, I am beside myself, I have made him a nice bed and put some straw and food in it for him. and I have wrapped him in a little blue blanket.

He was fine last night, I had had them both on my knee watching tv and hand feeding leaves of spinach.

    :grouphug:

At least you know he didn't suffer. Those piggies are getting on in their years.

It's only going to be for a most a couple of days until the council get their act together. Keep an eye out at the end of your road and see how they're getting on with the main road down the hill into the village. That'll be the tester for them because steep hills are bad news at the best of times.

Driving on snow is fine once you get the practice in - it's ice that's the problem. Don't read the BBC's How to drive on snow thing though - it's just recycled anecdotes with no experience behind it.

We wouldn't say it if it wasn't true. Two years ago I went through london looking for the snow that caused it to close down. I was still looking hard for it passing through Lincolnshire...

It will be with us for 10 days according to the weather forecasts. Which is probably the longest they can predict before running out of fingers...

Take it with a pinch of salt. If the councils have any left that is. They've no clue. The weather reports for "now" i.e. theoretically the most accurate they can be, have been hopeless. Currently the BBC says I should be having a rain shower. It's glorious sunshine.

I know it;s a horrible shock - especially as Garibaldi was OK earlier this morning. But.....it was clearly his time....and he went very peacefully. He didn;t suffer....and you couldn;t have prevented this. At least you were home and didn;t have to come back from a terrible drive this evening to find him. You and Pierrot gave him a fantastic life full of love and cuddles....and he knew he was much loved.

His cousins Iroko and Charlie (who were the same age) and his mum Whisp and grandpa Grommie will all be there to meet him at The Bridge.

I know you;re having a carp tme atm what with the snow/work etc.....but it's not going back to the old times Hun.......remember what we talked about a couple of weeks ago when you thought you;d have no work for a month......about how better placed you are to deal with those little financial emergencies compared to when we first met? You have worked very hard and this temporary glitch is merely that....and you;ll be back on course by the end of the week once the weather calms down and the roads clear.

Stay warm......no death defying missions out onto the roads please for the sake of one day's work atm..:o....it'll all come right I'm sure. Have a good sob and give Pierrot lots of cuddles and keep a close eye on her. She was so bonded with him she may now just stop eating.....and therefore you might need to find her a new little boy quite quickly....there's a piggie rescue in Keighley.

Piggies down here are sending you and Pierrot lots of wheeks and hugs....and Beechie is offering to lick away your tears.

    Speak again later today

Well that means I'll be getting it soon then, given I don't live very far from you.

I think rain is going to be unlikely though...

Oh smashed, I'm sorry to hear that ... it sounds like they were from Wol originally? Your little one had a good life - let yourself cry when you want to - it isn't just once either - I know my cats will be there at The Bridge to meet me, one day, and it was years ago they went, but I'm crying again now ... you love them, it hurts when they go.

Good evening all, still lots of global warming about. Yes, Wol, I had an interesting trip into work Monday. Got in a queue of traffic out in the sticks, no sign of any accident but soon found out why when I started driving up a snowbound hill and found I couldn't get out of first gear.....put brake on, got out and checked wheels to see if there was any reason for it, but nothing...just had to get back in and persevere up that there hill. Managed it in the end and rest of the way was easy peasy. Thawed a bit over the day so not so bad coming home. Not back in till Friday so fingers crossed for better wevver.

Smashed - glad you got home safe but so sorry about your furry friend. Chin up missus, better times are a-comin...
